So far, this is the onky anime to get me to buy the light novels because i NEEDED to know what happened next after the anime stopped after season 3, i love it, should definitely give it a watch.
this story is really cool, from a light novel reader POV. it's kinda like dungeon and dragon + VR futuristic mmo game world merged together where guilds/players roleplay as a certain race in the game, conqueror and explore. Ofc, the setting isn't in the game world but their game is interesting since it allows a ton of freedom of player's own creation and conquest system, like how people can create their own npc and stuff. The race that the mc chose, including his guild members, are seen as a bunch of villains since they're all inhuman race. People who pick the human race or other human-like race picked on them a lot so they just decide to roleplay as such and basically created a whole social problem where they're the one where all guilds would try to destroy first to the point where they had 10+ guilds alliance just to take down Ainz' guild. But unlike them, his guild basically figured out an extremely overpowered cheat with the game's tower defense mechanics where it's literally impossible for anybody to successfully raid their guild. Which ainz guild had made a big name for themselves ranking in the top 10 guild in the whole server at one point before people started quitting because they had a life. Which is honestly so real and I like it. The entire gist of the world environment/society of the mc is that of a 1984 george orwell book, but instead of the government, its the omega corporations that control the world and the work environment for an ordinary worker, including people being underpaid and forced to work overtime and stuff. its basically a dystopian. Some of Ainz guild members literally got killed after accidentally hearing about a corrupt company secret in their workplace from the mouth of some executives in his office. There was a side story in the novel that went over it and how the guy shared this with Ainz/momonga and after a couple of days, he stopped logging in entirely which mc heard in the news about a certain death/"suicide" from someone with similar description to one of his guild members. Also our irl mc lives in a small apartment, the room only has a futon (sleep on the floor), a fridge, and a VR headset station. Thats all he has partially because hes also saving his money but also, outside of the VR-world, he had nothing he ever wanted. Which is ofc, his escape and happiness.
one thing from milions i love about this show is that you can choose who is good and who isnt its such a perfect story that i cant do nothing more than recommend this show
You're going to enjoy this anime, i also highly recommend the books since theres a lot of descriptive details in them that unfortunately never made it into the anime.

This Anime's story is really really awesome. Its definitely my 2nd fav after One Piece and i highly recommend watching it! The best way ive heard it described is: "an H.P. Lovecraft Parody" Also something i point out in every reaction: All 8 songs were made by 6 people! OP 1,2 and 4 are sung by OxT (pronounced as Hokuto). One Member, Tom-H@ck, decided to make a new Group to help young talent learn the ways of the industry etc and thus came about Myth&Roid with their debut single "L.L.L" which is the first ED for Overlord sung by Mayu Maeshima who later came back as a solo artist for ED 4 (Producer was likely Tom-h@ck again). ED 2 and OP 3 are sung by their current singer: kiHow.
What's funny is just how many main points you hit on without any context other than what was presented to you in the opening/closing animations. I honestly hope you take the time to watch all four seasons that are currently out and the movie coming out in the next year. I also hope you take some time to read the light novels so you can get some extra context. Overlord is genuinely good.
The openings are interestingin that they actually show some somewhat spoilery stuff... but without context. You really only understand most of the hints present AFTER you've watched the full season. I've watched a ton of anime in my time and this one is still easily one of my favorites of all time.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but the reason the ending scenes are different is literally because they took the artwork from the light novels and animated them. It’s the mangaka’s actual work just animated.

the person drawing overlord just has a huge turn on for albedo, its why all the ending have her in them, cause the endings use the actual art from the manga
Overlord is great although season's 3 CGI a bit weaker then the rest, and everything connects and there are hidden things if you watch carefully you lean about later ;) it is well worth the watch. the art work for the ending is by So-bin who does the art for the novels illustrations.
Why not? The most "difficult" thing about understanding everything that is going on in the show is that a lot of information and explanation is provided through implication rather than recitation ... there is a lot that is said without being said. It is done well. I do not see anything that is so anime specific that it would be completely lost on someone not already familiar with its peculiarities and its tropes.
It's time you reacted to chainsaw man opening and all endings. The show has one opening and 12 different endings. This anime is hype 💯Best of mordern day anime. I will be waiting for the video 👍
