Favorite podcast, been listening since episode 1. I’m sure this is a broken record for y’all, but we need sleepy stevens on here. Give the people what they want !!!! ❤
Loved it bode. Loved ur hot takes. I had a feeling u we’re gunna say Nico too. Such a great answer. Also I had Ozzy picked for most underrated too. Awesome
Great episode! Always interesting hearing the backgrounds etc from these pros. I really appreciated the part about how he deals with a lot of anxiety and fear and managing that etc , would not have thought that especially after seeing some of those huge sends
Don't usually comment on these but I've gotta say I've always been a fan of Brodie Mitchell because he just seems like a regular guy. He says he himself doesn't consider himself a cool guy, and to me he's cool as fuck, but he also just puts out hella normal dude vibes which I really love and as a big man I feel like he's my champion.
I didn’t know it was possible for big guys to flip so easily. I’m 6’2 190lbs and I more fearful now of getting hurt trying new tricks than I was as a kid. Maybe I’ll have to live by “you can’t get hurt in the air”. But 190lbs has a lot more energy on impact to absorb when shit hits the fan.
Buy a big trampoline, tape your edges up and work on straight air grabs, 180s, 360s and late tricks. Make a list of tricks to dial. Choose a direction that would be your “downhill”. Visualize it. Close your eyes and feel it. Stretch. Do basic yoga and tai chi. When you’re ready for flips, corks and bigger spins. Dial them without a board first. Get ninja on it. Learn butters. Learn to pop. Learn to late fs 3. Build these into muscle memory + air awareness = your riding will accelerate tenfold.

I remember watching him tail blunt 270 out on a box during ParkCity’s early 2000’s golden years… so smooth. Yeah Bode!
