I just put the FJ body from Hardbody Crawler on my SCX frame. I've upgraded the steering servo which meant I had to cut out a little bit of the front end to clear...I also have an Injura 50 upgrade motor. My chief complaint is that the unit is top heavy in part because it sits higher on the frame than the stock SCX bodies. Dampened shocks and 7mm axle extensions are also going to be used (at least on mine) to reduce the tendency to tip. It's all about the compromises... Aside from this, the price point isn't bad...considering what I already have in my Axial unit.
Adapted mine to run on a 9V radio battery (versus the 7.4V LiPo) Big increase in performanc/power and motor handles the additional 1.6V with no issues.
It did better then I thought. I’m sure the wheels & tires have a lot to do with the performance. I like it & the price with 2 bodies RC4WD man that’s nice. I’m wondering how it will perform with a outrunner or Furitek system in it.
It's a shame that price and upgradeability holds me back from getting one. What I did is buying the black Defender body for 19 bucks (!) and fit it to an Scx24. The level of detail on that body is just equal to none.
Can you say body roll.. why they think someone wouldn't pay an extra 50 for some decent oil filled shocks is anyone's guess. I like axial & have had several starting with the og scx10 honcho, but they are a little too cheap imo
If you could buy that with a KK body I would possibly consider getting one. all people think that everybody wants is a Jeep Wrangler body. I don't like wranglers I think they're ugly.
I bought one of these a couple years ago. My biggest rc purchase regret. Terribly under powered, horrible modulation, weak steering, and top heavy. Bought multiple tiny brushless motors to try to improve power but none fit. That furitek will NOT fit
If you flip the plastic plate that holds the motor, you can fit a motor Injora 050 50T. Might need to take a bit of material out of the battery tray, but it works! For modulation I installed a new receiver and the modellbauregler asx24 esc, it’s amazing!
Thanks for the support! great to see the wheels on the Fj!

So cool thanks for the support!
By the way! I always prefer a lighter and smaller battery to gain performance, and go changing batteries as needed.
I think the Jeep is my favorite version! Neat
it surprised me when i uboxed.

Great advice. Thank you.
That's a cool little crawler and awesome trail run!
I got the micro TF2 when it came out, but I've had my eye on this one since before I did that. I love that the chassis and axles are metal!
I love the look of this, so. I'm very interested to see if the motor makes a big difference.
Thanks for yet another great review. 👍
I like it always wanted the blue one
380 FMS 1/18 and 600 for the atlas. But yes much bigger battery. Definitely the upgrades are needed to make it awesome
Great info, thank you.
Welcome 🤗
I think it would be better if the starting price was below 199.00
Definitely, especially with other great options out there for around $150

Would probably perform amazing, but at that point you could get a 1/10 scale 😅
It's available with the jeep or the D90 - doesn't come with both.

The esc and motor are waterproof ?
Hi Francis interested what are you doing to improve steering; my D90 is a beauty but I couldn't find a way to make decent turns
Please share the exact model number for the Holmes motor you used. Thanks. John

Perhaps a head to head with trx4m to see what the extra $75 gives you.
Weight, metal frame, axles and wheels.
Where did you buy the motor ??

Sorry it’s not worth £330 for a 1/18
And I can buy a traxxas trx-4m for £149.99 a far better truck
woah 330?? Awful.

I'm sure it runs fine but that price with that transmitter sheesh
$240?? 🧐
"Low-Cost"
under $500 :)
I just stopped watching at the price lol.
Yea and it sucks, just get a TRX4M for $150
Scale truck go brushed save the komodo far a performance build
You would think they would stop trying to make Jeeps after getting sued constantly by Jeep lol
A bit toy grade looking for the price in my opinion. I would take the fire horse over this any day.
That thing is ugly not worth the price at all.
Overpriced
