A chord is a combination of at least two notes that are played simultaneously, creating a fuller, richer sound than can be achieved by playing each note individually. Most chords involve at least three notes played together, while some may use even more. Also, chords usually involve playing multiple strings at the same time, which is called strumming.

I’ve been playing for 10 years and have avoided B major all this time

I do a power chord instead
First i was like ok, i can do it. But then i was like FFFFUUUUU!!1!1
The way I naturally play this is by barring my first finger over the second fret and then sort of half-barring my third finger on the fourth fret, so that only the top knuckle is down. The bottom knuckles are lifted with enough space to not touch the e string. Sometimes I'll put my pinky down on the B string as well just to reinforce it. I'm a self-taught beginner so I'm not sure if that's common or if it's just a weird unorthodox fingering that the shape of my fingers allows me to do.
I need to learn the LAZY WAY my fingers are waay too short to stretch from 2nd to 4th fret. can someone help??

Now my index finger hurts and I have string indents all over it.
Guys, it's only about position of your hand.. i couldn't do it at all but when i tried to move my hand somehow, i can play the B chord without problems ! :)
Even if I hold my tongue just right it's still hard to do.

Guys..it gets better! Within a month or two of practice, you'll have it down in no time! I hated this chord, but now I love it! Don't give up!
i can easily do a b chord as i have 6 fingers on my right hand, yes i am a left hander.

@babyfeera nahh dont give up... keep trying... I learned the F and B 2 days ago :p but did not master them yet...
I use my pointing finger to fret second fret 2nd string, then I use my pinky to barre forth fret 3rd 4th and 5th string and mute the high E with either my middle finger or my pinky xD

also, the lazy/easy way is way harder for me than the "difficult" way, my ring finger doesn't bend backwards enough like that, ouch!

oh no , trust me, as for me, i remember when i had some month as begginer, i could do the F with great quality, but the fucking B, oh lord hehehe 8 month and i could do it, but not that nice and still very slow for playing a song.
