Your bike sounds and runs great! You are fortunate to have some good trails that close to your house. I have a 1999 KDX200. Just finished putting water pump seals in.
My dad had had a 90 kdx 200 and a 97 ktm exc 300, been looking to get them running, about a year ago me and my brother got em to at least make some noise so they’ll run but, the ktm is in relatively great condition yet its in a few more pieces than desired, but the kdx deff needs a lot of love, would love to both running good. carbs still seem to be in good shape so some pointers on where to go for a tank for the kdx would be awesome.
@@owencrandall8709 mine has a very mild porting only cause someone else did it before and I had to match my sleeve to it. From everything I read you really don't want to mess with the porting. Especially the exhaust ports. It can ruin the bottom end torque. However The castings are usually very rough and it can help to smooth them out and get rid of the nasty bits of aluminum in there.

I’m building a 1989 200, is it worth porting the cylinder?
