  • This full video tutorial shows you how to change, clean, and troubleshoot your Martelli Rotary cutter.
I've always loved the Martelli ergonomic rotary cutters, but a lot of my friends tell me that they have troubles changing blades. Today I decided to tackle the problem and show you how to change the blade AND clean the rotary cutter. There's a good chance that your blade isn't the problem and doesn't need changed yet, so make sure to check out this video on how to clean your cutter and get the most life out of your Martelli Rotary Cutter.

Thanks! I kept turning the screw clockwise. Didn’t work. Fortunately your video explained the correct direction.

Thank you for this video. I recently purchased this rotary cutter and at the end of the first day it wasn’t cutting 100%. It would miss a thread - every time - like I damaged the blade by running it over a pin but I didn’t. So I thought they put cheap blades in with the cutter. I went to change out the blade and needed a video. I learned two things 1. It uses a completely different blade than most rotary cutters - for which I had none. 2. I needed to clean the blade. I followed your instructions and don’t have as many skipped threads as before but still have an occasional one. Thanks again.

VERY Intuitive and time saving. I installed my blade while the cover was off and then installed the cover. That was much easier for me. THANK YOU!

I have never seen these cutters before. They look like they may be an ergonomic design.

Yes! They are wonderful. My elbows would always lock up after a few cuts with other rotary cutters. These barely require any pressure and take so much stress off!

I had a spring fly off in the process.....you don’t show how to put that back.

Great question! Depending on what size you're using, this may vary. For 45 and 60mm cutters, the spring goes in the clear slot on the handle side of the blade and around the red groove on the cover. For 28mm cutters, it goes around the clear peg on the cover and around the groove on the cover handle. I hope that helps!
