The late Jimmy Greaves always made this comment in television coverage too. If you look at the amount of Lineker's goals during that mid to late 80s era, you'll find its Beardsley's industrious creative skills that contributed a lot towards his tally of 49 goals. At least Lineker will ALWAYS hold up a hand & say "I cant claim full credit, without including Peter's contribution". Ive said this before, but not many players can leave a club, then return to it years later & STILL be as consistent as his first spell. By comparison, C.Ronaldo was a disaster in his return to Manchester United.
