- Who remembers this legendary Terraria armor set? Dragon Armor. In this video, we take a look at an old Terraria armor set that used to be a go to back in the early days of console exclusivity. Luckily, with the power of the Consolaria mod, we're able to bring this set back to life in modern Terraria, complete with a full overhaul to integrate it better into todays progression. I remember there was a glitch where in the old old versions you could find the dragon helmet in an underground cabin chest around the dungeon
You could also find a drax sometimes in shadow chests. That was very overpowered!

Yup, I’m a xbox360 console OG who remembers this. Sadly, I haven’t played terraria in like 3 years because all of my save files were wiped because my relative was testing something back then (I had everything maxed out), which means that I lost most of my knowledge of the game. Plus, I can’t keep up with all of these new additions like the “shimmer biome” xD

man its so nostalgic seeing dragon armors instantly brings me back to my childhood.
I remember finding it in a chest prehardmode way back in the day. It was pretty awesome!

I never found that but I remember getting a drax in prehardmode in a shadow chest in the underworld. Totally overpowered, especially considering that was the second best pickaxe in the entire game

Dragon Armor "for me" must be one of the most visually appealing Armors, its simple yet so cool

iirc they didn’t exactly remove the armour set, they just made it unobtainable, so now it’s a very scarcely existent vanity set
The Consolearia mod is just so damn good. I dont even care about its blatant balance issues its just so much fun to be able to use all these classic gems in a 1.4 world
It makes the game far too easy. Takes the fun out of it

I think I used this armor not too long before it got removed. It was when I was first starting the game and I was playing with a friend when they gave it to me. I loved how it looked and I still do.
Honestly with how much high quality content Sockrteez puts out, I'm shocked he doesn't have more subs.

As a person who first played and grew up with 1.2 Terraria on a Fire Tablet (which it still hasn’t updated), it’s really a heart warming moment to remember these items before, and see them in full glory now.
I remember thinking the Dragon Armor is the best set because of its name and looks. Same with Spectral Armor. Man 1.2 items were the best. Wish they stayed until 1.4.5
i loved this armor so much when i used to play 1.2 back on the 360, but i SWEAR i found a piece of dragon armor in a wooden chest somewhere in one of my worlds- or i could be remembering wrong, has this happened to anyone else?

honestly, terraria has been one of my favorite games of all time. it has entertained me so much in all the time ive played it. i remember me and my brother playing on our world back when console pc had ocram and dev sets were unobtainable. good times.
Please do a video on love arrows. They were op enough to kill the dungeon guardian with out moving.
This brought back that nostalgia.
I remember that when I was new to terraria I was looking for armor sets I could get and didnt realise that console terraria was different from normal terraria
You also have to remember the set of armors; Titan Armor (Ranged) and Spectral Armor (Mage)

@@ZenTerra-N.O.V.AWhy did you add the dots at the end like its surprising? Summoner was barely even a class back then, basically the throwing class of 1.2, except it got a little bit more use for extra damage.
I've only ever played the pc version, but I definitely visited the wiki pages for the console exclusive stuff a lot. It's cool to know that I might still experience it through mods...

This is such an interesting concept. Turning damage, which is unwanted but nearly unavoidable by playing melee, into a means to attack that's actually worth it unlike just thorns. It may be a little bit broken as it is and should probably be toned down a bit, but I think it was a fantastic idea.
One of my favourite armours. Absolutely gutted that it got changed to a vanity set
I loved the Dragon Armor, on Console (Ps3) it was kindof like the endgame armor set and your movement speed was so nicely increased. Also the old weapons like the Tizona, all of that really felt out of place with ocram as the final boss but still it remembers me of the old times..

I remeber this set combined with beetle armor had an insane 100+ defense, I really miss this and remember my first time playing 1.3 i was so shocked to see it have no defense
Could you perhaps make a series of videos where you talk about what weapons you would recommend at different points of progression in the game? Or just overall the weapons you would use and when?
I'm so happy i have a 360 and can hopefully go back and relive those old terraria days with ocram and this goated armor
I Remember Pre-Update Console Farming For So Long For All Three Sets
Hey sockrteez i love terraria playthroughs and have watched pythongb, happy days, chippy and others like them do playthroughs but i reaslly wanna see one from you. Considering ur content focused on weapons and armor that arent used often and break down theyre performance you could make that a focus on your playthrough to use obscure but viable loadouts.
I used to play 1.2 on my phone and I got this set and used the speed for a horseman’s blade event farm. Even worked on the mech bosses. I gotta find that world.
remember when vanity pets used to do 1 damage to enemies? because in my first experience of the game i got the cave bat pet (RIP) and i though it was the "summoner class" my friends had told me about as it killed a slime for me
The titan, spectral and dragon armour take me back so far
I only had mobile terraria before i got it on PC when 1.3 came out
And I remember the days when this armour had 77 defence, incredible stuff
I remember the holy hand grenade wrecking my whole house

When I first played terraria, it was on the xbox 360 and the patch it was on was the one that had the dragon helmet in chests and the first chest I opened had one in it. Sadly, I stopped playing console terraria when I lost a lot of hellstone I had been mining randomly while at the bottom of the world right before I planned on fighting WoF for the first time, thankfully since then I've completed the game on PC, but I was glad I was able to flex on my friends with the insane helmet I had.

