@@Billyfishing_watch love all the content mate but the Norway ones just have me fixated , what a lovely place and hope to venture there fishing when my kids get a bit older , 👍👍
This was exactly the video I needed today. I'm trying to learn jigging. How fast to spin, to hard to crank, all that stuff. This video really helped me get a better idea of how to improve. Thanks Billy
Another cracking video Billy. What I think is really impressive is that you can boast about catching those fantastic fish on lures that you made. Nice one 👍🏾
Thanks Garrie! There is nothing quite like catching a fish and tackle you've made yourself. Even though it's something I have done since I was a child, it never stops putting a smile on my face. See you on the beach Brother 😁👌
Fantastic to see Nord Cap with clear blue sky . I was there in November 5 years ago , 60+mph wind , ---15c . Anything not bolted down was off to Canada sharpish. I have to get back and fish soon.
Hi, Billy. As you know, I always learn something from your "how-to" and "tips" videos, but there's nothing like a productive fishing session, especially when it involves jigs or other lures. Since last summer's Norway trip, I had forgotten the fast-pump sequence, then the freespool drop back to the bottom that you use for deep jigging. Thanks so much for the reminder. As soon as the weather cooperates here in Maine, I'll be out in my boat, trying this retrieve for pollock at what look to be promising offshore spots on my paper chart. I can't wait to see you get into a good halibut! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Best, Chris
Hi Chris. It is a very effective technique, also varying the speed and rhythm of the retrieve can have fantastic results as well. Best of luck to you, I hope you catch a beast. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Nice catch Billy. After watching some crazy cliff fishing from Australia, I got my self a cliff gaff. It’s perfect for jetty fishing when you don’t have a long gaff or net.

@@Billyfishing_watch I always have brother . what makes your videos special is the fact that you always give a honest report on the fishing situation were you happen to be at the time of filming your videos. Although once you catch the monster fish you will wonder if there's a bigger one out there.??? Take it from me this will definitely happen.. As I found out many years ago.😋😋😋
Hey Billy! You should try to salt the cod (lettsaltet torsk), it makes it taste much better and I preserves it for a few days more. I learned that from an old local lady.
That was the quickest south to north trip ever - you missed the middle bit out 😊 Last time I was at Nordkapp the fishing was shite - I had much better luck slightly west around Havøysund hotel. There is some deep water there just north of the hotel, and also to the west on the mainland before the road bridge. It's an easy walk from parking areas, but the shoreline is treacherous underfoot. I guess that describes most of Norway's coast though... Luck in battle !
Just got back from Havoysund I can't believe how good the weather was we had temperatures up to 28/30°C!!! I had 10 Halibut up to 140cm, plaice to 5.5lb and cod to 15lb plus a few other species all on lures but I was boat fishing, already planning the next trip probably Soroya and hopefully spend a couple of days just hoping to find a huge Halibut??? Hey billy, love the vid as always. I have a rod thats 80g casting weight and im wondering if i can use a 120g jighead shad with it. Do you also have a video on how to rig a shad with jigheads? Im using 28lb mono, is that risky for this big a bait?
Yes your rod will break!!!!!!!!! Probably not first cast, what soon after! As far as the fishing line is concerned, 28lb is good you will have no trouble. You will need a shock leader for casting, because the line will snap if you are using 120 gram jig. And it should be 50 lb. Thanks Brother 😁👌
