Fun fact: all the art for the endings was done by So-Bin, the illustrator for the light novel. Basically straight from the pages of the source material itself!

Overlord is one of the rare animes where the openings are consistently bangers lol

@@esoes835 It's very common with Japanese groups like that for members to go solo. It's nothing new, and the motivation is usually to get a better living once you've become more well-known from being in the group. Mayu is far from the first, and far from the last.

Sadly season 5 is very unlikely at this point. Author went through bonafide meltdown and is using any excuse to not write.

@@saltyfish7626 with s1 being volume 1-3, s2 being 4-6, s3 being 7-9, s4 being 10-11 and 14, and the movie being 13-14, all there is left to adapt is 15-16. Also supposedly because maruyama got mad with fan translations of the evileye side story there is only going to be 18 volumes, so adapting it when there is 17 volumes would make no sense, so given that we have to wait for 2 more volumes to release and then for the studio to pick it up again, I would say there is a long time till another season.

Legit man. All 4 songs are all so insane, all unskippable bangers. Very rare for a anime to have bangers for EVERY season without fail.

17:30 They didnt exactly "choose" the music since all of them were made for the show.
Also something i point out in every reaction: All 8 songs were made by 6 people! (and unnamed producers for the 4th ED).
OP 1,2 and 4 are sung by OxT (pronounced as Hokuto). One Member, Tom-H@ck, decided to make a new Group to help young talent learn the ways of the industry etc. and thus came about Myth&Roid with their debut single "L.L.L" which is the first ED for Overlord sung by Mayu Maeshima who later came back as a solo artist for ED 4. ED 2 and OP 3 are sung by their current singer: kiHow.
Pretty sure Tom Hack also did ED 4.

I can't say this in any other way but any MYTH & ROID or Mayu Maeshima (used to be a singer in MYTH & ROID) songs are the best. If you do react to Re:Zero openings and endings you're gonna hear her more. There are some other shows she's sung for as well, but that's for another time. Love the damn show too. Oh, and the other guys singing sometimes, OxT, they are good too.
Edit: Ending 2 never fails to give me goosebumps.

The show is similar, it starts good enough, then better and better, you realize at some point you're so immersed that you have no idea who to root for, one of my favorite.

Overlord is the history of a protagonist that slowly turns more evil over time, and since he was very powerful from the start, the situation for the people of that world gets more and more desperate.
and I love it. Ainz Actually doesn't give a fck about anyone who doesn't bow to him. honestly when he killed those adventurers I was like, broh spare them... why the F did they even show their sad backstory before they got absolutely tortured to death :D

For me Overlord has the most consistent bangers for every opening and ending. I'd say they worst one is an 8.5

I thought these were only OPs and was a bit sad, and then I wanted to pause the video only to see EDs too. My day has peaked and it can't get any better than this.

Obviously, I love every single one of these songs, but I have a special place in my heart for ed 4. Once you know the story behind the skeleton man at the end there (the lyrics talk about him, just fyi), the song just leaves you with a kind of melancholy and sadness.
have you seen the intro for Saga of Tanya the evil? (Jingo Jungle) I think it shares some DNA with Overlord and the show is great. (The credits song is also really good Los! Los! Los!)

