This is so lovely 😍 I've been wanting to tell you that I love your tutorials. You always take the time to show how to draw the image, and this is so helpful! ❤ Thank you!
Happy Easter !!! Your flowers are so beautiful, I also love the magnolia because they smell very good. In the US, the magnolia tree symbolizes happiness and stability. It is a staple in southern gardens and delights people with its blooms in early to mid spring. In the East, the white flowers of the magnolia represent nobility and purity, while many of its parts are used in traditional folk medicine.
One of my favorite flowers. I have painted them in oils in the past. Looking forward to trying a watercolor version. Lovely! Thanks so much for your easy to understand tutorials.
So absolutely gorgeous painting Harriet. I did a single magnolia flower with leaves and branches oh about 20 years ago. However, can’t wait to try this one. Haven’t been using my brushes and paints as frequently as I did back then and I’m rather “rusty”. You are a magnificent artist, love everything you draw and paint ❤️😍👏👏👏
I love the painting. I will paint it soon. However, I was watching the video in advance of painting while on my sofa. I was listening to the background rain and prompty fell asleep. Lol! I love a steady rain.😊
Absolutely beautiful! 🥰 Really lovely painted. 🤩 i am still in love with your first painting of magnolia. I find it adorable! 😍😍😍 Now you have two more colors to go. The dark violet and the yellow one 😃🥰 Thank you so much for this video!
I know it's been months since you posted this, but I've been binge watching your posts. I LOVE listening to your rain in the background. Living in the desert of Arizona, where it might be 3 months between rain, hearing your rain, anytime, is so refreshing! 🎉 Thanks for sharing! ❤❤❤
Ah Beatrix. It's funny, all I do is complain about rain but getting your message puts things in perspective. I think you'll hear the rain on tonight's tutorial too
Your comments about aliZARean crimson makes me smile. I loved Donovan’s song “Wear Your Love Like Heaven “. He refers to Al I Zar ean crimson , and hearing you say it that way brings me back to those days. Americans say Ah LIZaren- but that doesn’t make it right!, don’t change!!!
How lovely. I've just tried to paint almond blossom with a back wash! My blossom wasn't too bad, but the back wash is too dark! See you at River Cottage.
So excited to see a a tutorial for a white magnolia! At our last home we had a magnolia tree with white flowers. Most tutorials are for the pink variety.
Oh my...when this began I thought the pale white would be so light, but WOW! This is exceptional, Harriet, especially the branch. LOVE the color selections. So lovely. And I applaud your pronunciation of "alizarin crimson!" (just think that your bff is named "Liz," and see if that helps.). Either way, your creations and pronunciations are superb! GORGEOUS! x Fanna in Denver, Colorado
A pleasure to watch this flower materialize today. Again, inspiring. Thank you, Harriet. Great tutorial. I so hope you'll plan another workshop next spring. Can't join you this autumn.
Minutes in and i love this tutorial thanks SO much!! Can you explain a BIT more about how wet or dry the brush should be, for beginners like me, please 😮😮
Hi harriet, by the way im a big fan of your amazing art work. Im curious to know what color in your palette is the one next to your green gold to the left side? Thanks

Thank you so much for this great tutorial. Magnificent as you say. Is there a page to add our versions?😊
On patreon!
So beautiful! I don’t have but a wee speck of Moonglow. Would Paynes Gray sub for it?
I also love how you show us different angles. 👍
If you have any purple tones, try adding those to paynes grey
Hi harriet, by the way im a big fan of your amazing art work. Im curious to know what color in your palette is the one next to your green gold to the left side? Thanks
I think that's Mayan Blue Genuine from Daniel Smith
Hi there thank you for this tutorial 😊 could you tell me did you use cold pressed paper or hot press ? X
Cold pressed!
