In the 40 years Ive been surfing, Helium is the best tech Ive EVER seen, bought and used. Its the most durable, its the lightest and exceptionally responsive. I agree, its insane. My Mashup is 18 months old and besides a little browning its in absolute pristine condition. All of my PU boards have foot wells after 1 - 3 surfs. My helium board has 0. The deck is like new. I wish I could get all my boards in Helium and custom sized. Thats FWs only downfall, can’t customise. I go back to using one of my PU boards and they now feel heavy and dull compared to my helium.

@@hawaiiansouthshore Thanks & I Put Solarez on the dings and works great but I also have heavy delamination on the top and I am going to shop for the same type of Resin they used on Helium tech & try to inject it and vacumm seal to fix but One guy at Firewire wrote that i should cut the toplayer off and reglass .

@@hawaiiansouthshore No worries Amigo , thanks for trying to help ! I def did not like the feed back i got from the Firewire guy , basically he said that is an old board = trash ha ha but I do have other boards that lasted way longer ! The Epoxy Solarez 2nd coat on the dings looks fine so the delamination is next
      !

@@Alohatribe Oh bummer, sometimes when you get a ding and you don't know about it and water gets underneath it causes the lamination. I'm not sure if that's the case. But sorry to hear that.
      Have a good weekend!!

Why do you Call it Hélium ? Cause there is no hélium inside ?
Surf Tech still the same sincère the 50’s
The différence is just a 1000$ board

LOL😅 I used to think the same thing about the name Helium, but it's actually a clever play on words.
They call it that because these surfboards are lighter than regular ones.
The Helium models are usually designed for smaller to medium-sized waves.
They have less dense foam, which makes them float better and gives them a bouncy feel.
That combination works well for smaller waves.
Yes, the Firewire boards are more expensive than some other manufactures, but many people think they're worth it.
I've talked to surfers who weigh around 220 pounds (100 kilograms) and they've been using their Helium boards for about a year.
Even after surfing almost every day and pushing their boards hard, they only see a few small dents when they remove the wax.
The construction of these boards is really strong. - David
