    I did this 2 years ago, and it worked perfect! My machine once again had fantastic suction. Last month, I forgot though, and removed the top for cleaning, replaced, but it did not have that great suction again. Today, I watched this again to make sure I remembered properly how I did it, and will redo. Thank you for this video. I had thrown out about 3 excellent condition machines over the years... wasting hundreds of dollars on new ones because of this specific problem. Thank God for youtube repair videos (I've also repaired my washing machine, dishwasher, and soon will attempt my fridge). I am a 65 year old woman with a tiny budget! 😂😂😂

      Love it!!! Nice to save $150... I still can't believe the crappy little seal they put on that tank...

    Or you could just use some type of water safe glue to reattach the gasket/seal to the space in the other half of the tank it actually fits better than trying to put it on that 2mm lip/ridge that it’s meant to connect with. I reattached it into the other half and it’s working great.

      YES! I believe this is the actual engineering design.

    Thank you this was very helpful. 🎉. I just had my stupid little seal break today in the middle of cleaning. Great machine sucky seal!

    I can't agree with you more, I was so glad to find your video, fantastic shampooer but most absurd gasket, not even a solid rubber ring. Guess they want the thing to leak so people will buy a new one?

    Great idea! My steam cleaner gaskets just failed and I wasn’t sure what to do. Thanks for this advice!

    How to remove the plastic tank float cover. I tried to turn it each way. I didn't want to break it?

      Not sure if it can be removed. I can look. Post if you figure it out!

    Are you supposed to go all the way around or just that short strip?

    • @glenvanocker4027
      @glenvanocker4027  2 года назад +2

      It's like sealing an intake manifold with a gasket. You have to have the seal all the way around.

  • @ZachDeedler

    Couldn't you just glue the old gasket back on?

    • @glenvanocker4027
      @glenvanocker4027  10 месяцев назад +1

      No because the contact area is about the width of a Regular screwdriver. There's really nothing to attach the old gasket to. The engineering is so bad on it, That you just don't want to do it. You can re attach it, But it would probably detach in one Use. Although probably not the only solution for the problem, My solution is pretty solid and long term.

    Nice! Gonna do this today. Does the plastic wrap tear? Or does it peel off?

      @@glenvanocker7339 I think I screwed it up lol. Can it be removed? I considered using caulk on the bottom half, just filling the groove. My thought being its flexible enough to shut the lid.

    • @glenvanocker4027
      @glenvanocker4027  Год назад

      @@JimmyKay1976 Should be able to scrape it off, clean with alcohol. If there is any residual, just apply the silicone on top of it.

      @@glenvanocker4027you also didn't answer his question about the plastic wrap cuz I'm also wo dering the same thing

    • @glenvanocker4027
      @glenvanocker4027  Год назад +2

      @@UnFairGuidelines you will allow the silicone to dry for about 45 minutes to an hour. Then put the pat plastic wrap on. The silicone will set up a little bit and make a crust on it, so the plastic wrap will not stick to the silicone; but the silicone will be pliable enough to mold to the seal. I hope that helps.

  • @UnFairGuidelines

    You didn't put the filter back in tho.. and that's messing it all up. Good effort but I'm still a bit confused.

    • @glenvanocker4027
      @glenvanocker4027  Год назад

      You just throw the gasket away, cut a notch on the silicone nozzle, and then make a bead around that Ridge. Let it dry for 45 minutes, then put plastic wrap over the whole thing for 24 hours. Let me know if that works for you!

    • @glenvanocker4027
      @glenvanocker4027  10 месяцев назад

      Yup, put the filter back in. Kinda a quick and dirty video.... Clean rim, apply silicone, wait 1 hr, apply seran wrap, close and latch, wait 24 hours... done. Oh, and put the filter back in...
