He was the one who tried to normalize relations with Pakistan, visited pakistan, and just after that was backstabbed with Kargil. It was very impactful in shaping his future policies for indo pak relations. It's not something that's even for debate. You may check your own country sources who will approve of this as a fact. And as far as I understand he's well regarded in Pakistan as well.

He's well regarded in Pakistan as well cuz he actually DID try to normalize the relationship between both our countries, however it was sabotaged because he was BACKSTABBED. That's history though. Let's just, as common people, try to do what Atal ji tried decades ago❤️
