@@MrWestTek would running west tech with nuka grenades and collecting everything from your kills accomplish the same thing? I’m thinking run WT 2-3 times scrapping everything, then hitting up the mine. And repeating. XP, Steel, and lead. Thoughts?
Solid info for lead ore farming and how to respawn items in the world.
The method you described is probably more effective but an alternative is to farm tin cans, specifically tin can chimes, as each can is made of 1 lead and 2 steel. Less effective but it doesn’t need acid for smelting which may help lower level players who are constrained by lack of acid. You can collect a lot of lead this way. IIRC, there are 5 chimes at Whitespring golf club, 6 at Pleasant Valley ski resort / Top of the World, 6 at Camden Park, and a large number at Eastern Regional Penitentiary. No doubt there are others. Each chime has 9 cans, so 9 lead, meaning running the above locations should yield over 240 lead.
Just take iver a workshop with acid and chill your life there lol
As a solid bonus, the 255 books are cloth. So that’s a 2 in 1. I can use it to craft gunpowder.
Thanks for creating this video. I ran the lead farming mission tonight and the first run I got 244 lead ore and when I smelt it with Super Super, got 765 units. Second run, found deposits I missed on the first run and got 415 lead ore which turned into 1295 units of lead. Will be doing this lead farming more in the future. Great videos you have created for this game.

Thanks for explaining/affirming that the 255 loot pickup plus server hop== ore respawn (that this process works for more than just loose items). The cool thing about this process is that it not only works with any ore you are farming (of course), but also with virtually anything you can imagine farming: crops, brain fungus (for brain bombs), copper (at the lighthouse, both ore and scraps), ballistic fiber, weights (for the high lead yield they give) and on and on.
If you are looking for other spots to pick up items then the school at Watoga has loads of plates and cutlery. Also the compound at sons of Dane is also good 👍
Watoga HS is a really good place for collecting stuff & you end up with a ton of plastic, all round a great place to loot, especially if you need to Bulk the lead you just got :)

OMG, I thought it was just me. It's the worst I've ever seen.
There is a lead deposit just outside of that mine too, perfect spot for a farming camp with one of those extractor machines. Ammo becomes an issue early on if you don't have "unlimited" lead and acid.
just a couple of things you need to make sure you have plenty of acid to breakdown the lead, Lead ore is heavy and will weight you down fast and it will not go into your scrap box
there is a chem bench in lucky hole mine so you can use that and use a scrap kit or your survival tent to put the lead into you scrap box or just make your ammo.

@@sherrydowns4052 hemlock holes maintenance workshop has 3 acid spots you can put extractors on. Snallygasters drop acid. Ther are several at the flooded trainyard, 3 at toxic Larry's meat and go and a chance to have either snallygasters or radscorpians at kiddie corner cabins. Basically kill snallygasters and hop worlds and repeat. Some bot vendors may sell bulk acid but its uncommon and you have to hit all of them and have caps for that. Cave crickets also drop acid but the only sure place I know to find them is The Deep which ther is a submerged tunnel inside you have to swim through. Bloodbug proboscis also break down into acid so always do tea time and campfire tales as many bloodbugs spawn during those events. Also acidic gulpers gland breaks down into acid so always do moonshine jamboree. Most people just do the workshop. You get 10 from each extractor every 30 minutes and you dont have to hop worlds or wait for the right events to pop up. Some junk items also scrap into acid like abraxo cleaner, chlorine, gas canisters, rat poison or antifreeze so always pick up and scrap junk if you need resources. Oh yao gao also drop acid but are few and far between. That's pretty much it as far as I know.
@@sherrydowns4052 I take Hemlock Holes as someone else suggested but I do not recommend doing it on a public server. I only do it on a private server now because in my experience, and it's a lot, every time I've built that workshop up, someone will take it from me. It's very valuable just because it has 3 acid nodes, so if someone sees it being farmed, they'll take it. 99.9% guaranteed.
Abraxo cleaner can be scraped for acid and is a common loot in alot of locations

I hit Lucky hole mine, All 3 Silo gyms, penitentiary, fire house, then the book house, also picking up random items along the way. Good turn around and it respawns almost all the books
If lead is an issue for Ammo try Railgun. Nothing but steel rounds and collecting steel from breaking down items is far simpler too.
Railgun is good but not that good to replace the other weapons
@@KingDusk278 I beg to differ. I have a Quad Explosive +1 Agil and a Quad, 25 % faster fire Rate, 25% less AP that, in my opinion, outdoes all but the Original Legacy weapons.
The latter of the Two is my go to because of the less AP consumption.
I would place my Railgun up against any other weapons in the current rendering of fallout 76.

