Meryl Streep is a fantastic actress! I watch the film several times to see his performance. No wonder she has so many awards in his career. I would like to meet her and give her a big hug.
i especially LOVE the last part~ 'please... it's just, i don't know~ Drizzling. *Thunder*' cracks me up everything i see it, no matter how many times! lolx
The movie is actually about making choices and having priorities. Throughout the movie she is acting as if she had NO CHOICE but to do what she does. Then you notice that she is falloying the path of her boss, putting aside her life, her friends and her family for her career and her advencement. I love this movie, its so subtle and yet meaningful.
I am sorry! I know there are a lot of great movie, but this is my favorite movie, I just don't know why...I watched it for million times! The same name novel is also my favorite, now I am crazy for Revenge Wears Prada, and I can't stop reading!
well, she does not just changes her clothes. She started missing dinners, ther bf's birthday party, travelled to Paris and did not tell anyone.. Her life changed suddenly and her clothing are the minimum part of that change. (:
"Please, bore someone else with your questions'' and "The details of your incompetence do not interest me"--are my favourites quotes in the movie and in my life...
My recollection is that she was wearing uber expensive clothes--not merely "decent" clothes, as you say. In college i was the best-dressed in my peer group and i bought most everything at Gap (which was _quite_ cheaper then than it is now, I do believe!--which worked well for my meager budget).
Meryl Streep was phenomenal in The Devil Wears Prada, but the message of the film was appalling! What kind of insecure little girl refuses a chance to network with the New Yorker in order to go to her boyfriend's birthday party? WTF? And it was, like, this triumphant moment in the movie. "Yes! Anne Hathaway has her priorities in order!" NO! She doesn't! You wanna be a journalist in NYC, forget your boyfriend, forget your friends, forget anything that isn't writing. Being career obsessed is not a bad thing! There's nothing wrong with wanting to be great and adapting to the environment of greatness. Take some pride in yourselves, ladies!
+Addy Norman I'm so glad other people feel this way too! I really didn't like the message of the movie either, I think if you are determined to move forward to a career you are passionate about, it takes a lot of ambition and and sacrifice. I think it was really stupid to make it seem as though all of your time and effort should be spent on your friends or your significant other. It's perfectly okay to make yourself a priority and work on bettering your career and your own life than making sure your boyfriend is happy and doing things only to please your friends.
+Samacaron I couldn't agree more, I see so many people who think they Miranda is so evil, but if you think about it, she is the boss anyone could ask for, she is clear, direct efficient, and decisive. People always jump to saying "oh poor Andy, poor you" but they forget all she does is whine through the entire movie and forgets that her boss can open doors for her that she never thought possible.
+Samacaron They were terrible friends. It's not like she was being mean to them or acting pretentious. She was just doing her job. I remember a scene where her dad forced her to go to a musical, and instead of taking care of what she was supposed to and by going with him -- she was able to do what her boss told her to do and blatantly blew it off. That would've gotten someone fired in real life. Then in the next scene, she even told Miranda that she did everything she could thinks of. Wtf? That's a flat out lie. It just wasn't realistic. I think we have to chalk this monstrosity up to poor writing.
This is the one of the very few movies that I can watch, over and over again without getting bored :D, Marie Antoinette is other one, but this rocks for sure :D
i have never seen the whole movie until i gave it to my mom for x mas (she loves it) and i was amazed by Meryl Streep she's awesome and now i love this movie
I like this movie, too~~~ I made an audio file of this movie and listen to that file often, kind of learning English;;; And I memorized most of the words;;;
I think the dude's issue wasn't her appearance change, it was her attitude change. XD After she started dressing fancy and shit, she began to sort of ignore him more and her personality was altering a tad.
I love this movie...it's a great story about a girl discovering she has the ability to choose for herself in the face of having the whole world given to her.
This is my movie too! Well... my boss was very "vicious" he used to hate me and he told me that a couple weeks ago. Now we are friends! I love devil wears Prada! :D
I forgot to mention how much I liked Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci's performances also, some of Emily's line are hilarious (not to mention her facial expressions), like when she says "oh I'm sorry do you have some prior commitment, some hideous skirts convention you have to go to", and Stanley Tucci asking Miranda about Andrea "who is that sad little person ... are we doing a before and after piece I don't know about?" lol so mean but so funny.
the movie is so great and have a good Soundtrack that includes Moby, maddona, Bono and more, New york looks very shinning, an excellent movie 10 in my movie meter
this movie is probably one of the best movies ever!!!! it's soo realistic funny cruel, sexy everything!!!! 10/10 stars for this movie best Quote "Why is no one ready??...." lmao!!
"my personal life is hanging by a thread" "that happens when you start doing well at work. let me know when your whole life goes up in smoke. it means it's time for a promotion"
This trailer was the WHOLE freaking movie.
Meryl Streep is a fantastic actress! I watch the film several times to see his performance. No wonder she has so many awards in his career. I would like to meet her and give her a big hug.
One of my most favourite films. Anne Hathaway is stunningly beautiful in this film.
This was one of the best shows I've ever watched. :) So realistic, so funny, so awesome.
i especially LOVE the last part~ 'please... it's just, i don't know~ Drizzling. *Thunder*'
cracks me up everything i see it, no matter how many times! lolx
You have no style, or sense of fashion. no no, that wasn't a question. That's all.
She said it so smoothly, I loved that part!

Meryl's acting in this movie was PHENOMENAL.

"It's just, I don't know drizzling " sure it is Miranda
Damn, if Anne Hathaway is a "fat girl", then I would be a blue freakin' whale of a girl.
Love the film, but the trailer gave the main points away
skrface13 Do I look like a bunch of sticks piled together?
Excellent but as if it couldn't be, now hang on.... like it couldn't be. Enough praise. Thank you!

"Please, bore someone else with your questions'' and "The details of your incompetence do not interest me"--are my favourites quotes in the movie and in my life...
Saw it last night.... love fashion movies. Specially with Madonna in the background. LOL!!!
'Are we having a before and after shoot'? 'That wasn't a question'. All great! All good!
i forgot how much i love this movie.
I adore this movie. So much.
My recollection is that she was wearing uber expensive clothes--not merely "decent" clothes, as you say. In college i was the best-dressed in my peer group and i bought most everything at Gap (which was _quite_ cheaper then than it is now, I do believe!--which worked well for my meager budget).
