    Absolute legend, I didn’t think about making a mount like this!

    I'm glad I came across your channel, brother! I have the same kayak and after a recent fishing trip with my wife and son I got really interested in adding a motor to my yak. Since my son is new and my wife can't handle paddling, I end up tethering kayaks to mine and pulling em. I love them dearly, but paddling for other kayaks limits how far we can go and how fast.
    I've been planning on adding a motor to help give my arms a rest without getting dragged back out by the wind a current while pulling them. Seeing this process done on my exact kayak has given me a lot more confidence and direction on the parts list. Fantastic video! Appreciate you taking the time to film this and put it up. 100% sub from me!

    This is a fantastic DIY build! Thanks! I just finished a DIY wireless trolling motor build video for a transom mount minn kota and might modify my regular Tamarack using some of your tips!

    This looks simple enough to do and maybe I will get into the pwc or whatever it is called

    Thank you for making this video. I'll be building a modified version of your mount for my kayak. The issue I have is that my kayak does not have a perfectly horizontal surface at the ideal location for the mighty mounts. The surface is slightly tilted in just a few degrees. I'll have to use two L brackets on each side to mount the cross bar to.

    I have that same kayak. That is the best motor mount assembly I've seen yet...and so simple. Awesome video...I subbed

    Awesome , that’s a pretty clean setup.
    It’s hard to find a mount that will bolt on to the PRO. Waiting on the next video of how you set it all up.

    Ok. Rear mount vs side mount. Is the extra steering install and PWM worth the effort, extra holes in the yak? Stability should be good enough unless you need to zoom on the ocean.
    I’ve owned a Hobie which I installed a motor in the hull. I know the advantage of a motor and peddle drives. Not a fan of always using paddles. That’s old school!
    Much simpler side mount install utilizing the rod holders behind the seat on my Tamarack pro.

    Excellent vid. Is the PWM necessary with Newport 35 thrust? I just purchased it. Can’t you control power from the handle? I guess not…too bad if true

    Good day, I reached all three of my nearest Home Depot and Lowe Centers, and I was unable to secure a square tube@ 1/8 thickness. Did you order online? I really like this trolling motor mount, and I wonder if the cross bar @ 1/16 thickness will be strong enough for my kayak.

    • @bassmanbobbin
      @bassmanbobbin  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah the 1/16 should work. My buddy used that thickness and it works great. You may or may not need to add a support depending on stability but it should work just fine

      Rivets have been holding up great! I’ve had no issues or signs of weakness

    The mighty mount that you have on your kayak…. what is it held down with? Nuts and bolts? Or something else? And has it ever come loose since you installed the mount?

    • @bassmanbobbin
      @bassmanbobbin  9 месяцев назад +1

      I used rivets. It’s solid. No loosening has occurred

    How do you tilt the motor. If you get in shallow water

    I assume you did not need to secure the back of your mount to your kayak? Thanks

    • @bassmanbobbin
      @bassmanbobbin  6 месяцев назад

      No, no need to. The weight of the motor keeps it solid and as long as the rest of the mount was solid there was no need. That thing is solid and doesn’t move out on the water 👍

    did you make the width between the L metal struts the right width to hold a battery?

    • @bassmanbobbin
      @bassmanbobbin  Год назад

      You could put the battery there if you wanted but I am posting a video this weekend on the wiring and battery setup and steering system
