Abandoned & Forgotten Places
Documenting abandoned mines like never before!
Let's take abandoned mine exploring to the next level!
With your support you can help make this the best abandoned mine exploring channel on RUclips!
Shot entirely in 4K! ...so, turn up those video settings!
On this channel we go deep... REALLY DEEP into abandoned mines and tunnels all throughout the western United States. We researched some of the harder to find mines and hiked or 4x4 back into them to explore and reveal their hidden secrets. Many of these remote locations are filled with cool artifacts, antiques and unique geology that will have you guessing as to why the old prospectors worked so hard to find gold, silver, and other minerals.
A&FP moves just a bit slower as compared to other mine exploring channels. Gly discusses why the miners chose these sites and he points out the geology and minerals that got them excited. Veins of quartz filled with gold and silver made many men lose sleep in the 1800’s and early 1900’s and modern prospecting still does to this very day.
DANGERS? Oh yes, there’s allot of dangers associated with old mines. Un-exploded dynamite, blasting caps, bad air, bats, spiders, and snakes all find their home in abandoned mine shafts and tunnels. Oh, and let’s not forget rotting timbers, flooded passages and collapsing rock!
Gly takes abandoned mine exploring seriously with all the proper safety equipment, training, and experience necessary to do this activity as safe as possible but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a bit of fun along the way. “Gly”, your host and his band of crazy characters “Old Bob” (Gly’s Jeep), “Quackers” (Gly’s duck) and “Bobbie” (Gly’s hula girl) are sure to brighten your day with their comments and silly antics. Heck, they may even give you a chuckle or two.
Just like Saturday morning cartoons before the internet was invented, Abandoned and Forgotten Places uploads each Saturday at 7:00AM PST. (that’s 10:00AM for you eastern folks) so don’t forget to click that subscribe button and bell icon to receive notifications of new episodes!
Please LIKE, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE and COMMENT! All these things help grow our channel and your financial support helps us find new locations and helps put fuel into “Old Bobs” tank. Old Bob, thanks you!
Ok, now for the ugly stuff...

“Gly”: Good morning everyone! I just wanted to say thank you once again for helping the channel reach 140K subscribers. YOUR AWESOME!! If you haven’t seen the video where we first visited this mine please go to Episode 101 or click on the link in the description area below. There you will see all the other artifacts we found in this mine. Have a great weekend!
@DAMIAN WAGNER We call them a coyote hole.
I got stuck in an adit above Canyon City, Ore., lucky my partner was behind me to pull me back The back of the mine caved on my back going out. The was bones of a dead coyote in the tunnel. He didn't make it out.
Thanks so much for sharing with us! Neat stuff!
@@PabloDiablo682 There's less of them in mines then there are topside. Unless you're wading through bat guano, mines are pretty sterile...Well, okay, maybe not badger holes.
18 minutes in and I'm like. Yeah you're definitely nuts.
A true claustrophobia inducing episode. When you were squeezing through the gap I had to take a break to catch my breath. Man you are nuts!
I've never been an anxious person, but I was about to lose it watching him do that 😆
Yeah I was thinking the exact same thing
Oh my God I was TERRIFIED!!!
Only this, and Mr. Ballen' videos about cave diving have made me need to breathe while I watch them
“You’d have to be out of your mind to go down in here” as Gly casually makes his way down lol
I was shouting at my screen "Don't do it Gly! It's too small!" XD
It was down-right scary to watch Gly squeezing through one too-tight place you could get trapped behind after another. I kept telling myself the title doesn't have "In Memoriam" in it so he did make it out alive.
Jug? Demijon,Probably held scrumpy or cider,or moonshine it's for brewing
"Thanks for inviting us along?"............... THANK YOU(!!!) for the added burden of toting that camera system and Bringing Us Along! You, Randy and Mister M are the best, Gly. As long as you're 'upright and wasting oxygen,' I'll be doing the same as I enjoy your shows.....
10:25 "You would have to be out of your mind to go down in here" proceeds to go down in there... 🤣🤣🤣
What you are showing us is really cool and all, but safety is paramount ! ! Don't get yourself hurt for us.
This one is really one of the Best explorations that I've seen. You can feel curiosity, and the spirit of boldly going forvard for the sake of it. Just go on, and never stop man. You have all our support!
“Gly”: Thank you very much!
