This is unreleased song from their album "Coming Home" from 2017 and they release it now because its probably dedicated to their guitarist Derek Jones who passed away recently
He played this and said he was gonna release it before he passed

I think the message is about death
I mean, not just because ronnie showed it in his stream after Derek passed away (RIP) but the lyrics in general sounds like someone telling their loved ones not to miss them and the space sound can represent the line "Death is like a one way ticket to a distant star" (Also it reminded me to Welcome to the black parade)

What i love about FIR is their music is relatable in so many levels. This is a song that was suppose to be on the Coming Home album which is fire by the way is more meaningful music i feel. He poured his heart and soul in the music he makes and is why fans can relate and appreciate is music.

I probably took it a little but too literal, but i saw it as from the perspective of someone who’s passing, and when they say “don’t follow me” it’s saying “don’t end your life to go with me, carry on without me”. Again, probably too literal, but that’s my view on the song, especially with Derek’s recent passing

I think he's singing about life, he's losing his life and he tells us that we have to carry on and we have to stay strong and keep on living, what he didn't do. We should do what he couldn't, we should promise that we stay strong an keep on living and fight for our lives, just staying strong in every situation because there will always be a way out of every situation. They might released it bexause of Dereck's death, and maybe he commited suicide and that would fit but that's another story

See, my interpretation is that he is dying. He seems pretty clear about that. So he's in his last moments and he's saying don't follow me, be strong, carry on because I'm gonna be floating in the stars. I'll be ok, you you keep going.
I had the same interpretation as well. "No more shackles on my feet" I took as him drifting off, no longer being teathered to Earth.

I suspect i didin't make it to the album not because of the music but because the message, theme and sound in general is similar to "Coming Home", which was the main song of the album

Apparently he finally released it because after Derek passed away he leaked it himself on his twitch to thank fans etc. A lot of lyrics have direct reflection to the loss of their guitarist. Even though the song was recorded for the last album. I think it means a lot to Ronnie and Derek. Maybe Derek had a lot to do with the making of this song and the meaning so he wanted to honor him by releasing it. That’s not even getting into the lyric meanings about death etc
