Exactly but 100% the parents should definitely be held responsible in some way parents, especially the father, are responsible for the behavior of their minor children, which is our job and not the police one.

@johnp4471 I doubt it was even called a joke till they got caught as so many of them have been online calling what they do a "joke" or "parody" each time they get confronted for bullying someone or shown how they were hypocrites. Where if you sent someone in to agree with them they will claim what they were doing wad totally done to be destructive and hateful and I have relatives that would tell on these types of people who thought it was funny when they went about causing issues. In fact I have neighbors that would tell me about these types all the time when one figured that being destructive was cute which I give them props for which I heard that these nuts labeled our building as "sntiches" as I guess they can't go around and play games like they do elsewhere where said nut said "if I lived in that building someone would be going to the hospital for running their mouth" aka being a good Samaritan.
Kinda like that fool who claimed she was joking about a bomb and the airport that got mad when they lead her out in handcuffs.

Claims of "bogus" appears a little hollow when the young man has a small arsenal. Were the parents aware of all these weapons?

Too many parents today are clueless how to raise kids today. They’d rather be their buddy or friend than be an actual parent. You can’t tell me this kid’s parents didn’t know he had all these weapons. And what did they think he was going to do with them at age 11. We need more Sheriff’s like this guy

Since he won't go to jail, all you did was show him off to all his friends, which he'll probably think was cool.

I thought the same thing. His parents will probably sue the sheriff's department and get a big settlement. We need to find out what is causing kids to behave this way. Me and my buddies had air soft toys like that when we were kids but we knew better than to use them to make threats.

I think the police need to focus on the bullies that lead him to do that. Take care of the bully problem and he wouldn't even be thinking about that.

Thousands of kids are bullied every day across the world, not just in America. They don't pick up guns and shoot up a school. This is a failure in parenting....not bullying.

As a teacher, I know the time has come for this to happen. Parents must be held responsible. The bad parents and kids have way too much power in the school system and legal system and they know it. Everybody else is running scared--administrators, teachers, and students. When a child does something to hurt another kid, the parents of the injured kid can't even find out what the punishment is because the perpetrator gets all the protection.

  • @angelinahunter182

It's about time! Note that this kid's action has cost the penal system a staggering $20,000 SO FAR!
But I would be worried about creating a rap sheet for a kid this young and then leaving them with unfit parents (that would permit amassing all those weapons in a setting that was presumably the kid's childhood home.)
Perhaps because I worked in a award-winning school for at-risk youth in Manhattan I believe that left in that household there may be no guidance to turn this kid toward a better path. And foster care is sometimes as bad or worse -- HOW to get a kid like this the help they need (and at what financial cost?)

Good!!! I learned that lesson long ago, I'm 64...when I shoplifted candy!!! The cops put us in their car, parents were called. We were "scared straight"...I was only Ten and never, ever shoplifted again!!!

Is the boy really owning those weapons? Or did he just steal videos online? If he really found those in his house, his parents definitely responsible.
The only positive thing about this case: the boy is still young, after puberty he would be unrecognizable to the public, but not his record tough.
