      @@cynda3044 that's because they are the most popular hence theres is not much demand for parts as they are widely available. This howeverbdoesnt change the fact, that from security perspective these keyless systems are a perfect recipe for disaster.

      To be fair, you can turn it off in case you're in a bad neighborhood or extremely paranoid. Not that BMW forces you into it anyway.

      It makes no difference though if you think about it in terms of someone stealing the key and opening it manually or having it open automatically. The concept is to provide convenience for drivers when needed such as having too much to carry and trying to reach for your car key. You can also just switch off the feature in high risk areas.

    I love this feature on my G05 X5. I believe idrive 7.0 BMWs can do this if equipped with Comfort Access.

    Compared to the current-day comfort access, where the car unlocks when you pull the door knob. I don't see how unlocking the car before you pull the door knob will bring you any advantages.

      Comfort access isnt something new on bmw. Its just the how to serious lol.
      Even the e60 2007 does have comfort access.

    This is by far the most annoying feature ever for a car detailer. I started counting and in one hour the stupid car locked/unlocked 27 times!! No manual in the car to look up how to disable. My Lexus has this feature and has never driven me insane when working on it. Thank God for this bit of video! Classic over engineering bmw solving a non existent problem. Smdh

    My mom's 6 yeas old cheap Daihatsu Kei-car also has the automatic unlocking and locking feature like that of this expensive BMW.

    BMW: You still need to walk toward your car and open the door by yourself.
    Me: My driver opens the door for me and handle my shopping bags too.

    I've got a 2007 E-Klasse and all I have to do is tap my jean pocket once to unlock,and if I jump and hit my heels together all doors open

    Hi BMW, I ordered a Bmw 530d G31 msport with the new iDrive 7.0 and comfort access as standard in the pack.
    Can you tell me if this new system is available? There’s also the possibility to grab the handle to unlock/lock the car?
    Can I deactivate the comfort access system from settings to protect the car from thefts?

      No Honda City doesn't. You still need to grab the door handle to unlock. In this demo, vehicle unlocks without even touching it.

    The only tiny thing I find annoying about my 2018 440i Coupe is that the mirrors don’t fold in automatically every time I lock the car; I have to hold the lock button on the fob down for a second or two to make them fold. First world problems!! 😀 Otherwise, the car is great!

    I have a m550i LCI and the comfor t access only unlocks on the driver side front and rear but not on the passenger side is that normal? (Car is a USDM so it’s LHD)

    I have to double check my 2013 but it can definitely be turned off. Even if the car is left on the key fob needs to be in the car to drive it

    It works fine in my bmw but if you do something next to the car with a key it opens /classic itself all the tinr so at the carwash its better to leave key indside

    I left my new bmw unlocked at a parking lot because I wasn't aware that I had to touch the door handles to lock the car... I just walked away like in the video. Keyless entry for bmw 5 series from 2018 works different 🤷‍♂️

    This is one of those extremely useful features that makes you scratch your head that it gets omitted from certain years of a single generation model. Like why wouldn't you make this a standard thing from the beginning of a new generation? 2018 BMWs really got nerfed by BMW.

    Okay you still need to grab the handle! That was a one motion doing two actions. This is a like a sale marketing move. If the door open for you then this idea make sense.

      @Christopher Redhead- No... I know the engine won’t start if the key sensor is not around. What I mean what if the people are still in the car, and the key sensor holder walks away, will the car lock by itself or the seat or seats can detect the people still inside the car.
