*sees him riffle a brand new deck out of the box* Me: Oh that looks easy, lemme try it too! *cards resist bending at all costs and in the end fly away to escape the pain* ;_;
I'm a beginner, about to learn the riffle shuffle. Cards are very stiff, so i look for a video to break them in, maybe that helps. First thing in the video "do 10-20 riffle shuffles"... ... ...ok, i'll try :D
watches video how to do a bridge shuffle, comments say if using a new deck you should break it in first. i go to this video where the method of breaking in a deck of cards is a bridge shuffle... i can't even.
Good sound advice. I like your card mat. Here's my contribution: You will notice that the 2 Jokers in Bicycle decks are different. One colour and one B/W. So I always open 2 packs at a time and switch one of the jokers round so each pack has 2 identical jokers. This is very useful for some effects I do. Also it means you have time to break in the second deck before the first one becomes too floppy and worn out. Merry Xmas!
QUESTION: Don't the oils in the hands play a large part in eliminating the slipperinesspart? Lastly: Are you a big believer in powdering the deck before using? Many Thanks!
Nice tips cheers. I just learned the springs and all the stuff you said, and I got the bicycle black tiger deck. Which is awesome, and it was hard as a brick at first. But now after a couple of days it is getting better and better. Cheers
nono, the lepaul is a weaker horizontal spring, if you're going to argue that the spring is okay, then the le paul is obviously fine. If the le paul is going to wreck your cards then so is the spring. You may have a case with the pressure fan, but only if you're willing to separate it from the le paul.
For the whole video I was waiting for the kicker at the end where you say "the strange thing Is when I use this technique the cards... *spreads on table face up* end up in new deck order" Would have been awesome!
Just when I thought I had seen people bitch about everything, here you go surprising me! Congratulations, you have bitched about the most ridiculous thing ever. 👍👍
Hi, those riffle shuffles are perfect, I have been practicing that shuffle for some time now, brought a few variations of cards, Bicycle, Tally-Ho, arcane, Monarchs and Madson Rounders but no matter what cards I use, new, used, cheap, expensive the bottom say 10 to 15 cards always come of in one clump. I am getting very frustrated as I have been trying for some months now, every video I watch, people make it look easy. Do you have any tips please.
Simple or not, it is his move and he has the right to do what he wants with it. You don't pay for the difficulty of the move you pay to support the hard work that was put behind it.
I recently got pack of these decks and for life of me I can't get them to bend like that:( And yeah they so slipperly even placing them on table they want to slide around like Micheal Jackson. Feels impossibe for me:(
Is the new course by Felix going to be taught in the left handed form? Because i saw he holds his deck in the right and one of the course modules is titled "A note for right handed people"
Great advice, thanks! Quick question: for the faro shuffles, do they have to be perfect (like each card interweaved, or exactly 26 cards in each half)?
Good vid, although the clean, reliably straight cut of a sharp knife blade seems preferable to me than chancing it with one's thumbnail, especially if the tuck box is going to be kept and used. There is something inelegant, I think, about a jagged, gnarly-looking tear of the seal, which often happens.
Hey, quick question, My red Bicycle Rider Back deck has a black Ace of Spades and the text "Rider Back Playing Cards" on the cover instead of the blue Ace and the "Standart" text. Is that a different deck or just a regional reprint of the box? I'm from Switzerland btw.
The deck you have is the same deck that was printed before the shift in corporate headquarters from cincinnati Ohio to Erlinger Kentucky. Your box has the back design on it and "Rider back" actually written on it. They're great cards. Same as the ones in the video, if not a little better due to the older decks having a better printing process.
I looked this up because my tarot cards are a combination of slippy and sticking together. This was completely unusuable to me since tarot cards are way bigger amd stiffer and mine are silver gildet. Yet i watched in awe xD I had no idea there was a card trick community on YT
Question - after using a new-ish deck for a while, I tend to get that permanent "bend," where the cards "click" back and forth from one curvature to the other...any solutions to get your deck "un-clicked?"
its the same thing but rider back has smaller pips (even tho it doesnt make much different at all, its like 5% smaller) still prefer rider back because of the box tho
I find it very hard to Faro cards unless they have been very well broken-in -- a process which seems to take days. I've got a Lo Scarabeo deck that I've been working on for the better part of a week and they still don't Faro. :(
What about plastic cards. I recently bought a deck of Bicycle Prestige cards and they're super slippery and don't fan well. (I am a beginner to cardistry but it's really hard to learn anything when your cards won't stay together
i get this problem where when i leave my cards back in the box for a few days or a week, they will stick to each other the next time i take them out and its no longer smooth. any idea how i can fix that??
Clemen Ong hey. U need to wash hands before using. Also if you hold them in warm placr they stick together. Keep them in the box next to the window because its cold outside. If you livr on very warm place its bad for you cards. So, the more cold is better for your cards. Also never put them in your front pockets! If they have already stack just put them in cold placr for few days and they should get better
It's called the 'magic surface' and can be bought on the Dan and Dave website. It is expensive however; selling at $349.95. It can be purchased in red, green or black. Here's a link: shop.dananddave.com/magic-surface.html
I purchased my close up surface from amazon. If you search on their website for magic pad or close up pad you will find many choices. I think i have a 15" diameter one but that may vary depending on who you buy from. My surface is great and was rather cheap for such an important close up tool. Hope this helps, F.T.P p.s. they are available in different colours.
The reason I looked for this video was literally because of the way these cards escape my riffle shuffle and I am unable to bridge them... first thing suggested is doing a riffle shuffle with a bridge... so i guess I will never break them in.
*sees him riffle a brand new deck out of the box*

The sound of the shuffles are satisfying
I was just thinking the same thing haha
Very soothing to listen to the cards shuffling.
I'm really enjoying the sounds in this video xD
Search 'ASMR'
+Chen Boi yes I know, I have it, I have known about it for a few years
however this time the noises are not tingly, they are hilarious. Frrrrrrt brrrrrrrtsh XD
I see. Well is it just me that finds Asad's voice super relaxing?
+Chen Boi nope I agree *that* is where the asmr comes in xD
Oh thank god for this video! For the life of me I had NO idea how to open a deck of cards!! MAGIC!
Aw great, so all I need to break in a new deck of cards is a minimum 40 hours of card shuffling experience.
40 hours pfft try 1 month
Lol 40? Try 160 buddy
this video just feels like a way for this guy to flex his card shuffling
u keep jokers in your pack!! ...then you are 54 kards not 52 !🤔

Does it matter tho?

Buy gold, 2 identical jokers
im 6 years late lmao, but most deck of cards these days(or all the ones ive seen) have 2 identical jokers in them.

The sounds of the riffle shuffles reminded me of the beginning of the song Money by Pink Floyd.
i need more help getting the cellophane off, HOW DO I DO IT?!?!?!
You can slip a scissor or a knife in and cut it off if you’re really having trouble
Fan'tastic guide. Thanks for sharing.
To be quite honest, I thought this was a setup to a surprise magic trick at the very end
Quick question. How often do you change your deck of cards? How do you know you can no longer use the current ones?
Could you make a video going over the different routines you do? That would be really interesting to watch.
and at the end of this they are worn out, so you throw them away and open a new pack
How to get broke FAST

If I could riffle shuffle the new deck like that, I wouldn't need to break them in. They separate in clumps of 10-15 cards per side.