OMG!! at 19:57, squeezing through that little space made my palms sweat!! and I am at home!! You are just amazing which is why you made it to 140k subscribers!! Keep it coming! Thanks for taking us along and teaching us about the mining business!!
Yay! Happy 141K! ...and... "You have to be out of your mind to go down in here," says Gly, going down in there. Love you dudes. Wonderfulness and stopey winzey goodness abounds! Holy cats, those are squeezy spaces. I have seen neolithic mines in the Netherlands that were that claustrophobic...never thought you'd be squirming through them in Nevada. Exciting stuff! Love the narration. THANK YOU for this awesomeness!
Really missed Mr. M, you really notice when he isn’t there. Congrats on hitting 140,000 subscribers! Much deserved.
19:40 minutes in and I'm so happy to see you squeeze in that little drift down there.....means that you feel better and that's the best thing we can see..... A bit sad not seeing Mr. M. I remember he said that he would have "b/roled" this explore when reaching 10k subs..... But I can understand why he couldn't get that far down there. But you have a very good exploring partner, randy is a great man too....
Thank you guys for every explore you share with us.....
Stay safe....
“Gly”: He knows his limitations and I never push him past his comfort level. Well… most of the time. Lol
@@AbandonedandForgottenPlaces so much love for the old one 😂
19:10 I am glad you are the one doing this shit because that sort of tight situation in a cave makes my skin crawl just watching it. Been there done that when I was younger cave exploring, and never again!
Fantastic!!!, and I remember when you broke 10,000 subscribers.
congrats on the 140K subs -- wow, your one crazzzy old man, crawling through those tight places -- but thanks for showing us , cause I wouldn't' go there, that's for sure - LOL
Very cool explore. You certainly went for it on that one. Thanks for showing us. 😎🧨⛏⚒
Congrats on 140K subscribers! After finding this channel a while ago I've gone back and watched all the videos from the beginnings!. What a great progression in technical and cinematic quality!
Instant thumbs up before i watch the video👍
Thanks for letting us tag along with you on this adventure. Great mine ! That narrow drift was hiding all that great material !
Thanks Gly and Randy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another one? Damn this channel gets better and better! Thanks to the entire crew
I remember watching you when it was just you and Bob haha... those were the good ole days but I feel alot more at ease when you have your team with you to help watch over you. Its been fun watching your channel grow and I'm sure you are proud of your achievements thus far. Keep up the great work guys👍
Awesome video! Greetings from the Netherlands!
Congratulations on 140K, a well deserved milestone my friend 😎👍
Yes! Finally! I’ve waited for too long!
Poor Randy you had him a nervous wreck crawling threw that little hole 😆 we love you Randy such a good dude great video guys 👍
Great video Gly. Little sketchy back in that hole. All that cracked rock hanging above you made me hold my breath. Yikes! Let Randy know he's doing a great job. Was cool seeing him really get involved in this mine with you. Tell Mr. M hello and stay safe guys, and Gly...Congrats on hitting the big 140K. Well done and well deserved. See y'all next week.
Excellent channel, real mix of fun facts and entertainment, best on RUclips
“Gly”: Thank you!
That looks really fun. I work at one of the open pit copper mines in AZ, and am always keeping an eye out for artifacts on the native land just off our stockpiles. Only thing I have found so far is an old WF & S MIL bottle that I was able to date to being produced around 1915 to 1920. Our stockpiles up against one of the mountains are full of signs of old prospects and just general older human activity. Anywho, thanks for the fun exploration, and see ya on the next one!
Randy was cracking me up “Hey it’s an old shovel wouldn’t it be funny if there was a yellow rope tied to it”
Oh boi! So much excitement!
I wish I was 19 and 125 lbs too...Loved the explanation of the artifacts. I wish I could explore like I use too, severe back pain prevents me from doing what I like. I really enjoy these Saturday mornings videos
Hi gly _randy great video gentleman well done friends please keep the great videos coming and please please keep safe in the mines for Scotland 🙂
That was really rich with artifacts , to cool !! When you where down in the bottom of that shaft just after shimmying through that hole the camera caught some big chunks of mineral behind you , I tried to pause and get a better look lol
That big ore bucket was awesome , I love that old stuff too... Glad you made it out safe and sound !!
At the 2m 44s mark when Randy shifts the camera to the right he captures an awesome anomaly by Gly's left foot. It move from left to right towards the bottom of the screen... Great capture!