Yo, if you ever decide to watch Overlord, then i recommend you to also watch it in English or German dub. (Since you're Austrian, i just kind of assume you speak and understand Hochdeutsch)
This is one of the rare cases where all languages are a unique experience, while still getting the same points across.
It's an immerisve isekai - set in a near future where 'Deep Dive Immersion' (VR on Steroids basically) has become a staple of the gaming industry - that almost immediately comes to terms with the futility of going back to the 'old world' and embracing that new responsibilities await in the 'new world', while the main character still tries to cope with the fact that he might never see his best friends ever again.
Now, over to the dubs:
The English dub features a really great cast, some of the best casting since Hellsing Ultimate (if you've ever watched that), and especially the VA for the MC is overwhelmingly good.
And then, the special one, German.
The German dub features some really great VA's, but the script and voice for the main character can feel a bit... off at times.
However, it's not bad, it's just that he was written in a much more comedic manner and spoken by someone who uses a gruff voice that lends a certain inherent vulgarity to his manner of speaking. Of course, some of the English vernacular, as well as most Japanese names can sound very forced when spoken by a german.
The MC is kinda written like this almost stereotypical "Hauptschul-Jobber", Pretty much perfectly in character, though laid on a bit thick.
He is rather vulgar, using slang in most of his sentences that would fit the whole aesthetic of who he is as a person.
He adapts a very personal way of speaking, making him stand out from the rather stifling japanese honorific and the lordly tone he adapts in the english adaptation
this also makes this version of him feel slightly more comedically inept than the others.
HOWEVER, during the times where he actually has to be full-on serious, or even outright bloody mad, he is REALLY good. Stefan Kaminski, good man.
(Though, i honestly wouldn't mind hearing Tilo Schmitz voice the MC, if he was supposed to be played in a more 'lordly' fashion.)
TL;DR I really recommend watching Overlord, even the dubs! It can get funny, it can be wholesome and it can also be horrendously dark and absolutely evil. It's a WIN-WIN!

Overlord is basically "what if main character was a villain?"
More like, "what if the protagonist went fully evil over time?"
Overlord is story about all these side characters beside the one from Nazarick trying to survive against natural disaster that is Nazarick.
All the openings and endings of 「Fire force」 are also great. Please try it if you like.

If you liked these, you'll also like the re zero music. Myth and roid the band does some of the music for both. Both are pretty dark in their own different ways.
All op and ed 10/10 but my favorite op is 3 and ed 4. I recomend react' ops and eds of Re:Zero .🍷

@@MrAnimeAlex1 you should check idaten tachi opening (when the weak go marching in · tatsuya kitani). in my opinion its one of the best op even if the anime is not really good.
For the openings, my order of preference is: 1, 4, 3, 2. I don't really have any preference for the endings. I don't know why.
Hihi, think you might like this tidbit if you haven't heard before. The artist NateWantsToBattle does an English rock cover of Clattenoia. It's pretty good.
Ya but overlord has some of the best Op and Ed of all anime easily only a few series can match it.
IMO only series like Gintama, Re zero and a few more can match its consistency.

Overlord is about a game where the protagonist is trapped inside, but it's not a real game
Overlord was originally a Light Novel series turned into an anime.
Overlord is about a guy who was the leader of a guild in an mmorpg but the game servers shut down after 12 years and most of the players leaving. The main character role played as basically a lich king. When the servers shut down the MC and his guild hall were transported to a completely different world/universe on a planet different from earth. This world is a typical fantasy world. The MC was turned into an actual lich and all the npcs in the guild hall came to life as real beings. The MC was the guild leader and last member of his guild still playing the game. But this world is not the game he played or earth. It's a completely different universe.
Overlord is about a MC who got transported as his game character from the game to another world at the day of the game's shutdown.
The story itseld based on the Light Novel, yeah the plot was about world in-game..

I would recommend actually reading the novel instead of watching the anime, dont get me wrong the anime is still an imense banger, but the novels dive so much deeper into the characters and the brutal reality of that world. The Anime and Manga are actually kinda tame compared to what the novel describes.
Also the audio book is read by the English voice actor for our favorite Skelly boi in the show

The music is amazing, it’s a shame the anime is mid because the people who made it don’t know how to adapt a novel and keep it entertaining
Sadly, Overlord was never meant to be proper anime, is just 12 Giant adds per season for the novel.
Voractity(Opening 3) is one of my favorites of all time, up there with Database by Man With a Mission from Log Horizon; they just fit their respective anime so well. (Coincidentally, they've both been covered by AmaLee to great effect)
