This is frickin incredible.. and of course Finnish media hasn't had a clue about this guy. As usual, we need international media to cover our most gifted people to even hear about them!
That is honestly one of the best titles for a video i've ever seen. Interesting, unique, and matches perfectly with the video! Keep up the good work Great Big Story
He'll wear clothing that's as dark as possible, and use lights that are as bright as possible. In photography it's all relative; kinda like it doesn't matter what kind of regular lighting your photo studio has, when your flashes way overpower that room or "guide" light.
Long exposure photography. Very little light is let into the aperture, but it's kept open much longer to compensate. This is how he doesn't appear in any of the finished photos, except maybe as a very slight blur.
John Gray My photography buff friend says that it must also be an exceptionally high quality camera in order to not flood the image with noise. Something about its higher iso resolution and f stop. I'm in over my head trying to figure it out, that's for sure.
It´s actually quiet simple. Use longer exposures and less iso. It depends on the object you´re currently at but if you try something in between 1 minute and 4 minutes you should get decent results. The darker the place, the less likely you´ll appear in the picture. Cause you´d have a F stop of around 16 to 20, exposure time of 2 to 4 minutes and an iso not higher than 100 to 300, and you´ll simply be blinded out. If it helps (for whatever reasons), try some sort of balaclava. Also, listen to what he states in the video. "The exposure time can go from minutes to hours". So you´ll not necessarily need an exceptionally high quality camera. It most certainly would help, a good camera lens is no less important, but i got a nikon d5100 and use a Nikon AF-S 10- 24 mm. The results are nice. Ofc still not as good as it could be, using a full frame dslr and a corresponding lens, but it´s working quiet nicely.
This guy should be on RUclips, I'd totally watch his videos

I've never seen anything like this before. Mesmerising stuff!
Every time he says canvas I hear cannabis
You're right, these words are indeed related. Canvas cloth was once made exclusively from cannabis fibers.
Remi Ogunsanya There's no finnish person who can pronounce english words right. Trust me, I'm from Finland.

The scariest thing about light painting is getting the settings wrong!
wow
How does the light stay there? I still don't completely understand how this light painting works..
Yin_Yang the shutter of his camera is open a very long time, letting him paint light
I think he'll be the first and last of this kind
how?

you'll need at least a decent filter to do this kind of long exposure stuff nicely