Congrats on the 140k subs! 👍😀
Yeah, what was that?
Yikes! Gly, you are a a brave man. I was getting claustrophobic just watching you climbing into those narrow areas. Best mine exploring adventure yet! Thanks Gly and Randy for a way cool video.
19 and 160 pounds! Same here! 65 and 235 now! That’s why I watch you! Thanks for great entertainment!
Thanks a ton for this video. I've been through many small holes like the one you went through but that was when I was 70, Im 75 now and my body just won't do it anymore.
You always make me gasp at your videos your by far better then riding a rollercoaster. Stay safe my man.
140k subs, congratz :)
Another awesome video! I don't normally like soundtracks in videos but that synthwave fits like a glove. Well done!!
I would NEVER go the places you are going, but after all you have been through, it must make you feel really alive to risk your life!!!!....Best explore yet!!!!!
“Gly”: It really does! The spirit of adventure is palatable.
Awesome episode! Had me sucking in my gut when you were crawling through the skinny. Lol. Good times.
Your videos never cease to amaze me! When you showed what turned out to be a sheet of metal, I at first thought it was a sleeping bear!!! Yep, definitely would be nice to be 18 again when my eyeballs worked better.
One of you best videos so far, Gly. Thank you.
I just found your channel a few days ago and I've been binge watching!! Thank you for doing so much hard work to bring us such amazing content!!
The best part of my Saturday morning! Another quality Episode from Gly Coolness and Randy! Congrats on and hw Awesome 140K subs!
Congratulations on 140k its been a pleasure watching the channel grow from around 40k when we subbed. Its taken us 2 years just to reach 450 🤣. Love how you have developed the cinematics its really come a long way. Keep it up 👊
“Gly”: Thank you!
@@AbandonedandForgottenPlaces no thankyou sir, as someone who has also had to learn all the editing and stuff myself too, I maybe appreciate the time and effort required more so than average joe, its no easy feat and deserves the respect where its due. 👊
Hi from Syracuse NY brother and thank you for sharing your thoughts and adventures and everyone else
Your 140K is well deserved
This was fantastic and Randy is warming up to his roll, talking and being charming and all. I really enjoyed it, Gly even though I was sure this time you are not going to come back out of that narrow hole you slithered through. But of course you did, else there would be no video! :) About your remark wishing you were 18 again; , but we know age has little to do with circumferences. :)
Now I know how the doctor felt when Gly was born! I kinda feel like we should wish him happy birthday 😂 very cool explore!
Possibly one of best explorations ever, and a good advert for "Kelvin Klein" under pants. More please 🙂
Gly this is spectacular I love the close up photos of the artifacts very professional
“Gly”: Thank you! I liked how that turned out myself and I think I’ll be doing more of that in future videos.
When you showed us the empty packet of Chesterfield's, I immediately thought of Steve1989MREInfo reviewing them from old ration/MRE packs
Thank you for going back and showing us all that neat artifacts and I agree on what you did on not showing the griffitti that was written to preserve a priceless gem. They are so rare and hard to find anymore. Love you episodes and I dont miss a one including Mr. M
That was a FUN explore! Thanks!!
Your subscribers have more than doubled in less than a year and I hope it continues to grow even more substantially. Great episode. So many people don't know how interesting this abandoned mine content is until they stumble upon in. I would like to think that you wouldn't have gone into that small opening if you noticed all of that cracked rock above you at 18:35 That should have been beyond your limits, but I guess you didn't know it was that bad until you crawled through.
That was very cool...it is amazing what you will do for your fans.
Thanks Gly and Randy you out did your self on this one thanks again woooow!!!
Its official....this adventure was extremely dangerous. And you got it on video. Just amazing! Really
This is how you know this is one of the real channels
So thrilled to find 2 buckets
Wow!!! That was great to watch, As my Grandfather and Father were both coal miners for the "Victoria Garesfield Colliery", in the North east of England. My Father was just 14 years old when he started working "down the Pit" looking after the pit Ponys, used the pull the full "Tubs" of coal out of the mine. So that's why I love watching your vid's and I wanted to say thank you to all of the team. See you in the next one. R. ;^)
I think we can agree that you are the crazy guy, I mean Gly (!) who does the stuff we kids shouldn't try at home. Thank goodness for that! Congrats on the subscribers. That's awesome.
"Have to be out of your mind to go down in here" and there goes Gly.
