It looks awesome. Nice job. How durable is plasti dip? Will it peel off during a car wash or daily use? How easily does it get damaged (rock hitting it on the freeway, etc)?
Russ Tanner It last long time depending how you maintain it I usually leave it from 8months to a year and the change colors. I will resist pressure washer as long you don’t place nozzle to close on the same place.
Exactly. People don't believe the dip isnt paint. Always warm the cans in a bucket of hot ( just hot enough for you to stand having it running over your hand, not boiling) water. I warm two cans so I can spray then switch cans between coats. Comes out smooth .
I need your help, Janne. Your wheels are a perfect color for what I want. I looked everywhere and all I saw was either too dark or too light. Your mix in this vid is perfect. Great job. But ... I ordered and used the same paints and got an almost light black result ... way, way darker than yours. I can't figure out how you got this lighter color with these 3 paints. Even an expert at DYC couldn't figure out how you got this result with this combo (dark grey + graphite metallizer + glossifier) after he watched your video. Did you use anything else besides these three, like a pearl or silver something else? Was it just these 3 or were there steps that weren't included in the vid? I could really use your help. Thanks man!
sorry for the late reply, i just saw the comment. I only used dark (dark grey + graphite metallizer + glossifier). the more metallizer you use the lighter grey will looks. i also added wipe new after the glossifier to add gloss.
That color matched your car perfectly!

I am going to plasti dip my rims on my 2011 335i as well. How many cans of glossifier did you use for all 4 wheels?
I used 2 cans of glosifier and then wipe new to seal it.
Does the metalizer and glossifier have the same rubbery texture as standard plasti dip?
No, they feel pretty smooth just like if they were painted.
