Honestly if you are looking for a ready to run you can just take outside and go with this might be the best option out there... I'm not an expert but it's a durable platform and we all know how much people will crash when learning to drive :D
All the Traxxas hate makes me love this car more! 😂 There are already people modifying and getting much more steering and performance out of this chassis. Can’t wait to see what you do with it. Thanks for sharing the car that will certainly sell well and, hopefully, help the drifting hobby grow.
Thank you for the vid. Really enjoyed the review and defo for me. I already use traxxas 4tec 2.0/3.0 as they can change drive shaft and chassis length as I tend to make custom US cars with longer wheel base and with the standard chasis bucket it will be easy to make the wheel base longer for a custom 3D shell. As always good job on the videos and looking forward to the tuning vids
Dang, I just got into drifting, and Redcat sent me a RDS to try out. I'm I gonna have a bad time? Seems like there is as much hate for it as the 4tec. Is all the hate on these justified or will tuning it (like what every RC enthusiasts does to every RC) make it work in the end? Hopefully it doesn't sour the drift experience because I'm enjoying my tiny cheap 2wd drifters.
Says the traxxas isnt bad.....then dawgs the redcat rds 😅 in same breath. Ok so the redcat needs ball cups, and o rings in shocks....the 4 tec needs thrown in can. Kinda reminds me how the crawler community said how terrible the ascent was.....yet its still doing great now in a huge market of great trucks.
I would personally buy a brushed MST Rmx 2.5 or a brushed yokomo yd-2z long before the traxxas I used to be a traxxas fan back in the 90's when they built a few actual race chassis but now its all just over priced basher they could have just sold a conversion kit for for the AWD 4-tec kits
this car should be $200 tops. $330 for this glorified tt02 is just ridiculous when actual drift chassis cost less. if someone wants to get into drifting then id recommend the yd2z rtr or the rmx rtr, both of those chassis have near unlimited tuning potential.
@@TheImtoomuch okay, $200 might be a little low, but the car still isnt worth anywhere near what traxass is asking. there is literally no reason to pick this chassis over anything else really. look i get that its a big step towards getting the drift scene bigger which is great, but i honestly cant recommend this car to anyone because there are much better options for your money.
@@TheImtoomuch i would like to hear some reasons that someone would pick this up lol. the ONLY thing i can think of is that its waterproof? or maybe the mustang body? but other than that what does this chassis offer that the others dont?
Sir, I kinda concern about your reputation after this possitive review of that car. Because this car is actually 100% crap, everyone involved on a degree with rc drift can tell how bad that thing is. On that pricetag the real rc drift cars market has to offer some real car offers...
Now, I'm not a drifter, 0 experience but I've have been watching some vids since I'm thinking about getting into it. Did you even look and listen to the video? Ned goes quite deep in discussing the reasons behind his rating of this car. Of course you might not agree on the things Ned appreciates, but they make sense to me. Could you please be more specific on why you dislike this car so much? I'm very interested since I want to learn as much as possible.
@henriksturesson305 his review is biased. He doesn't talk about yokomo RTR either, which is the most ready to run out of all thr RTRs. Here's what's going to happen to you as a beginner in the hobby. You will buy one of these Traxxas drift cars, go to your track and realize that you can't do what the other drivers can. You will then throw your Traxxas up for sale and purchase a yokomo or reve d. That's why the community is passionate about these reviews - we don't want to see new community members frustrated and feeling duped.
Ok this is my opinion.. all rtr drift car are notorious for junk servos and gyros.. if u no about traxxas norm plastic shocks the are the worst shock ever.. but the big thing i see is if this is your first car getting into the hobby u will most likely buy the traxxas battery and starter pack because it your first one and the traxxas pack is double the price of just a any other comparable batter charger set up, but what im intested in seeing is a weight comparison and chassis comparison for all the entry level chassis RTR/kit taking the electronics out of the question. See where your opion lies on on those other kit u fan boy over😂
These cars need upgraded electronics just like any other RTR. With a couple small adjustments these cars drive pretty well. We've got 3 at our local track.
the car isnt GREAT but it isnt the worst. I drove this exact car in the video for cumatively 45mins and got a good feel for it and can confidently say its not terrible. The price is definitely a little too much but any RTR always will carry a premium over a kit. This car was designed just as nezo said, for newbies to throw it on the street or a tennis court and see if they'll enjoy drifting at all before investing a shit ton of money to get started with a decent rig. Besides all that, nezo did some very basic tuning to the car and it really does have potential (cutting stoppers, upgraded servo, dedicated gyro & different remote) which in sure he will share in his next video
Nicely done, Nezo. Can't wait to see what you do to it!
Great video, I picked one up as a first drift car after watching.
Any updates?

What happened to the promised LP86 shakedown? You mentioned it that it was coming, but I'm still eagerly waiting to hear your thoughts on the chassis.
Nice vid nezo 😊

How is this more RTR than a yokomo RD1, which ONLY needs 4 AA's to run Straight Out of the Box....
LOL

No way this can be $200 with Ford licensing.
how much did traxxas pay you for this one? lol
he wasnt paid anything for it at all. He gave his honest opinion on the car
