Very interesting, thanks. Straw hat weather is coming fast. I recently ordered a Sellentino in royal blue for only $220. Akubra did not have a colour I wanted.
Hi there! I got my Akubra Federation IV a couple of weeks ago and I have found myself using more my AdVintage. Something is off in the Akubra and I don't know what. I ordered a 60, and having a 59,3cm of head, the hat feels massive. I am using foam but the Crown looks TOO BIG, looks like the Hat was close to 61cm in size than the 60 that I asked for (and what the label says). The brim is shorter than the AdVintage and also the color is too dark for an Indy hat instead of a Sable color of the AdVintage (IMHO). I have tried to shrink the sweatband using water and blowing it with a Hair Dryer, same for the crown, but got no results. Do you have any tip? Just by wearing the hat will it shrink both the sweatband and crown to a true 60? Seriously, I can't believe that a 60 looks so big on me. My AdVintage is a 59 and I had to stretch it because my head hurt when wearing it, so can't understand this massive difference in sizes. Thank you so much for your videos and your time. Greetings!
Yeah, it’ll start off big, but by wearing it and sweating, the sweat band will definitely shrink to your size. It’ll take some time for it to form to you, but it will be worth it!
My pleasure! All of my Fed IV hats were really big on me at first, too. They will come down a bit. I also don’t shape my hats exactly like Indy’s. I have to shape them to match my face. The top center dent and side dents are all a little deeper.
Hello. Because the Fed IV and AdVintage seem to be out of stock, I'm considering to order the Hero Jr, however the brim looks wider that the other two. I'm a small guy and I don't want to look like a cowboy (as I do wearing the Disney's one). How wide is the brim? What size did you order (if i may ask)?. Thank you
Hi! The brim is 2-1/2” on the sides and 2-7/8” front to back. The Hero Jr. I have is a 58. Looking back, I should have requested a 57, which is my actual size, because I don’t plan to be sweating in it, therefore causing the sweatband to shrink a bit. The crown on the Hero Jr. is close to 6” which is really pushing it for a guy of my size, at 5’8”. The AdVintage Harrison and the Fed IV both clock in at crown heights of 5-1/2”, which looks and feels much more comfortable on my modest frame. Miller Hats also offers a Harrison (not the same hat, to my knowledge) that has a 5-1/2” crown and you can pick your brim width. I’m considering one of those for my next purchase. I hope this helps and I apologize for not responding sooner! Thank you for watching and I really appreciate your question! Kris
Great video! I really like the look of the Hero Jr, it certainly is the most accurate looking wool felt Indy hat I have seen reviewed. If only they'd start selling those at the Disney parks, rather than the Dorfman Pacifics- Indy fans would probably rejoice 😆 Also, really nice shaping on the Fed IV, it looks great! Thanks for the awesome content!
Hey, Silas! This is absolutely the best wool version by far, appearance wise, in the same league as the Fed IV and Harrison. There’s just no comparison to the other wool offerings currently on the market. Thank you for the kind words and for watching!
Answering the questions we all wanted answered! Good job
Hey,Mickey! Thank you!
Pretty cool.
Thank you!

Hey! That’s a really good deal on a great hat!

Your videos are the best!!
Thanks, Troy!
