The OP is such a good one, and the series is pretty good in its concept and delivery as well. The fact that you see dragons, samurai, Wild West outlaws, fighter planes, and an aircraft carrier should hint on what type of setting you're in.
Also, if the animation style looks a little familiar, it's done by the same people behind _Hellsing Ultimate._

@@kuroneko1300The problem is that the author is just fucking lazy. He refuse to put any effort into drawing more chapters. It's been 2 decades now and the manga isn't even that long.
It is hard to believe that the production of the Drifters' OP was done by only one person.
Maon Kurosaki, who sang the ED, has passed away and her voice can no longer be heard forever.
The main characters are historical figures from Japan but there are also historical figures from Rome, Carthage, America and more. All in a fantasy world as two godlike people keep sending more as a proxy fight between them.
OMG, Drifters, I only can say beautifull art piece.
Really good and very underrated series, shame it never continued.
Its totally WORTH watching. Sadly i am waiting for season 2 from 2016 and still no word about it. :(

@@TruongNguyen-vy7rw what? He isnt dropping the manga in august 2023 he released the 7 volume. Kohta hirano just take his time making his mangas. Take hellsing as an example, he took 10 years (1997 - 2008) to finish it

The manliest anime is actually Fist of the North Star.Without it, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Drifters and other manly anime simply wouldn't even exist. Kenshiro is the manliest man of all time.

Hidden gem of a show. Short, sweet, and some insane characters and action. Would recommend, its a fun watch

It's from the same people that did hellsing ultimate so you know what to expect, a really good show packed with insanity
An anime about how two god-like creatures summon their “pawns” to different worlds. For a conditionally good creature, these are Drifters, historical figures such as Oda Nabunaga, Adolf Hitler, Butch Cassidy, Hannibal Barca and others. On the conditionally evil side, these are the Ends, historical figures who were betrayed and killed, have magical abilities, for example Jeanne d'Arc, Grigory Rasputin, Jesus, Anastasia Romanova and others. Drifters gather and capture the states of world and try to resist Ends(who in turn capture orcs, goblins, dragons and others), who are trying to rebuild the world for themselves.
It’s not difficult to guess that morality and the good/bad sides are quite arbitrary, since, for example, Hitler belongs to Drifters, and Jesus to Ends.
Imagine trying to explain an anime to someone to entice them to watch, then you spoil the whole f-in thing, and the twists that make it good. Just delete this comment bro
I watched this anime years ago and I'm STILL waiting on a season 2. I have no idea why they stopped and I tried to look for reasons but couldn't find anything. It's the same animation as Hellsing Ultimate, the characters are FIRE, the fights are amazing and the story is very interesting. I don't understand how this anime just disappeared years ago. It's basically a similar anime to Fate/Apocrypha where two historical figure teams fight each other. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY Recommend this anime even with it only having one season.
I think it was because at the time there were carching with the manga that at that time only have like 3 or 4 volumes? 🤔 kohta hirano likes to take his sweet time doing his mangas (volume 7 was releasend in august 2023 ) so..yeah lmaybe when he finally finish the manga we can have a season 2
Was very expensive to make with the artstyle and didn't do too well in Japan. Which is the only viewerbase that matters as it's where most revenue comes from (most non-japanese anime/manga consumption is still pirated). It's the reason why anime that get multiple seasons can seem a bit different from those that find success in the west. It's only if those most popualr shows in the west are also succesful in Japan do they keep going. And unpopular shows in the west that are popualr in Jpana also get multiple seasons

8:10 i've watched it as it aired, and it was pretty cool. But it has the same problem as a lot of anime do. Just a short 1 season, no conclusion or anything. So, at least to me, it feels like not worth (re)watching, when u only get the build up and then left hanging
