I just saw the grommets and hardware at Hobby Lobby last week. They have an excellent section of handbag hardware, lots of variety, metal, good quality. I'm planning on incorporating more hardware into my clothing upcycles this fall.

Hmm I worry that the fabric would eventually pull out from the purse grommets when you had to stretch the waist to get them on. I think zipper is the way to go, personally.

Love the video. Is the chain that is inside the pants uncomfortable or chafing? I was curious as with this record summer heat, I would think the chain would be uncomfortable.

This may seem like a dumb question but do you have to use pants that have a zipper? The only similar non belt loop waistband pants I have found have an elastic waistband and are more like leggings/jeggings or pull on pants. Would it ruin the functionality of how the pants stay on?
Jessica Polizzi hmmm good question. I think it would work. The only issue would be if the placement of the grommets disrupt the functionality of the elastic. Like if the hole for the grommets is larger than the elastic and essentially cuts through it, the elastic will no longer function. Make sense? But if the elastic is wide enough that you could apply the grommets inside of it, and still have the elastic connected, you should be good.

karina chan oh totally! Technique is exactly the same. And you can use the upholstery ones from Dritz which click into place. They're plastic but so easy to use.
You just don't found the perfect one, it was the ONE, becasue it also fit you beautifully. Love this.
