I hope you get to see traditional dance, get to visit Merapi & surroundings as well as the south beaches. did you feel the earthquake? There's a botanical garden in kaliurang (used to be just a park when I was small), there are also "touristic villages" where visitors can visit, eat, do typical things the local do. They're not just for foreigners but also for Indonesian visitors. I believe some places allow you to stay at the houses of the locals. It's educational and fun. Enjoy my hometown!!!! ❤❤❤❤
I suggest you to go to south yogyakarta which is gunung kidul. They have a lot of blue and clean beaches and mostly not crowded beaches. And some beach u can set a camping tent

Our friend and I have hotels specifically designed for foreign backpackers, providing them with a more authentic local experience by living among the local residents.
