    I miss my kdx so much, I wish Kawasaki would bring it back as a 300... it was a great woods bike. I just wanted more power

    Hell yea, looks really good man. Just picked up a running and pretty solid 95 for $400. Perfect extra bike that will get a plate too. Keep up the good work.

      Hell yeah, and thanks man! The one I built before this one was a running 91 I got for $550. Still probably the most fun and best handling bike I’ve owned.

      I think it’s needed an upgraded stator for the higher electrical draw but I wasn’t too worried about it.

    Nice job! 1). Where did you get the light and how bright is it? Was it hard to attach? 2) Where did you get the fork boots or are those stock?

    • @doublewvideos3474
      @doublewvideos3474  4 года назад +1

      The light I got off amazon, it wasn’t very bright so I bought some LED bulbs with it. The headlight was only $19.99 and the bulbs were $12.99 for two. The fork covers I also found on amazon and I bought the longer style. They were a little pricey but they’ll last forever at $26.95.

    Where did you get the light housing for the front plate? Nice build. Just picked up a 01' 220, any tips for rebuilding?

    • @doublewvideos3474
      @doublewvideos3474  4 года назад +1

      I actually got that one off amazon. I was skeptical about how it would turn out but it ended up looking great. I did update the bulb to an LED because the bulb that came with it was not bright enough. The tips I would give is find a manual and follow it. If you come up with any questions, google your exact questions because chances are it's been asked before! Good luck!

    What did u use to clean pipe

    • @doublewvideos3474
      @doublewvideos3474  4 года назад

      Just some cheap aluminum polisher. If I could go back I’d probably try some other things but with some elbow grease it did a pretty good job.

  • @sanchezable

    What do you spray on the surface for the decals?

    • @doublewvideos3474
      @doublewvideos3474  4 года назад +1

      First I clean them with something that will evaporate easily that contains alcohol. Then I spray just a slight amount of soapy water and it makes it easier to move around and get the air bubbles out and when it dries it will still stick. Then I spray SC1 on it to make it shine and less susceptible to collecting mud.

    what kind of seat is that ?

    • @doublewvideos3474
      @doublewvideos3474  4 года назад

      I believe it is the stock seat. It does have an aftermarket seat cover though. I think it was an Attack seat cover.

      @doublewvideos3474 oh so lucky. I just bought a 2001 kdx 220r. It's all stock. I have to change the piston to a weisco. Suprised the original lasted so well. Was takin real good care of by this old man. And I'm replacing the stock exhaust and header,. Was going to change out the pwk33 carb to a 35. But was told it's not needed, if im just trails riding. So I'll keep that. Otherwise not a bad bike.

    • @doublewvideos3474
      @doublewvideos3474  4 месяца назад

      @travisl5125 thats awesome! To be honest, there’s usually less worry when you get a complete stock bike. Either way they’re great bikes. The KDX 200 was my favorite trail bike so far but the parts were way too hard to find. The 220 has more power and easier to find parts.
      On the carb, I’d say stock is fine, just get it jetted right and she will have plenty of power. Keep an eye out on marketplace and eBay for exhaust, can usually get a good deal.
