Just ordered one of these myself. It'll be my first "Indy" hat not counting the my Akubra, which is a tremendous approximation but doesn't quite have that exact right coloring.
@@HatLifeAdventures I'm excited about it! I've been an Indy guy forever, and a fedora guy for just as long because of it, but I've never been able to actually afford a full on Indy hat and just had to make do with your typical dorfman pacific offerings at the local stores. The Akubra Fed IV was my first chance to get a solid "Temple of Doom" style hat, as I'd call the Fed, but this will be my first time getting something that looks in color and shape just a touch more like the Raiders lid and that'll be a dream moment for sure!
Would you think it would be a good or bad idea to give one of these a coat of Scotchgard to make it usable for daily or rugged use? It's a really nice looking hat and I'd love to make it part of my daily attire. Once again, thanks for the videos! I just come across your channel and I couldn't have come across it at a better time. With the new Indiana Jones game, it reignited my love for the series and I figured it was finally time for me to get a hat better than my Dorfman. These videos really help in finding a better quality hat!
Hey, thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement! I’m happy to have been a help! I’m sure that Scotchgard would be fine but you might want to reach out to Joshua Albert Von Kauffman (the hat maker) on Facebook to be sure. I would definitely recommend not spraying the ribbon and bow because it might discolor or become shiny. But The Hero Jr. should be great for daily wear in dry conditions. Even a sprinkle or drizzle of rain should be fine. Congratulations on your hat and thanks for watching! Kris
Hey! I’m the guy from Hero Hat Co. I also have a similar head shape. The hats are more of a standard oval, so I sometimes need a slightly larger one with padding on the sides to make it fit better.
I don't love the fact that it's wool, but it looks really good. I suppose as long as you're not wearing it out in any sort of weather it's a pretty good costume piece for the price.
Hey! I’m the guy from Hero Hat Co. I understand your point about wool, but I couldn’t offer the hat at this price if it was rabbit (though I’d love to). The goal was create a hat with a good shape and overall quality for a lower price. I think it fulfills that goal.
Great video! Love hat unblocking! I just received my Herbert Johnson temple of doom fedora! Indy hats are the best!!
Hey Troy! They are fun to play with! Congratulations on your HJ!
That hat would look amazing with a tight raiders pinch! Great video! Love the Indy content!
Thank you! I think that I might just give it that pinch!
Great video Kris. I love unboxing new hats. Always exciting. Definitely looks like a good lid!
Thank you, John! This one’s gonna be a hoot!
Great video and a great looking hat.
Thank you! It is a great hat!
That's a good looking hat! Thanks for the video!
It’s my pleasure! Thank you for watching!

Would you say it’s more of a standard oval or long oval? I’m a 58 long oval, but I usually order 59s if they are blocked on standard ovals!

There you go! Straight from the horse’s mouth!
The video and the information from the maker just wore down my sales resistance. I just ordered one. Way to go guys!
@@jayyounger7421 I believe that you will enjoy it!
How long did it take to arrive I ordered one and I know it’s made to order but I was just wondering how long yours took??
I think it took a little over a week, but the exact time escapes me.
@@HatLifeAdventures next question were is it made if you know??
It’s made in China by an American designer.
Damn that will make a perfect temple hat.
Yes, I think so, too!
Were are they from, I emailed them but haven’t heard back from them, not a good website.
He’s an American living and producing the hats in China. Try this link:

What is the size of the brim And is it a dimensionally cut? And what is the height of the crown before the bash.
It is a dimensional brim; 2-3/4 front to back, 2-1/2 side to side. The unabashed crown height is 5-7/8.

Yeah, this is going to be a fun hat on dry sunny days. Can’t wait to shape it. I’m thinking Raiders.

It certainly does!
Wool. Blah!
It’s a nice hat👍
@@HatLifeAdventures Wool is only good for Winter.
Yeah, I think it’ll do, nicely.
@@HatLifeAdventures Until if falls apart, which it will. I started out with wool hats (big mistake)!