I HAVE THIS ARMOR, i first played the xbox 360 version of terraria and i was so happy to complete that set.
This is probably my favorite looking armor in the game with the horned god vanity set from console being my favorite vanity im still crushed they were removed and never returned
Would be really cool to see Consolaria add in a "Extremely ancient Dragon Armor" that uses the recolored Jungle armor sprite seen in 1.1
the old ocrams deadliest attack was his lazer spam in phase 2 giving you the tinnitus debuff
I was so close to fighting Ocram back in the day to get the souls of blight, but the update came out before I could fight him
I did however still manage to get my hands on the Dragon set as vanity on the Xbox 1
i remember when beating ocram had a chance to drop the shiny blue titan armor that was just a gold armor reskin
I used to use it in a hybrid set with beetle armour it's crafted similar to the night edge and required different armour set plus souls of blight dropped from orcam
i loved dragon armour back on my tablet. ocram was so fun to fight, i forgot what the yellow souls were called but i remember fighting ocram so much for the dragon armour and it was so cool, and im sad it's gone

I swear back when Dragon Armor was in the game it was so op, true melee rejoiced at the massive defense and melee speed buffs it had
I particularly remember always wanting to combine the Dragon armor exclusively with the Terra Blade, even though half of my weapons were ranged. I ended up collecting the entire titan armor set first though, thanks to good old RNG with Ocram. 🙃

I remember there was a glitch in old console Terraria that let you equip 5 of the same accessory at once. Combining the Dragon armor with 5 feral claws led to a hilariously fast melee speed.

i remember in my original playthrough of 1.0 on the xbox360 i found a dragon helmet in a chest in the underground corruption chest, didnt know that wasnt supposed to happen till later lol to this day idk what caused that bug to happen
Bro back in the old gen i HATED the dragon armor it had boring upsides and getting it was an absolute PAIN.
Dragon armour was my go to. Started playing when Skeletron prime was added on console. Also an obscure feature that was removed back in 1.1 chainsaws and axe sa could destroy placed wood.
It was removed in 1.3 not 1.1

I remember playing on my brothers 360 and trying to get this armor.
I carry the dragon armor set on hand with a paladin hammer and Horseman's blade as an off gear set when I wanna switch from my Specter armor and mage weapons to this day still on my 3DS. Mine however doesn't breath fire.

I loved the dragon armor a lot.
For a while on console, as they were phasing out the exclusive stuff, they changed the Console Armour sets to be vanity sets sold by the Travelling Merchant.
I bought the set thinking it was still the best in the game, and was really disappointed when I died super quickly with it on.

when I was doing my first playthrough of the game with my friend the traveling merchant was selling the armor and since we didn't know anything my friend spent the entire day gathering money to buy the armor just to realize it's vanity
I remember Ocram and Souls of Blight, but I also used the melee Cholorphyte set with the Scourge of the Corruptor so I don’t know if this Dragon Armor was on the version I played
I ONLY played XBOX 360 Terraria for a while, never got dragon armor but i saw other people who had it (wasn't good enough to even get it), seeing those bosses and armor again now are amazing. Even if the dragon armor is hilariously overpowered.
The flairon damage and the swing speed of the terra blade because of this armor I just remember it being so busted😂
i arrived on the terraria scene a little late. lepus had just been added to the game and i hadn't a bloody clue what i was supposed to be doing so i just walked around and killed bunnies because i am awful. one of them dropped that suspicious looking egg, i used it aaaand died repeatedly.
It was fun playing terraria on my 2ds for 300+ hours on my op character with the dragon armor and paladin's hammer and then losing it due to save corruption and then trying to play again only for my 2ds to stop working for no reason
I still have the dragon armor set because i cant update the game on my ipad, also it doesnt have the set ability where it shoots fire when you get damaged. And beetle armour has more defense than it so i kept the beetle armor equipped.
This stuff was the bomb back in the days

I was bummed when my switch updated to 1.4, since that completely removed the armor. They didn't even give anything in return for compensation 😢

While my friends used to use beetle armor I used to use dragon one. In pvp, if you reach your enemy with terrablade, nothing will save it, even beetle armor. Enemy will get chopped in 1s bc melee speed is insane.

it needs back in the game because it would make the best final update for all removed things other than glitches (and shimer invincibility) to be added back and bosses post ocram (if it were added) buffed to be harder

I think its definitely fair stats due to haveing to fight a optional boss and is a pain to grab compared to colafite
