Deep Purple in Rock was my first album , still a big fan of this album, it blows my minds, still listening at age of 62 ❤
To understand how great they were you should imagine that you in 1970 and you just get the vinyl In rock album and you heard Hard loving man !!! For those who lived there in 1970 it was a shock to hear something like this song!

I was 17 mate and was completely blown away!
I bought In Rock and Master of Reality at the same time at 6pm.
By 6am I'll have to say Master of Reality was better .

Was a young drummer age 14, had a nice kit but really wanted a Ludwig like Mr Paice. Christmas came and got my presents, said to mum and dad I'm off out now. Wait said mum, there's something else. Spare bedroom, there it was, Ludwig super classic in silver sparkle. Still got it, my pride and joy. I'm 65 now and still playing them. Thanks mum and dad, sadly gone now. RIP 🙏

I was nine years in 1970. My sister was 5 years older than me and she had hundreds of old 45s and I heard Hush from outside her bedroom and thought it was one of the best songs I ever heard. When I first heard Born to Be Wild i knew that was the kind of music I wanted to hear. I went to the record store and I saw Deep Purple In Rock in the new release section. I really liked Hush so I took a chance and bought In Rock. When I got back home I put the album on my GE Wildcat Stereo. Speed King came crashing through the speakers and I was totally blown away. My mom came in MLK y room and said Turn It Down. I said mom it's fantastic isn't it. She laughed. That music won't last long. You will put grow it. Well it changed my look life. Child in Time was methodical and the vocals and musicianship were heads above anything I have ever heard. I had bought the first Black Sabbath Album about 2 or three months before. I bought that album because of the name and I thought that album would be the pinnacle of music. I was wrong In Rock may be the most influential album in Rock History. Lars Ulrich is absolutely right. Deep Purple was in a league of their own and heads above Zeppelin and Sabbath. They were just better than everyone else. Uriaheep came very close.

This is how I remember Deep Purple at their best, some of Gillian's best singing and Blackmore 's best riffs , the whole band sounded great and busted their ass

Roger Glover is under rated like most bass players. He had the black rickenbacker way before Getty Lee not as good as Getty but top 12 in the world. Produce rainbow 🌈 judas priest Rory Gallagher Nazareth to name a few and elf Dios first band. He also had a dream for famous smoke on the water. He woke up and said smoke on the water he named the biggest hits. Awesome lyricist with Gillan. He big part of Purples sound words countless contributions to Purple never got credit he deserves.

Первый магнитный альбом , который появился у меня в 71г. Мастерство и красоту музыки я оценил позже, а тогда был просто щенячий восторг. Я прыгал до потолка. Это полный улет!!!

Я же будучи студентом института, впервые услышал этот альбом в далеком 1971 году, на перезаписанной магнитофонной ленте, но… и этого мне хватило полюбить музыку Дип Пе пла на всю оставшуюся жизнь, мне уже восьмой десяток лет, как и в молодые годы с удовольствием слушаю и смотрю ДП, в основном состав MKII: Д.Лорд, Я.Гиллан, Р. Блэкмор, Р.Гловер и Я. Пейс

Mark 2 created their own genre with this monumental album. A genre of which only they ever played. These five were quite simply the greatest group of pure rock musicians of all time. It was a miracle they ended up together in the first place. They were both the greatest and saddest story in rock.
Sad story? Half of Uriah Heep committed suicide.

I think Ritchie wrung the last drop of blood out of his strat at the end there... he’s the best! Been listening to In Rock for 40 years now and it still sounds fresh!

купил сборник все альбомы Deep Purple и вкусил настоящего музла, дальше было интересней и интересней, но эта группа незабываемая и стоит особняком, как какой-то что ли эталон, даже слушая сейчас, понимаешь что это просто космос.
10 летним пацаном я услышал эту композицию на дядином магнитофоне.Это было потрясение и восторг......Реплы и сейчас для меня -любимая группа.Это Боги рока!!!
Из всех известных хардовых групп 70-ых с этими я, как более позднее поколение, познакомился позже, чем с остальными. Теперь даже не понятно, о чем спор... Они куда прогрессивнее и разнообразнее и Цеппелинов и Саббатов. Там даже если просто посчитать по жанрам, в которых пепловцы играли, уже большое превосходство. И ипровизировать так как они никто больше не умел. Это не просто так, ведь оба мотора команды, Блекмор и Лорд, с муз. образованием, а Пейс с малых лет воспитывался отцом-музыкантом и не расставался со скрипкой. Много ли было рок-музыкантов, на которых тратили время и внимание музыканты из мира классики, создавая общие проекты? На людей влияет мнение критиков (часто малограмотных) и журналов, но, все, что они способны навязать - это популярность. Что взять с критиков и журналов, внесших в Зал Славы Рока вот этих гигантов всего лишь несколько лет назад - после многочисленных панк и даже реп (!) исполнителей. Что с них взять, если они даже не оценили размах такого произведения, как "Кончерто", где сами пепловцы (!!!) написали все партии для себя и для Королевского филармонического оркестра. Это просто другой, "зароковый" уровень. Я помню, когда окончательно пришел к решению, что пеплы лучшие. Когда перетасовав множество любимых композиций от любимых групп, в моих наушниках после упомянутого "Кончерто" заиграла композиция Лед Зеппелина. Я просто не смог слушать, мне казалось, что все слишком сумбурно и аранжировка какая-то не такая... нет, я и сейчас слушаю Зеппелин, но... но не первые они, господа критики.

It is incredible how DP paved the way of future Metal in its different branches. This is an example of a galloping riff, typical of many Heavy metal songs that came later.

Тоже заметил,что они как-то выше всех остальных рок групп 70х.Вроде те же Led Zeppelin выпустили и продали гораздо больше альбомов и признаны самой влиятельной рок группой,но для меня Deep Purple все равно как-то авторитетнее

Поразительная сыгранность всех участников, абсолютное понимание друг друга. В то же время никто, даже вокалист, не находится постоянно на первом плане перед слушателями. Между музыкантами все время идет ярое соперничество, каждый изо всех сил стремится хоть ненадолго выйти на первый план. Это и есть уникальная особенность DP.
Let us be correct til the end. I think that many fans of Deep Purple will agree , "Hard lovin' man" is not the very best of Deep Purple.But this mighty composition already makes Deep Purple the first among the greatest groups!

Mark 2 was quite simply the greatest group of pure rock musicians ever. This from their monumental "In Rock" album in which they created their own genre. A genre of which only they ever played.
If you replace the name of the band with "Smiths" the same would apply so its a matter of taste.

Hehe... Imagine what people must have thought back then, when it first came out. I mean... just look at some of that in-TV-studio footage of Purple from that time (of which I believe there are quite a few examples here on RUclips)... When Jon and Ritchie goes totally bananas during f.ex. Mandrake Root, all the innocent teenagers in the audience are just sitting there gaping as if they've seen the evil one himself hahaha...
