After being being told by a number of Tenerife locals that the TF-28- the old main road (pre-motorway) connecting the west and east of the island is one of the best driving/riding roads, we decided to take a look.
We only managed to try a bit of the road because there’s so much to see, but I highly recommend it for motorcycle fans, car fans and also cyclists- it is brilliant!

Totally agree. I think motorcycle adventuring has got lost somewhere along the way, ever since Long Way Round and the explosion in “Adventure” bikes, it seems like unless you’re doing a RTW trip or crossing continents it’s not an adventure. But there’s so much to see on our own doorstep. Just need to get a map out (remember those!) and head for the roads less travelled.

A Land Rover 88 - just a 88" wheelbase - an early one! Look at that wiring - all you have to do is connect it up again and it'll go like, well a Land Rover. Did his one have an engine?!! We did an off-road course in a LWB Land Rover 110" diesel - absolutely indestructible and tackled immense gradients and ice-rutted tracks. Suprisingly we did not come off them and the old Landie took it all in its stride. Interesting side roads off the T28 with sheer drops off the nearside - nerves of steel and includes you Monika!

Hi Freddie, the 88 refers to the wheel base being 88 inches. It looks like a very late Series 2a or early Series 3. I believe Santana's were built in Spain under licence from LandRover fir export to Africa and South America.

It’s a landrover series 3, 88 is the wheelbase, all landrovers were specified by wheelbase, series 3 short wheelbase were 88 and long wheelbase 109 in, the 90 and 110 were newer versions just pre the defender name being used.
In Spain Santana built under license but this looks like a uk built landrover from Load Lane Solihull.

nice gentle meander along the top road. my old house was along that road in San Miguel. you're right the views in that area are spectacular, the best in Tenerife imho and in summer it was a joy to live there. The downside was in winter it was quite grim.
shame it's been a calima as that blocks the vista effect but it's certainly a different Tenerife. Which 99% of the typical Brit tourist never knew exists.(or even care tbh)
I believe you ended at the petrol station just south of granadilla ? (not always easy to follow the route due to the need for editing) if so, then the next leg from granadilla to the Arico area gets even more rural, remote and twisty turny
but come on, Starbucks? Jeepers no excusing that here in Tenerife !

"I never came to Tenerife to live in Manchester again" was her other one. hence us moving to the sunshine below the TF1 . even though I lived that road for 5 years it's an absolute joy to see your personal take on the area . On a clear day if passing try to squeeze in the Mirador de Centinela which although the restaurant is sadly closed offers spectacular views of the south coast.(unless you edited it out this time?)

19:50 That Mitsubishi is called the Lancer in the Philippines and aruably the most iconic Japanese car of the 80s here. Rear wheel drive, we lovingly call it the "box type." The rare GSR trim was the one to have.

Hey Freddie and Monika, congrats on another class vlog. I know that T28 well, it's the old main road from Santa Cruz to Los Cristianos (and Ferry Gomera). It connects all the municipal capitals (formerly menceyes in guanche times) from Guimar to Granadilla and is truly spectacular - well worth a day out. I cycled it from El Medano to Santa Cruz in 2016 and it remains a highlight of my time on the island.
I can recommend a beach trip to El Puertito, near Armenime. It's the last unspoilt beach in the South but the developers are circling and it'll be built up within a few years. Take the bike, there's nowhere to park a car! Take the path to the left from the beach for an idyllic coastal walk. Enjoy!

Spinach pastries? Well done Popeye, you and Olive, livin' the dream. Enjoyed the film, the sunshine, the old Merc and the Land Cruiser were looking good. And what's this about "88 can't be a Land Rover?" The world didn't start in 1984 you know (even if that's when you did). It's raining here, and blowing a hoolie, don't rush back.

Hola F&M @11:40 Not a Seat Marbella and nobody chopped the roof off. That's a SEAT Panda Terra and it was built like that, before the Marbella the tiny car made by SEAT was called PANDA, the Terra was a cheaper alternative for those who couldn't afford a Land Rover and they all came with a soft top (missing here). AFAIK there was never a Seat Marbella Terra.

The dream bike for me from the 70s was the 2 stroke Kawasaki H2 I had. A total beast of 750cc 2 stroke triple. 12 sec standing 1/4 mile went like a scolded cat in a straight line, but if tried cornering A&E awaited you. Ended up in more hedges and ditches that I care to remember, but the 2 stroke days of the 70s were the greatest to me...just the noise alone! I am a bit of skeptic, but I know a lot of aspects about BTC. So, let's make few things straight - BTC is an investment asset - like gold, it's scarce, but it's easier to acquire it and big players like pay-pal and grayscale are holding it, same with a lot of banking institutions, hedge funds and masses of people, self-host wallet btc owner whales have a hard time selling it without doing KYC and in some cases, this can wreck them financially. People lose access to their btc wallets which makes that btc frozen for all time. The Hype and FOMO is on the rise and most people only buy and hold with btc. I mean you have to understand that normal stock market fundamentals don't apply here. It's not a 2017 - 2018 scenario. The regulation added to BTC can actually even make it more desirable(although have a minus). Basically, anything that could stop the mooning of btc imo would be extreme regulation restrictions and also better investment opportunities discovered by btc owners. However , it’s is best advice you find a working strategy/daily signals that works well in other to accumulate and grow a very strong portfolio ahead. I have been trading with Mr Mohamed Luc daily signals and strategy, him guidance makes trading less stressful and more profit despite the recent fluctuations. I was able to easily increase my portfolio in just 4weeks of trading with Mohamed daily signals growing 1.5 BTC to 6.7 BTC. His daily signals are very accurate and yields a great positive return on investment and is available to give assistance to anyone who love crypto trading, you can contact him on Telegram @ MohamedLuc* * for inquires and profitable trading systems.