You need to have both excavator arms equipped ( and most likely the torso [ haven't tested this yet myself ] ) if you're running a mixed set to get more ore when farming deposits. Was literally wondering if smelting benefited from Super Duper - thnx for confirmation.

wouldn't grabing weights be more lead per hour then trying to farm up the ore, since you also need to farm up acid in order to smelt the ore to bars.
This is really useful for the times that we get free Fallout 1st, especially with the new ammo box

I would suggest, responded lead to make a trip to all nuke bunkers and collect the lead weights there before you log out to another server.
Also, thought, 255 count by collect vegetables? If so vegetable garden maybe to make collect easier?
I haven't tried it but an Idea none the less.
I mean the white spring refuge has something like 700-1200 items you can pick up, the mall has about 500, and more than 10% is clothing hangers.

You don't get as much as you use to unfortunately, but still good for lead. I also suggest grabbing it in bulk at train stations when the vendor has it. It's not too expensive and adds up quick :)
@@MrWestTek I went to checkout and it's worked..but you must have full excavator body armor to gets 486 leads plus used super duper multiplier you gets 1500 leads which nice.without excavator body armo only gets 186 lead
Sometimes I just go to west tek and have the scrapper perk on and collect all weapons from enemies and scrap them. Usually I get like 400 steel and make railway spikes (if u have all ammo and super duper on) just use the ammo converter to trade for what u want.
A lot of people have told me this method. Maybe I will give it a try. thanks for the suggestion!
I saw similar video like this. But when they got over 250 they scraped it then fast traveled some were and bk again then log into new server and it worked. I tryed didnt work but I'm gnna try your way it obviously work from the looks of it.
Items wont respond unless you pick up 255 items and start a new server.
After the second time if you go back to the house in the books ain't all there all you have to do is fast forward to or fast travel to the overseer's house in fast travel back and butt Jordy of them should be back if not all of them you may have to fast travel back and forth once or twice but it will work
I'd rather just go to whitespring. After testing for hours yesterday, more than half the books won't be there.
I need 308 ammo for my sniper and light MG between the 2 of the they eat more lead then a T1000

Right before the hotfix I tried to open my game at least 7 to 8 times and it kicked me out each time

If I mess up & in my second run there’s no more lead etc do I have to wait a day for it to reset? Bc I had like 370 items when I left the world I guess I have to be 255-260

Anybody just keep Excavator arms on their everyday armor? Swapping armor isn’t a big deal, but is there much of a disadvantage of having Excavator arms over like X-01?

Could 255 dirty water be used instead of books? I'm asking because you can pick up as much water as you want from any river or lake. Don't even know if it could work!

Sorry I meant, can you just server hop and keep doing that or is it like a ammo box that you have looted for the day? As in an empty ammo box once looted as for the lead ore? Does the lead ore respawn after a server jump?

@@tinmansolo5855 It works the same as containers. Everything in the game that you can pick up, ore, planets, outfits etc work the same way.
please do a plastic farm I need it badly for bulking and plasma ammo
Plastic is easy to get, Nuka cups with straws, golf balls, plastic plates, cups and bowls, all of these items can be found in the amusement parks, golf courses and many other areas, Life preservers are another way to get plastic and they are scattered throughout the map at water parks, any place that has a body of water. Highlight the item in your junk section in the pipboy and when out scraping for stuff the item that has plastic or whatever resource you need will have the magnifier icon next to the item name.

You get it with stamps at Whitespring. 1000 stamps. I have a video on where to find a chainsaw. Just as good as the auto-axe.

It's cap on the 260 it's 500 junk items and the server respawns all junk around that area each area like cranberry bog or the ash heap it definitely depends on how much you collect for that area otherwise you have to wait for the rest of hop severs

Moonshine jamboree is a great event for Acid
Hemlock holes is another option.

So instead of having people travel server to server for ten minutes so they can play the whole week now you gotta find a bunch of crap to respawn

Collecting dirty water didn't work for me.
I switch between 2-3 chars. Char 1 resets Char 2....

The crashes are happening on all platforms. Bethesda Support has acknowledged it and I hope it's fixed soon.

Because it's not a 100% guarantee that you'll get lead. Only some drop lead and others just drop steel.

@MTi-xm4ek it literally is worth it, even with the ore nerf it's still the fastest way to get lots of lead for ammo, I did it for a few days and got 4k lead ore which got me about 14500 lead total. With all the ammo perks I spent about 1000 lead for 14k .45 ammo which has lasted me 2 weeks so far. It's totally worth it even if you on do like 2 or 3 runs
@@tubermoverplaysgames9225 its worthless if you did run for ammo on several points on map whit loot reset, you had 10000-15000 ammo for weapon that you need and that just for couple hours not days!
