It's a fun spec for sure! Same category as Dragon Warrior though - should either be brought down a bit in terms of dps, or other Legendary Enchants should be given a buff to allow them to compete! -Xaquillen

Dark ranger build oh yeah! Just started dragonflight earlier. So far I'm enjoying the expansion, it does seem focused on the exploration aspect of the game and I love it. So probably when I get home I'm going to try out this build or stay Pure Shadow on my spell character. Who was once a Hydromancer, aptly named Hydrodeath.on the horde side of the thrall server. Appreciate everything you do Mcdubs, and hopefully see you in game from either side. Keep being your beautiful self man. 💖✨🌟💖
I'm glad to see this. I made a Dark Ranger build on live retail as a marksman hunter, but it's really not that impressive. So when I saw them on Ascension I knew I had to do it. I'm playing one on the League 4 server right now as a build draft and I'm loving it. I do question some of the ability choices they've made.. They seem determined to put Life Tap in every build. Dark Ranger does struggle with mana and doing damage until you get the actual Dark Ranger RE going, then it shoots up in efficiency. I'm pretty consistent second DPS in the mid 30s, only because the only AOE I have right now is Dark Artillery. I'm eager to hit 60. I want to keep the build and fine tune it outside the build draft limits.

Idk when they added a "featured" section to the hero architect, but it scared me that my build was flagged as featured and idk if that's manual by the devs or automatic, when I needs an exploit (which is mostly exclusive to the build anyway) to be viable. Granted I don't disclose the info in the guide, I do freely offer it when pinged.

To help with mana a bit, there's an RRE that restores 20% base mana on kill like the pally talent, but on a 10sec CD. Might be worth using in that free slot to help avoid OOM cases without an extra mana sustain skill
I was about to type in your previous video that I wanted to see the Dark Ranger and here you are! Amazing! I will definitely going to yoink everything. Also a quick warning. When you are trying to get the hood, there is a Worldforged Chest in front of the Stratholme dungeon in EP, before you pass the bridge, where the Necromancers spawn. I tried to loot it but failed because it bugged out. Why it bugged out? I had Loot-Bot summoned. So my key got used for nothing. Don't loot chests while you have Loot-Bot kids! Also, by Lore, Nathanos was the only outsider who managed to enter the ranks of High Elf Rangers. And him and Sylvanas fell in love. But tragically, they all died and became undead, never managed to follow their feelings. -Pigeon
I feel like what's gonna happen is that DR is gonna get nerfed until it's unusable for endgame, what I would like to happen is for the devs to look at DR like the perfect example of a well designed LRE: Not super complex but not super basic "SS now hits with both hands lol" either or clunky to play, thematic, good base damage, good scaling with stats/gear, fun (although subjective), and not super hard to roll the core skills. I love playing hunter builds and this build has been a treat, I love it. I also want to try grove ranger but people keep saying it feels clunky. On God most of the hunter and hybrid hunter LREs are fun as fuck to me (Your time will come, Beast and Blade, one day :c).

I am with you. Super fun spec. Something about the playstyle is just nice. I will say that with just casual theory crafting I'm confused by some of the decisions people are making. INT Primary SP gear definitely should scale better. Devouring Plague and Wraith seem like a clear DPS loss taking up 2 epic RE slots. Explosive Shot + Shadow Propellent Epic RE is pretty amazing. At least for now though it seems like there is a good amount of variety for the build.

The build is definitely good but using an enslaved Demon gives you 5% damage reduction in addition to +5% damage overall. Enslaved demons with things like cripple/warstomp help build the gap the spec needs. Shadow Arrow is really nice with this spec in between nightfall procs. Rolling Stealth makes this a really strong world pvp build for hunting. Lots of things to still be discovered with the build.
You should try seed of corruption off of nightfall triggers. That's what I use on my master of shadows guy and it improves the aoe a lot. This build is cool but it is a little disheartening that it seems to be similar to mos but better, like what that re would be if it was released today. / Shredder
Not sure if you have tried it but there is a talent in arcane mage that gives 30% mana on kill, in dungeons I found it to help a lot more than dreamstate maybe try it see what you think
If you use an actual hunter pet and insure you click the ability in the skills tab to give them the 6 last pts to bring them to where stamina boosts their dmg and yours by ALOT both ranged melee and Spell power it is kind of overpowered and you get it at lvl 60 it makes you and your pet feel like you have 4-8 levels over what you actually arenot to mention holds the arggo like super glue that dried on a hot July day on a Georga Sidewalk lol I tried EVERY kind of pet, and only the normal hunter pets held arggo and made the experience where I just focus on melting the player or mob to a pile of shame and worm food lol
So I just unlocked Grove ranger but haven't tried it yet, but hear it's like atonement healing.. damage to heal. Wonder if it'll be viable for pvp. Hope ya post a build soon. Wanna see it in action
I love ascension introducing new builds like this. I would honestly prefer it tho if they would rework some of the worse performing re's. I don't really believe there are that many sleeper op builds as the devs claim. -Dripdaddy
what you can also do i add in a seed of corruption instead of a instent shadow waist bolt becus when darkness hits its a insta cast wouldnmt suggest it every pull but for when it it needid it is nice

I think it was nerfed but 19k in ascended MC was the highest I saw dps wise and it was Mana Fiend. For healing? no clue honestly
