The vehicle you were behind was a TerraGator. They use it to apply dry pellet fertilizer and lime to fields with air pushing the product through the fold out booms on the sides, also the vehicle cannot go over 35 mph as it is geared to go at low speeds in fields.

Is it bothersome when drivers take more than enough room to park when they could park closer and another rig or 2-3 could park in the space they take up? Are some trailer problems easier to overlook than others? Congrats on the two-year physical check-up! Do you like Ritz or Hi-Ho crackers with your tuna? Enjoy you're vids Jack, drive safely.

Oregon sure looks like a nice place.I like the way you look at the world, your movies definitely have an identifiable quality of their own which makes them a little quirkier than others.I think its cause you take the time to stand down and chillax with a coffee, and take in the view.Nice movie and God bless you Mr Jack

    nice film as always
your DR. visit sure was better than mine , i found out about 1 mth ago now since i was to this Dr.
that i had throat cancer , that's why my voice was disappearing on me i'm down to a whisper as i write this i start treatments this coming week i hope. DR. said that thinking caught it in time , i have to go to DR. every day for 7 weeks for a 10 min treatment or so he said
i sure as heck hope he is right on every thing he has told me so far.
    t.c. be safe out there

Why do they take 5hours to load your trailer that's nuts. If the order is ready to ship you would think it would be staged and ready to load. Use to haul SC Johnson products they had me loaded up in 20 minutes.....Was it loose stacking or pallets???Great video Jack the scenery was great.........what does that beeping sound come thru to ask you to scale the load???

    • @LoneWolf1965
      @LoneWolf1965 7 лет назад

Steven Herrera it's odd they do that. I was able unload and reload a trailer in less than an hour. must be fork lift drivers that are to lazy to figure it out. but I guess that's the difference between me an "operator" compare to someone who simply "drives" a forklift.

I just did a similar run through there last trip. It was pretty cool to see you hit up a few spots I did stop at on that trip.
Was that US 730 you were on when you were stuck behind that slow moving truck? I had to go to Pasco, and I was considering going that way there, but instead took I-82 up, The way you went was the route I couldve taken instead. Pretty cool to get a look at alternate route that you took.
Also, OR, WA and ID have a different Pre-Pass system. Theirs is called NorPass. From what I understand, because of this all of us with Pre-Pass get red lighted all the time because were not on the NorPass system.
Either way, love the videos, theyre great. I can show others where I go because it seems you go to many places I go to often. It is cool to see places I go through often and the experience of going through there on your videos. Keep up the excellent work driver!

That large tyred, slow moving three wheeled vehicle that held you up for a while on the road is called a Terragator. They are used to apply products to the fields such as fertilizer, spray, manure etc. Large tyres mean low ground pressure = less soil compaction when carrying heavy weights. Less soil compaction generally means better root growth and development = better crop yields.

Hey Jack will 97 take you to Hermiston Oregon ? Oops you just answered my question the Last time I was in Hermiston Oregon I got robbed while walking to my truck this was back in 1987when I was running doubles with my brother they had just 1 cop and car it was $450 cash I had just cashed a comcheck and this guy followed me out of this Greyhound bus station around back and stuck a gun in my face never did find him I figured he needed to get on a bus real bad but if he had just asked for help I probably would have bought him a bus ticket but that's how it goes sometime but anyway Jack I had to tell you my story the route 97 and the river kind of looked familiar but great film today thanks for the ride along be safe and stay away from bus stations please. ~Jimm601

They are interesting also. John (JBG TRAVELS) goes into a lot of detail about what he does when trucking from backing up to drop & hook to fueling, etc. he shows how to drop a trailer. Pulling the pin, unhooking the lines and dropping the dolley legs, etc. check him out if you have time. He is a fillipino and a really great guy! Safe travels, Jack ! Peace ✌🏻️

Just to lend an unwanted hand... Madras is pronounced "MAD-ris" (kind of like mattress with d's). Ha. I won't dirty my tires on the Pilot pavement at Chemult - one of their pump jockeys gave me a ration unnecessarily when the pumps over-charged me. I'll stop at the PRIDE station just up the road for diesel. The rest stop south of town takes care of my other needs. Thanks for the neat videos.

Shaniko is considered a bit of a ghost town. A tiny fraction of what it used to be. It's pronounced SHAN-ick-o. It used to be the terminal end of a railroad that went down to the columbia river, the purpose of which was to haul WOOL from the sheep farmers. Unfortunately, the climate changed in the early 1900's and the rains stopped, and so no good rains for growing forage. Thus, Shaniko lost the railroad, and then fell into disuse and all the people moved away. It's now just a ghost town / tourist trap.

    Good video Jack ..
After watching truckin' videos from the US and Europe, and ship spotting movies that have one monster ship after another steaming into Rotterdam for instance, and the log jam of trucks at the cross channel ports in Holland, France and the UK ..
Things just don't seem right.. they say every item on the shelves of Australia's largest supermarket chain, has made the 540 mile journey between Melbourne and Sydney at least seven times, it looks like seaborne traffic is run on the same lines.
American trucking no less, the yards with hundreds of "empties" and the trucks rollin' in every direction, gives rise to suspicion someone is financing massive and totally unnecessary truck movements.

Another great video, Thanks. The scenery along that river was wonderful. I guess they pull you into the scales to justify paying the guy that sits there. I think that's how it works.

I’ve stayed at that truck stop. I think the locals call that city “MA-drus”, not “muh-DRAS”.

Great video, I made the same run to the distribution center in Hermiston last month. US-97 isn't a whole lot of fun in the snow.

I remember when they had all that controversy about the spotted owl and, which curtailed the logging industry. But that was so long ago it wouldn't have effected the lack of toilet paper shortage on the west cost.

that truck with the wide tires was a fertilizer truck, used to spreading stuff on growing crops. the tires are wide enough to spread the vehicles weight over a large enough area as to not damage the crops they are dusting. loved the video, new to your channel. i live in the pnw, and i was broke down in hermiston hauling a load of coke out of wilsonville to missoula.
