Thanks! Yeah, I would take an equipable accessory that increased spell slots by 1 in a heartbeat! Or a different master class that gets increased spell slots and can use multiple types of magic. But even if they don't make crazy changes, all the magic types are still super fun!
Agreed, also I made a post on their feature upvote page discussing how little class xp you get for using something like silence, somnolence and nightveil (2 per use for such few uses) while offensive spells give way more (shadowburst gave 16). This gives an extra incentive for dark mages to not lean into status spells as much if they are trying to also level up to unlock, in my case with eris unlocking bind, their affinities. Even worse, since mages see less combat than tanks (especially with vigilant tread) they level classes a bit slower to begin with.
can you tell me when you get the aoe elemental spells? im at chapter 18 and my highest level sorcerer is 32. cant check right now if he has maxed out the sorcerer class yet but im running into enemy mages with fire storm and it feels kinda bad going up against them with my inferior spells.
Man I really wish more consideration was given to movement growth in general but particularly in the mage tree. Being stuck at 4 movement particularly on the final map is a bummer. I made Eden in his class, Francisco vanguard and Robere Templar and Karin (bow +2 archer. Forgot name) all cavaliers. So you then have to worry about stragglers who don't contribute much to the fights because the enemy keeps moving every turn.
Yeah it kinda became a debate for me to put my mages on horses to help keep up or use the melee units because then they can attack and canto past zone of controls. I wish more mage classes got bonus move!
Thank you so much! I knew there would be some other ones but I couldn't find a complete list to go off of and I haven't tested even close to all the character/class combos. I'll get Marchelle in Warlock next time. I'm curious if the "physical" characters like Francisco even get special spells so I might try weird people like that next too!
The only thing I can think of is maybe their elemental magic skill isn't high enough. Torrential rain is the first AoE spell to unlock, but it still works wonders with a second sorcerer using Storm Strike!
Yeah I would recommend waiting until side missions for most of the lower tier classes once you get far enough in the story. You can also use taunt from a stronger unit to allow your weak ones to grind, or use magic to stun, freeze, and silence enemies to get free hits.
@@lolfroob6665 Thanks! I'm guessing training in camp isn't enough? I'm also just trying to get Eden's Elemental Magic to 3 before it gets more difficult. But he's already behind Francisco xD Right now I just finished CH 8 and unlocked the first side mission. Also still 9/10 on Party members, I got Karin so close to 100 Rapport but now she gone lol.
For most characters, training in camp is more than enough if you start them early enough! Eden can't join the regular training so it takes a bunch of solo training that costs your leadership points if you don't get him naturally there! And dang :( sorry you missed Karin! You'll end up with plenty of others but I definitely liked the archers personally!
@@lolfroob6665 thanks. I also wish these recruit characters stayed longer. They usually stay for 2 chapters or so and if you dont recruit them, they come back WAY later (like 6+ chapters later). Sometimes forcing you to spend your leadership points just trying to recruit them
Hobbit: How about the 2nd ice wall?
I don’t he knows what that is.
great guide, I hope they balance(buff) dark magic a little and give players more spell slots

Wind does extra damage if for example target is standing in burning forest spot.

You are missing some of the affinity spells I believe. For example Marchelle gets a special spell as a maxed Warlock like she does as a Bishop.

I didn't know this! If only I knew I wouldn't reclass Marchelle into a Ranger.
Strange, my sorcerer's don't have an AOE ice spell. Just torrential rain.

What is the best way to level up the lower-tier classes? I tried bringing them/changing them on the main missions and I just get wrecked.
