A native multi-generation Capetonian, I lived 8 years in San Diego. It struck me that when folks visited me there I could exhaust that city's unique features in about a single day of touring (half a day if the traffic wasn't bad). In Cape Town (and I mean--only the city and not the mountains, winelands, surrounding coastal villages.... which would more than double things) you need a minimum of 10 to 14 days to begin to see the place. It's an astounding city.
Nice scenery of the place where I grew up. Couple of comments if I may. 1) I’ve never heard anybody say ‘Chappies’ apart from the cheap bubblegum we bought at the corner shop. 2) The Cape Wheel is not a must and quite surprised it even made this list. 3) 9:35 This stadium is not in Cape Town; it’s not even in South Africa!! It’s in Brazil, Estádio Cícero Pompeu de Toledo. 4) Why is Bolders Beach not on this list?
I've has the privilege of visiting Cape Town a number of times and if given the chance I would encourage you to go and see it fr yourself. While it is a beautiful place with alot to offer visitors please be aware of your surroundings and anything you value on your person. As with most cities anywhere around the world there are people who are looking for an opportunity to lighten your load and make quick money.
Old biscuit mill is overrated but good that you said it’s more of a weekend thing. Robben island is a drag. Yes it show case Madiba’s prison time but most people have said it is actually a little boring. If you ride the wheel, i will personally throw you off there. You have a kilometer high mountain now you want to go and ride something that will show case the mall’s roof? No man! Many activities in CT is weather dependent - the winds can cancel many activities but it gives opportunity for wine tasting or restaurant hopping (don’t just settle for one restaurant), the food is great and cheap for many visitors so explore it.
An interesting list, but I would recommend the following 10 activities instead: 1. Open your eyes... 2. ... See the "Welcome to South Africa" sign in the airport terminal... 3. ... Glance out the window and hope you've been lied to... 4. ... Scream internally... 5. ... Think about who might be responsible for bringing you here... 6. ... Quietly plot your revenge... 7. ... Walk to the nearest ticket dispenser... 8. ... Make sure your wallet is still there... 9. ... Purchase nonstop flight to New Zealand... 10. ... Sleep.
amen I couldn't have said it better myself. This is one of the most boring cities on earth. I have no idea why anybody would visit. Sunny goddam weather all day every day. snorefest. There is nothing to do here and there are way way way better destinations than this shithole city.
Its astounding alright, astoundingly fucking boring. Once you have done all there is to do the city turns on you like a vampire and bites you to death with boredom.

I live in cape Town. Chapman's peak is very scary to drive
So many minor innacurcies.
You beat me to it!. Sloppy, lazy research and woeful script-writing.
Used to be fantastic. You forgot to mention..leave phone in hotel, hide money in shoe when going out..oh yeah and reload magnum 45.
Sounds like America. Best if u stay n ur country and don't travel. World is a better place without ppl like u about

I have lived here all my life (I'm 62 years old) and I can find something new to experience in this city every day.
@@luvi122 Well done. So what are your top ten things to do in cape town.
