It's fun to watch C Bell so happy. Dont think I've ever seen that kid smile so much. Hopefully it translates to his attitude and momentum in the Cup Series.
Come on guys, hit the subscribe button. Justin is where I come to find out what's happening in the dirt world. I like DIRTRACKR because it is a one stop shop. Hopefully you will make it to 50K.
So right about Larson. In 2020 Larson ran Indiana midget week ( not with Silva) Every race he got better and his teammates credited him with lifting the whole team. He won the Championship, one of many dirt accomplishments that year, with what was obviously was not the best car. Be awesome if he could win Chili Bowl and Indy in the same year. Not saying Bell isn't really great at his home track, he is amazing.
Feel for Tanner.. when wheels are inside of white line and you take someone out... something needs to be done... after the fact wont fix folded axles.. but come on... wasn't going there for anything other then to "send it" and hope it work's... Dock postions or send to rear as part of the caution.. something...
Holmes dilemma was quite predictable,in fact it was almost preordained. The only question now is at what point will his parents get sick of squandering tens of thousands of dollars .
I think he needs seat time. He needs to spend a summer in a midget and he will get it. It seems like he was still just struggling to get the car rotated and he kept getting tight.
@RegularJoes NO you don't get it I don't hate him . I have met him and spoke to him a few times and he seems quite personable. The difference is I am talking about the cold hard world of racing and you're talking about someone you would like to hang out at the local Starbucks with .
@@RegularJoesOh he hates on HTF also. He considers himself as greatest all knowing about racing and how to run a race team so basically he has no life and his only way to garnish recognition is to be a negative Nancy. Sorry if i misgendered you.
If the racing. The rest of the week is as good as the first night we're in for a real treat. It was a great night all around on Monday. Also, Bravo to the Chili Bowl for their checking. For anything illegal? Very thorough checks straight across-the-board for everybody. Very transparent, nobody should complain about it at all. It's what racing needs but there is one thing I would like to see the chili bowl cracked down on And that's getting up on the brim. In the corners don't quite know how you would do it, but I think the race cars and drivers should be the track, not the whole left side of the car up on the brim, and basically in the infield.
Tanner Holms. He always gets in trouble not one of the greatest drivers out there. He is great at media but his driving needs improvement. He’s still young so I hope he gets where he can stay out of trouble more often instead of crashing out most of the time.
I'm 73, been around open wheel midgets, sprint cars and champ dirt cars for 65 years. I have never seen a bad midget race. Most of the top cars today run a Toyota 4 cylinder 2.7 liter engine that puts out just under 400 HP. Over the years, countless engines have run and been competitive. In the late 1950s, I saw a guy in Phoenix run an outboard marine engine in a midget at Manzanita. There's alot of info on-line. I'd suggest researching the Offenhauser (Offy) 110 cu in engine, the Volks Wagon engine, Chevy II, and Eslinger. Enjoy the Chili Bowl. If you live in an area that has a dirt oval check their schedule and support that track if you can. as the saying goes - "dirts for racing - asphalt is for getting there"
Yep Toyota’s as busher said are the ones with the TRD letters on the value cover. Also the other top engine is the Stanton SR11x. Both of these engines are single overhead cam 161ci.
@@busher69 I had an uncle that threw a Chevy II in his midget and as a teen I remember loving how unique it was and how it sounded. And my old man had a VW when I was first growing up. Only thing those don't leak, is water. 😆
Tyre doping caused the track to go black. Yeah right, tracks take rubber as they are hard and poorly prepared. I watched the Mon night race and the track was crap, and worse dirt stacked up to the wall so cars were riding the wall by getting near it. Traction control?? You can set the car/ computer up with it in private practice, remove all the sensors and be 'legal' but the car has traction control. This happened here in Oz 35 years ago! V8 Stupidcars have a control ECU for that very reason. You dont get the ECU to race with until the meeting starts. Ban computers totally. You get a mag to race with, no computers. Injection is purely mechanical, If they complain they dont need to race!!
C Bell is a nice story but Larson still gonna win Saturday. You pretty much don't have to watch a single minute of the Chili bowl to know that. Car sucks...don't matter
Don't think it's going to be as easy as you think. Larson got lucky due to Golobic making a mistake and in the ROC and in last nights A main Larson struggled to move forward and his car looked to struggle on the bottom and on the cushion. In the ROC Grant and Kofoids cars looked alot better and and they both passed Larson easily on the top cushion. Logan Seavey and Cannon Macintosh also looked good and their cars we're good on the top cushion and on the pole line at the bottom. It's far to early to write anyone off who makes it into Saturdays big show and it's not a slam dunk for Larson or Bell. Kofoid, Seavey and Michael Pickens have just come from New Zealand having been racing a midget car for the last 3 weeks racing 30, 40 and 50 lap feature races and they have an advantage over Larson in being race ready and in the zone. Buddy Kofoid actually won the New Zealand midget car championship and has the privilege of being 1NZ on his return to New Zealand Logan Seavey placed 3rd in the New Zealand midget car championship and on his return to New Zealand his car number will be 3NZ. I expect Kofoid, Seavey and Pickens to be in the big show on Saturday night and if the cars are set up well, all 3 can easily match Larsons and Bells skills behind the wheel even Michael Pickens who has beaten both Larson and Bell in a midget car both in the US and in New Zealand.. With all due respect to Shane Golobic, if Buddy Kofoid or Logan Seavey had been leading with 2 laps to, after banging wheels with the local kiwis and running the highline and the cushion over the last 3 weeks, both wouldn't have made a mistake opening the door for Larson.
@@SeventyGTXi would also suggest to you many other teams have already get their set ups sorted based on what was witnessed in the Race of Champions, a race Kyle Larson struggled to move forward in and lost positions . So if these other teams have get their set ups bang on, i would suggest to you, Larson and his team are behind the 8 Ball and that's not a good start to the Chilli Bowl, if the likes of Justin Grant, Logan Seavey, Cannon Macintosh, Buddy Kofoid, with all expected to be in the A main come Saturday have arrived at the Chilli Bowl looking quick and comfortable.
You are supposed to get better with other stuff if you move up and keep doing kid stuff then you suck in my opinion just like any kind of traction control if you need that you really not good

