A very well presented video with excellent procedure for double matting, thank you very much!
Thank you! This video was exactly what I needed!
Thank you. This was well thought out and very informative.
Perfect tutorial for a beginner. Thank you for sharing.
You made that look really easy! Nice job!
Love the choice of colours for your mats!
I was told to only tape the upper edge of the image to allow for expansion contraction of the piece
Great video!
Thanks. I knew that was Zion! Great photo.
Nice well narrated & shot Video. I learn't heaps.
Thanks, great video.
thanks .. this is great.
Good tips. The Logan matte cuter has it's ruler and square assembled.
Muy bueno. Gracias.
thank you!
The Logan square is good, but if you're not certain of the square-ness of the mat edges, you can still run into problems. This method guarantees parallelism between the innet & outer mats, regardless if they are square or not.
Is this the same material that is used for those Folio Mats that photographers use?
Thanks!!!!
wouldn't pencil marks get on the edge of the smaller mat... I realize it wouldn't show much with this type of photo, but it may be noticed with a picture/photo with lighter background. Just wondering.....
thank you
Check the Logan Graphic DDIY Picture Framing Tips and Tricks for their rendition of how to cut a double mat.
It's much more accurate because you tape the mat boards together before your outter, bigger window mat is cut. Check it out and you'll see what I mean.
Do you have a link to that video? I searched around and couldn't find what you're referring to.
What did you use for the mats?
Good info to sell your images too, to make them appear professional.
what if you don't have matting paper what could you use instead?
buy some
What kind of paper is that and where would I be able to get it from?
It's regular mat board. I get mine at Hobby Lobby or AC Moore craft stores.
whats a good place to buy matte from? maybe come in bulk orders
Sorry about the self promotion.. but we are! www.matboardandmore.com
Is that acid free tape?, and why didn’t you do the T tape? 🤓
We would never do it like that over here in England.
Make it yourself thanks to woodprix plans. I think it's the best way to learn how to build it in the cheapest way.

Logan Graphics has a much easier and faster way to do it.
much simpler way to do this....
You can learn more about it on Woodprix website I think.
why dont you show a video of you just using a ruler and not your fancy cutting jig to show people that you really dont need it. lol
I guess maybe I don't want people to get frustrated when their results come out like crap.
Please speak Hindi
No offence to all the pple in this business but all this matting process, i think is much ado about (not nothing) but defnitely not a whole lot.
At the end of the day its cutting cardboard. I went onto youtube to learn how to do it on some old thrifted frames i have and now im so intimitaded im convinced i cant do it. Almost all the videos they talk like its rocket science or something like that. So annoyed.
