Hi Hannah! Mom of three here. I would nurse Woody in your bed whilst reading books to Cosmo. Then leave Cosmo to read a book on his own like a ‘big boy’ while you put Woody down to bed. Cosmo can then tell you all about the book he read on his own. Then have sleepy snuggles with Cosmo! Easy! 😂 good luck!
A snack that contains healthy fats and carbs and warm milk can do wonders before bedtime. Fat helps the brain calm and remain that way. We always provided a snack with milk and read for a long while before bed and it worked for all three of my kids and the ones I babysat, all with wildly different energies. Fats are so incredibly important for kids’ brains. A low fat diet will cause hyperactivity, poor growth, and hormonal imbalances.
@elenacook8259 well we aren’t vegan in this household, so there’s your warning before I proceed lol Typically I would provide warm full fat [dairy] milk, cheese, or yogurt and a carb like crackers with low sugar. Vegans will typically serve their children sugary things like fruits, plant based milks, and/or crackers before bed and those things contain a lot of sugar and not enough fat to help the brain relax enough to sleep; in fact, those are stimulants and the children end up hungry and hour or two after those types of snacks.
Awwwww I love all of this. I just relate so so much. My boys are almost 4 and almost 2. And I LOVE the 3 year old questions of like “what does that mean?” and it’s like a phrase I said without even thinking about it like “does that make sense?” and I’m trying to define the literal words “make sense” to a toddler and I think it’s such a fun game haha. So many amazing questions and observations.
Hello. I really enjoyed this video. I love seeing your life out there in Idaho. Idaho is such a beautiful state. I had a question real quick about the sauerkraut you made. I saw you put it into the jar, but I don’t think I heard you say how long it has to stay in the jar before it’s ready.
Have you got a yoto player? (A story book player) That could help :) not sure if they are a thing in the US? I am in the UK :) I don’t like the Toni boxes as I find them more like playtime! I Use it with the older one I look after whilst I put the younger one down. He also uses it at quiet time and loves listening to stories!
I hope you read these. Love and miss you …I love sauerkraut and mushrooms ! You make me appreciate how easy your cousins were about sleep.from the get go they each slept 3-4 hrs. Woke up nursed , had diaper change and went right neck to sleep. L was in a bassinet next to our bed but I could not do this with M . He was a very noisy baby , sound asleep but sounded like a little piglet snuffling and moving around . I woke up constantly thinking he must want to nurse but he was sound asleep. Lindsey never moved a muscle, just out cold. . Interesting how alike and different kids are. I would be scared to have a baby if I saw yiur flog first. Maybe you should mention some kids anre natural easy sleepers ? Also I had a blouse like that with exact flower/red print one you have on. I actually made it myself before L was born. Had white rick rack too !
Great idea about the chart ! I’m an Early Childhood educator and from my experiences with toddlers and preschool age children, I would encourage you to add little visual picture cues to your words . Then he can begin to connect the visual cue to the word and “read “ the chart on his own !
Mumma of 4year old and 10 month old. We also co sleep- 4 year old own bed next to mine and baby. Hubby works late so majority is solo bedtime. I tuck 4yr in first- since it’s winter in Aus atm I pop a heat pack in with her- either next to or on her tummy- she finds the warmth and weight comforting. Red night light and we have mediation music- the same every night as a sleep cue. She lays in bed and I BF baby to sleep. Once baby is snoozing if 4yr is still awake we have a cuddle or i talk through as I trace on her face- we call it drawing butterflies- butterfly body down her nose, wings on her cheeks and around her eyes. Also talk through her body- starting with feet to the top of her head feeling relaxed and sleepy. Her little brother is very curious too so need to side lie to feed him so he can’t see her otherwise he pops up and wants to climb over to her. If I tried to put them to bed separately she would end up calling out loudly that she couldn’t find me or come in and chat anyway.
That’s the downside of babies who aren’t as able to sleep independently. It requires one parent per kid, so when it’s just you, it can be challenging! And if unexpected emergencies arise where you physically can’t be there, it’s also really challenging if babies are used to only falling asleep with their parents. Personally, when I’ve had two - an infant and a toddler - I’ll do the bedtime routine with the infant first, and the toddler might join in for part of it (maybe bath time, teeth) and then I’ll find something to occupy him for 15 min (books, books on tape, certain toys, etc.) so the infant can just wind down in a quiet, cozy room. Then, I’ll wind down with the toddler. I also find that once they’re both sleeping in the nursery, it’s easiest to do bedtime with both together. Of course, there are benefits, too, of cuddling babies to sleep, and if it works for your family and everyone’s sleeping well - nothing wrong with that.
Hold onto those cuddles, one day they won't want to cuddle as much. I know with my daughter when she comes to me for a cuddle its on her terms (she's 11 year's old) but best believe i stop what I am doing to give her a long cuddle. And if she comes to my bed in the middle of the night because she had a bad dream she is always welcome to cuddle up with me too
The mouth chewing thing should be done by all vegans actually because not eating meat does affect some muscles in your jaw/ face area and can lead to issues.
My daughter is 14 (adhd) and I still have to lay with her every night. This is somewhat common for children with adhd. I beg you please break the habit, doesn’t have to be right now but as soon as you can, If at all possible. You will thank me later.
I find these charts horrifying. Get up, pee, breathe, wipe butt etc. if I were her child, I’d have a nervous breakdown, good grief!!! Talk about over analyzing every aspect of the family’s lives.
I think it's a control issue, she likes to micromanage because her life is miserable. She wants to live in Hawaii but is stuck with a cheating husband in a miserable state.
@@notcountingsheep3361 Exactly what I think about this. The first one can still be a respectable adult name......the second one....absolutely mind boggling. Just as ridiculous as Kofax! 🙂
I wonder how they will feel about watching these videos when they get older 🧐 like if it Will psychologically damage them by never getting to see themselves.. i would say yea for sure

You have great mama tolerance. The way you and Cos communicate, near the end, is awesome to listen to.

I have tried a variation of this 😅 Cosmo comes in. The only way is to give him a show while I put woody down. But I appreciate the ideas!
She has terrible time management skills and is not able to multitask.

Love the ideas of yoga at bedtime + picking up 3 things!!
What a great way to introduce a toddler to chores!
I'm loving your longer form content lately! Feeling very inspired by you ❤ 🎉

Same with my 3 year old and any mushroom dish. He first gobbles up the mushrooms, and eats the rest if he feels like it 😅

Do you have a certain brand of mullein garlic oil that you use or do you make your own?
I think you need visual aids for the chart unless he can read it will be more fun for him and easier
what do you do after you fill the jars with the cabbage? straight in the fridge or on the counter for a few days? thanks :)
How do we know if the soucrout has gone bad am afraid to food poison us 😅

Why does Eric choose to drink alcohol?
Probably because it’s his choice.

Why did you give your first child such a wonderful name and then give your second child such a horrible stupid sounding name?
They are both insane names. You need to envision respectable adults when naming people, instead she named them based off being babies.