Great explore!! Congratulations, I know you will have more subscribers soon! Thanks so much for sharing 😊
Another great adventure Gly. Keep up the good explores. Thanks for taking us al along.
From 2 day,s i look here, waiting for my cancer operation with Davincy operate system, this finding as a miner so incredible exciting to watch. Do not know how to thank you, for this to watch. All the best from Holland (EU) .
You are an absolute MAD LAD. I’m glad you document this, as I am too much of a wuss to do it myself. Not to mention how dangerous it is! I live in Salida, Colorado, and there are over 1,000 abandoned and active mines within a 100 mile radius of my home. I have curiously poked my head into the portals and dug through many a tailings pile (found lots of cool stuff that way) but even if I did have the expertise to actually go inside the mines, it’s almost impossible, as most of them are flooded and blocked by large walls of ice throughout the year. These mines are 10,000 + feet in elevation in the Rocky Mountains. But the history is incredible. I have done a lot of historical recreation work to preserve the buildings, train cars, and cabins built around these mines and mining towns. There is some amazing architecture up here. I bet you would love it here. I could even give you a tour! Lol 😂
Thank you for posting these. Our family enjoys watching these.
Gly, this was awesome, what a terrific video, Edit: Gly please be careful breathing all that dust in we don't want you to get silicosis, be safe out there.
OMG YOU ARE SO BRAVE!!!! Anxiety high major with this one! I’m so glad you made it out safely and I just have to say thank you for doing this! For reals. I would’ve never seen anything like this if it weren’t for you lol wow!!! I can see your excitement lol your buddy says GOD DANG 😂
Well thats dedication to check out the places that look unaccessible and to sketchy for someone who wasnt 100% into making the best possible content earned my sub, plus you said you hit 140 subs on oct 4 which was my birthday so definitly a sign that this channel is worthy of hitting 140 and will no doubt hit a million with this kind of footage . Great video and congrates on the milestone.
Awesome video!!! can't wait to see more!
Damn Gly, did not think you would squeeze down there but there you go! LOL
Thanks for the awesome look down down down the little hole... :-)
Glad you hit the 140k congrats and thanks for the video!
LLAP
Hard to comprehend the amount of blood, sweat and tears that must’ve went into building these mines.
Glad to see you get your stripes back on this one. You are the man.
This was so extreme, that I was nervous just watching you..
Very nice documented mine, and the shiny material on the rock was the best I ever seen on any show...
Thanks for your great work..
I love the amount of thought you put into your work.
Absolutely brilliant I wouldn't have done it myself but thank you Gly love from Lincolnshire England. That ore bucket is a absolute fine one.I think those men who were working in their were a bit smaller than you are Gly one good thing about this upload is that we know you obviously made it out of there 😉😀😜😄👍
Great mine. Thank you for taking us along & climbing all around.
You two went through an insane amount of effort to navigate this place! My only comfort throughout was the knowledge that you must have survived the whole ordeal to upload this video.
Always look forward to these adventures to begin my weekend!
Thanks for the adventure. Got some nice samples too. Love your channel. Very informative. Stay safe.
Awesome video gly :) always cool to find artifacts in mines like these congrats btw looking forward to the next adventure
Great episode. So many interesting artifacts. Enjoyed the close up shots. Really great adventure. Thank you so much for the hard work.
(Happy Birthday, Randy. :-)
Absolutely insane performance with the new camera. Really worth it.
Randy was saying what we were all thinking. That was a little crazy! It got my anxiety up!
@Gly_Coolness Your best video yet imo. Been watching you a long time. Real suspenseful and a claustrophobics nightmare lol. Congrats sir. I can’t wait to see what’s next! Mad props!
Wow, I usually dont get too nervous or claustrophobic, but this one got me! Getting to that raise through the skinny passage was fear inducing😂 great job and congrats on the subscribers!
Love you Gly! Thanks for continuing to upload. You are apart of my weekend relax !!!
I vicariously explore through your adventures. I have ALS, so I'm pretty much paralyzed. Have you ever considered using remote control cameras on a small vehicle or drone to scout those tight squeezes? Stay safe and thank you for letting me virtually tag along!
Congratulations 👏 Thanks Gly and Randy for great episode
Well this is the best of the best. Gonna be hard to beat this episode. I was huffing puffing, groaning right along with you. I was awestruck. Thanks bunches.
“Gly”: Thank you very much I’m really happy you enjoyed it!
