Hell yeah Oxt and Myth & Roid were crazy good back when Overlord came out, very 2014 feel to them. Even now with the latest openings and ending, Oxt is very experimental with clear vocals while Mayu Maeshima, the voice of Myth & Roid during it's tenure as musicians for Overlord is a crazy good singer with a very wide range of emotion and character, even tho Myth & Roid was dropped in Overlord 4's ending, the singer Mayu Maeshima did the ending, so it was TECHNICALLY the "OLD Myth & Roid" who did that ending.

The art is not specifically from the light novels, but it was made by the same guy that did the art in the light novels, so-bin. Also, Overlord started as a web novel before it became a light novel. Regardless, it’s a great connection.

The songs are called Daten and Call of the Night respectively (the song was actually named after the manga the anime adapts with the author's permission lol). They also did a really good OP for Mashle, called Bling Bang Bang Born. Edit: said that backwards. The song was first, which inspired the manga, then became the anime ED. My B.

If you're curious, i would highly suggest watching this series. The skeleton dude, Ainz-sama, is the main character of this Isekai, and it is very interesting because it's not a typical villain story and absolutely not a normal heroic story. And on top of that, it does very well to flesh out characters and has points where you're just catching up with other parts of the world and not even seeing the main crew in a way that shows deep worldbuilding
I think Overlord is the best Isekai. But I can also understand if people disagree with that. It's unique somewhere and you don't know what's coming next. Of course there were some boring or less interesting parts, but this is the only Isekai I'm looking forward to the new episodes. Mushoku disappointed me from the second season onwards, Re:zero was exhausting and often boring and Konosuba is not worth mentioning anyway. I haven't seen Slime and I've only seen one season of Eminence, which wasn't bad but no better. Iruma-kun is also quite funny, but not quite as serious.
@@shisuna4030 I would agree with you simply because the bar for isekai anime is really low. I wouldn’t place overlord anime in top 50 anime though. The story jumps around a ton with little explanation and half the episodes are setup for the arc it’s on. I’m sure it would make much more sense to someone who read the novels, but the anime is lacking some critical components of a great show.

Masayoshi Ōishi is a phenomenal singer for OxT. He also did the OP for The Legendary Hero Is Dead. It's called Shinda! and you would LOVE it. MYTH & ROID did many of the songs you listened to, with the main singer being Mayu Maeshima. She recently did the OP for Villainess Lvl 99 called LOVE or HATE? that is a total banger.

Also you said the ending visuals were kind of lame but beautiful, but actually all the ending visuals were drawn by the illustrator for the original source material for Overlord, which is very neat. It is a very good series, I think you would enjoy it. My only problem with the show is some occasional poor CGI, but other than that, it's peak. Also yes, skeleton guy is the main character for the show.

I can't think of many bands that do better anime openings than Myth&Roid. They are flawless!
