    Fantastic sighting Kim, get yourself over to Mull, almost guaranteed Sea Eagle sightings and I once had four Golden Eagles above my head riding a thermal ... just before I saw my first otter 😊

      That sounds amazing Jayne. Would love to go to Mull. It can be very expensive at the height of wildlife season but I will one day! Sounds like you had an ace time

    Cool stuff. There are some bald eagles in my general area and you will occasionally see one. I saw one not too long ago on the ground as he was walking along a canal looking in the water.

    Kim, as with all your videos so many thanks for this. We were scheduled to go to the Hebrides earlier in the year in the hope of photographing Eagles and Puffins but we had to postpone due to my having some health problems. You have given us some helpful information and we will get there next year

    Good spotting of the eagle, regardless of species! They are magnificent birds! We see bald eagles ccasionally at our cottage in Canada and they are spectacular!So huge, they are quite scary. First time I spotted one, I was being sized up for lunch when I was alone in a kayak well out in the lake! Great video Kim!

      @@kimgrantphotography by a fluke, I caught some great eagle footage on a drone flight yesterday. Put to music, it's now my favourite piece. Check it out: ruclips.net/video/g8YTVUGWrOE/видео.html

    bummer about the eagle--but a juvenile gold--I've yet to see one. ;-) In fact, I don't think I've ever seen any eagle in the wild.
    And I'm glad your friend is allowing himself to appear more in your videos. :-)

    I have seen golden eagles in ireland .They have been reintroduced,but they have not been able to establish a stable population despite being introduced in the early 2000s.The white tailed have been reintroduced more recently about 10 years ago

    So funny :D but for me it would be even a hard time to say if that's an eagle or stork anyway :D
    But in general, is it so that Lewis and Harris is more remote (I mean less crawded and less popular) than Skye?

    • @kimgrantphotography
      @kimgrantphotography  6 лет назад

      It sure is Kasper. Skye is very very busy and is connected to the mainland via a bridge so thousands visit it. Lewis and Harris is a 2.5hr ferry ride from the mainland so less people do it and it can be quite pricey. Well worth it though ☺

    • @kasparl7647
      @kasparl7647 6 лет назад

      @@kimgrantphotography Well, I planned to visit John o'Groats next May(have you been there?), but this can replace the idea. Thanks for insights. I'm looking for those places where are lesser crowds when in nature.. and 2.5h long ferry isn't really much a problem after a flight and probably a looong drive with car (I'm not located in UK)

    Wow, eagles. I remember a few years ago, we were driving towards Skye from Inverness looking for golden eagles. We spotted something and got all excited. My bird watcher friend said sorry mate, it's not a golden eagle. Face dropped. "It's a sea eagle" WTF there were only 18 breeding pairs at that time in the area! And that started my interest in photography again, trying to capture them again. Now I live here near Inverness so hope to see lots more!

    • @kimgrantphotography
      @kimgrantphotography  6 лет назад +1

      That's an amazing story! It's so nice when you come across something unexpected like that and it turns out to be more rare than what you were first looking for. I hope your recent move will open up more eagle opportunities for you.

    • @NealeGray
      @NealeGray 6 лет назад

      Thanks, yes it was. It was 20 years ago so didn't have a decent camera, only some very vague long off shots using an old camcorder, but yes just to say we'd seen it, fantastic!