Tech doin tech things!!! Who woulda thunk it!!! Actually refreshing to hear, more series should follow suit.
Well I’d say that dark horse was a pretty good choice! Fun race to watch
Check tires in every series, more often. BP needs his yearly checkup.
Great to see them clamping dowm on TC. It is ruining dirt oval racing here in England.
Hot take...Wigal didnt get taken out by anyone but himself
Exactly.
As soon as he said that, I thought the EXACT SAME THING. So, I went back and looked. Yup. Did it to himself.
Yeah I saw from the start, all on him
Wonder if he had the balls to apologize.

Can anyone tell me what motor Larson is running?
Shame Danner screwed the pooch, but hes gonna be a rocket coming through the alphabet
I would 100% just add some blinking lights in the cockpits running on watch batteries.

Hey Justin, are you doing a watch live community show on chili bowl Saturday? Was fun last year
Rookie question…. What motors are these guys running in the chili bowl. Is it the 600cc
4 Cylinder, probably all but definitely MOST inline 4s, methanol powered. Not sure on the cubic inches allowed though. Give it a goog.

Golbic got absolutely shafted by that last yellow. No hate to Larson but Damn Shane needed that win and I think he finally may have had it
He gave the win away. If he’d stayed in the throttle on the top in 3 and 4 he’d come around Larson for sure.
Yeah, till he stepped on it and let Larson go by..... He had the thing won even after the restart and then fell out of the seat.
No 🥜
No he got shafted by his driving skill level. He nedds to kick it up a notch.
