- Some footage of the first weekend of the Steam on the Underground event ran for the 150th anniversary of the London Underground system. The locos featured are Metropolitan Steam locomotive number 1, and Metropolitan Electric Locomotive number 12 'Sarah Siddons'. It used a set of original teak coaches that were used on the Chesham branch services, that are now in use at The Bluebell Railway, other vehicles were Jubilee Coach 353, and a former metropolitan railway milk van. The ensemble are seen first at Paddington, on it's first run, with Met 1 leading, then at a rather crowded Barbican, on it's return run, with 'Sarah Siddons' leading, then finally at Earls Court, where the plan had been to see it at Edgware Road, but our C Stock was held to let it pass, so the shot was rather more crowded than expected. Hope you enjoy, and well done to the LTM for organising it.
Yourself, NXEA170202, and Jules all had the same idea for the first two shots i see :-) It certainly looked very crowded down there, so you've all done very well to get these shots i'd say.
