Welcome to "Tales from Tuscany"!
We are Marisa and David, Australian expats now living part-time in Chianni Tuscany.
During the Global Pandemic, we decided to buy our Italian dream home, sight unseen and with no prior knowledge of the area.
This is our journey and we are taking you along with us!
TODAY'S VLOG...
As some very noisy and messy work was about to start at "Vivasogni" our little Tuscan home, we decided to escape the mess and drive to Lucca for the day. I'm still very slow and on crutches, so Lucca proved the perfect destination as it's basically flat and easy to get around. We detoured on the way home via a darling seaside village that I'd always wanted to visit. It was definitely worth the detour.

What a treat - we spent 5 days in Lucca last fall, a very special city! It’s a labyrinth 😂. I bought myself a fabulous handmade leather belt at an artisan’s shop there and was able to watch her make it. And, the absolute BEST calzone I have ever had.
I can imagine how much fun you must have had Lynn! I loved my few hours there and can’t wait to visit again. Such a wonderful city to lose yourself down little laneways! So glad you enjoyed visiting it again with us! 🥰♥️🙏🏼💋🇮🇹

Beautiful town there is so much to love about this place. Such a liveable town and I can see why it is so popular with expats. They call Lucca the City of 100 churches absolutely amazing thanks for sharing Marisa. 😍😘💛

I agree Luca is a beautiful place to visit. I was there many years ago and enjoyed every minute of it. You brought back many good memories for me Marisa,. I hope you will feel better soon. Lovely tour, Lucca is beautiful like almost anywhere in that area. Nice to see David growing attached to that crutch during his walkabout. Im eagerly awaiting being stressed with workmen in our place 🤞🙏! Stay positive, all our love ❤️❤️

I think Lucca is the most well-balanced town when it comes to functionality vs touristic charm! No decomposing when we visit again, please!

Buonasera Marisa and David, We just stayed in a villa facing the Chiesa de san Michele while you were there! You photographed our room with a view and you were sitting at the Michele having your treat and filmed us, frame17:45, my husband is looking directly at you, we are sitting on the steps and I am in my purse getting my lipstick ( after just finishing a gelato ! Well done you walking up to the wall! We enjoyed almost daily walks on the wall. Isn't Lucca fabulous? Hope your leg makes a speedy recovery. Buona Salute & Ciao, Sue and Steve from Santa Barbara
