The reason for the back rail mount and the fact that the rails don't come pre mounted is the so that you could mount the front fan at the back if you want to. It makes complete sense for some cases.
I am a huge Air Cooler fan, and have built my last 3 computers with dual tower Air Coolers. But with how aggressively the Thermalright dual tower coolers are priced nowadays, where I can buy 3 or more PS120s for a single A115, I can't possibly justify spending so much more on A115 or whatever else is on the market. Thermalright has the Air Cooler market seriously cornered and the other makers have to find a way to compete or be pushed into niches and fan boy territory.
Seems decent for people who don't mind fan noise and just want balls to the wall performance, regardless of cost. I'll just stick to the Peerless Assassin for my builds.
Which one would you recommend between the MasterAir 824 or the Corsair A115 for the i7 14700k? I just want it to have low temperatures, I don't care about the noise of the cooler.
Glad it isnt as shit as A500 was. STS could you please review Gelid Gale fan? I know you reviewed the Extreme version but the "normal" one seems much more reasonable. Please! Thank you
I would mention some air coolers that I easily cooled my i9-13900k with, but I won't mention them here, because they will shoot up in price. No, not Noctua. In fact the air coolers I am talking about will beat Noctua's top of the line cooler The main thing is fin density, and ability to quickly transfer heat to them. In fact those 2 air coolers from separate companies are smaller than Noctua's flagship aircooler As much as I appreciate the simplicity of an air cooler, I never liked the fin and metallic rumble they exhibit while under load. You cannot defeat the turbulance, but it will be there. Unlike water cooler, where you can set the fans lower and motor to lower RPM and cool just as good as air.
not sure who corsair is trying to target here people looking to pay a premium price will go noctua, people looking to save money will go thermalright why pay noctua level prices without getting noctua level support?
Test this on 7950 x and it would crumble completely😂, Mike from hardware canucks has proven it. Also can't wait for some thermalright fanboys shows up in the comment
@@MadridistaFrieren not really, they both use two 8 core chipsets that use the same amount of power. They are even under the same heat spreader. The only difference is actually the 3dvcache, which only adds power draw to the chip (that actually makes the x3d version the better chip to use for benchmarking lol).
This is a good commercial for the Phantom Spirit 120, IMO
all the dual tower coolers work pretty well
@@CR055FIRE And the Phantom Spirit 120 does it for a little more than 1/3 the price of the one in this video
@@JoelZBub ya but it's ugly and i'm not poor

Came here to say this!
If that's the case, couldn't you mount 3 Fans in total?
@@wldkhn456seems like you could, if you get the rails (and most preferably the same model of fan) from corsair.
I think that they did it to keep shipping costs down, but I am not sure how the contents were arranged in the box.
"Ocean Destroyer 3000" got me laughing hard
Good to know it performs well on X3D chips. The same can't be said for non 3D chips though.
Indeed, this is really an intel cooler at heart.
@@Kakaroti it's just a heatsink bro it doesn't know what it's cooling 😆
Great review, too many users under utilize the reliability of an air tower. CM824 works amazing with a 7950x3d from my experience.
Another solid review.
Does the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 140 improve on the 120 version?

Any chance for a Thermalright Frost Vortex 140 SE review?
Could you make a test where you put the NF-A12X25 on it or the silent wings pro 4? Im just curious what it could do with better fans.
Corsair is in a tough position, those seeking premium will choose Noctua, while those looking for price/performance will opt for Thermalright.

Arctic freezer 36 is it good if i want to use 120 watt 7600x or should i consider this Corsair one....

Will it be fine for a r7 5800x3d with -30 UV?

It's $99.99 on their US site!
It's 99.99 in USA
Corsair must be smoking some pretty good pot if they think they will make bank selling this cooler for £100 when you can get a Thermalright for £30-35
yes

Corsair is not what it used to be now its overprice trash aios and bad QC and icue is also trash 💀
nah not for $100.......
i would NOT use that pre-applied thermal paste. lol wtf was that? sorry attempt. they shouldn't have bothered at all

This looks like they just copied Arctic's homework
You mean ID Cooling lol
Corsair support sucks so a big no
Most things about this company suck. They rarely do something as good as this cooler.
I keep thinking this is the SVS youtube channel and wondering what they are doing with computer parts
