    Just brilliant. It was a pleasure to watch this lad transformed as a golfer. Once again the sound of the strike just went turbo. Marcus is truly the Golf Whisperer. I took his approach to the range last week and was hitting all nine shots at will. Best range session ever.

    Had a lesson with Marcus today and it was awesome. 30 yds on my 7 iron and hybrid and 20 yds on my drives. But mainly it was about forgetting the 27 point checklist for every swing. It was just so natural. I didn’t think it would work for me but it did. 3 hours flew by and I’m still buzzing. Can’t wait to get in the range and course tomorrow. Will be back for more!

      @@banditbaker1675 They teach mechanics, but not feel. As I said in another post on this video my Eureka! moment was realising my weight needed to shift before I'd reached the top of my backswing. This went against all golf instruction I thought I understood which spoke of shifting weight after you've reached the top. Result = power, lag and more time at the top. This is why pro players look so smooth, the backswing and downswing blend into each other, they aren't two separate components with a start and a finish. It needs to stopped being taught like this!)

    I could weep with despair because i can't hit a 7 further than 140 yds, and come back from the range or course with a sore lower back and right arm, and wrists, but find some comfort that I can hit the ball now with a tighter dispersion, but i know that I have about 2-3 years of my body putting up with it. Seeing this gain while dialing down the effort is interesting. After a 3 year break and previous lessons, coming back has relieved stress from work, but added golf swing stress.

    After watching many of these (and one by AMG who use gears technology to show weight shift by PGA Tour Pros: ruclips.net/video/ksEgh9qTzUU/видео.html ) I tried this at the range and the lack of exertion vs distance was noticeable. I then found the confidence to 'let go' on the course and I've played two rounds since and aside from not being anywhere near as tired after 18 holes (no more hitting *at* the ball), I've found I've increased distance and improved strike markedly.
    The annoying thing is that golf is generally taught as: swing club to top of backswing, then start the downswing by a shift of weight or a bump of the hips. But as highlighted here reality is that the shift of weight starts (crucial part coming up!) *before the club reaches the top of the backswing*. So the club is still going up as your weight starts to shift toward the ball. Marcus shows this by throwing a ball to mimic how the same mechanics work and then by using the boards to encourage that movement.
    This realisation was my Eureka moment, the moment I stopped watching 99% of golf videos on RUclips. Cheers!

    • @barking_mad6649
      @barking_mad6649 4 года назад +2

      Update: 3 rounds in and Im hitting the ball as cleanly and purely as ive ever done with much less effort. Last round I was +1 for first 7 holes (Handicap 15) but ended up shooting 92 with 5 triple bogeys thanks to not sticking to the method and trying to hit at it too much which caused some hooks. That said for 13 holes I was just +7 and played the best golf I've ever played.

    • @starks1974
      @starks1974 3 года назад

      I also dropped all the other channels after hitting the range & finally controlling the ball, plus not soaked in sweat due over exertion.
      Did you have issues with the driver initially? Had issues but think it came down to over thinking & so used to hitting it a certain way for so long.

  • @stianmichaelkristoffersen6652

    @ZEN Golf Mechanic: I explored the limit of pushing of the ground through impact, trying to maximize the "jump" by actually jumping and seeing what happens. I ended up making a jump down the target line and doing a 180 (and even more) turn. I don't have all that equipment in my backyard to play around with, but applying the forces "correctly", would you expect to jump forward down the target line, or remain in place just doing a 180 jump?

    • @stianmichaelkristoffersen6652
      @stianmichaelkristoffersen6652 4 года назад

      ...or am I wasting my time? :P I guess the direction of the force from the jump would vary slightly depending and whether you're creating a draw path or a fade path. This was without a club in my hands by the way, so there's no counterbalance..

    • @GRFGolf
      @GRFGolf  4 года назад

      You wouldn't jump forward towards the target as the horizontal pressures would have stopped to enable you to go vertical.

I used to work with David Lee back in the 90’s that used similar methodologies and the results were amazing in a short period of time. So amazing I incorporated into my teaching programs at the time. With today’s technology I can see where that process would be even faster.
