- French coconut pie recipe, the best coconut pie I have eaten. Very easy to make, set oven 300 degrees 2 deep dish pie crust or 3 regular pie crust, use fork and prink holes in the bottom on pie crust and sides, bake for 10 minutes, take out and make filling, 8 large mix well in bowl, add 3 cups sugar, one at a time and mix, add one cup buttermilk, add 1 1/2 sticks unsalted buttered melted, do not put in mix hot, add 2 teaspoons of vanilla mix all well and pour into pie crusts and bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until it will not move. Let cool before cutting.

I’m thinking that you might be shameless, Beverly. I rescrolled to get a second look at this lovely pie. I gave up sugar - not a good friend for my bod and it hasn’t been That hard, but your recipes have a way of getting to me.

I absolutely agree about pie crusts. I can make crusts, but I don't want to either. One of my favorite stories my husband told me about his late mother was when he was trying to make a Graham cracker crust like hers and it wasn't coming out just so. He called her up and if she could tell him how she got her crusts so perfect. She said " Sure, I buy the thing." If it is good enough for a woman who produced such a fine man, it's a good enough solution to me. Thank you for reading my story.

Oh Ms. Black….looks absolutely delicious! A trick I use when baking with coconut, I run it through food process to chop it up in smaller pieces. Avoid the clumping & the need to chew it so much. Like a cow chewing grass sometimes! 😂😂 I’m also one to use premade pie crust! Pillsbury one are great ! You pinch the edges so looks homemade!! Thank you for great video! So simple…..yet so delicious! ✌🏼♥️🙏🏼

I love what I call coconut custard pie. I had this pie before and it didn't come out quite like I should. I found you scrolling. I love how simple you made this look. My ingredients were all laid out all except for buttermilk. I've never used that before. I always used evaporated milk. Buttermilk Im using this time.
After cooking and cooling my pies. I has a hard time getting my slice out without having to spoon it out ( not sure why, but think that maybe the crust had been refrozen. Also it was really, really sweet. Any suggestions?
This pie is sweet, I always have trouble with that first slice and I have spooned it out, make sure it cools completely, you can take some of the sugar out, but once it is at the consistency it needs to be the sweetest doesn’t bother me.

Why dark vanilla is there a difference can you use coconut milk instead. Does it make a difference

being diabetic this has way too much sugar this pie is a diabetic nigh mare.
You are right, but I am blessed not to have it, and with all the desserts I make, I give most of them away and bless others.
You can always reduce the sugar and it tastes even better to me. I don't like super sweet desserts either.
