So they are actually playing by their own rules.
Never actually thought they would cheat but coming back to a trick judged wrongly is actually really noble.
There's a good chance they haven't cheated. Penn uses code and the magician then basically gets the call whether they know based on the code used. In this case Simon said they knew, while apparently they didn't. I wouldn't be surprised if they found out much later when for example talking to a judge about it, and then decided to invite him back to give him the trophy.
@@ExitiumNL That's what I got from it, yes.
@@ExitiumNL Not the only time they've done it. There have been a few cases when the judges backstage have overruled P&T, or when a language barrier has caused some issues, or other reasons. But they always make it right. Because above all else, they are professionals.
Clearly they thought the chips were gimmicked and had no problem saying that in front of an audience here, so why didn't they just say that in the first place?
@@EveryDooDarnDiddlyDay Great question! Earlier, since they thought he was using gimmicked chips, they did not want to give away the trick, so they had to speak in code. Now that they knew he wasn't using gimmicked chips, they could say 'gimmicked chips' in front of the entire audience without giving away the magic.
This so clearly displays how fair minded these guys are (and their honest intent of helping countless magicians via this show!!) 2 wonderful magicians, 2 wonderful brains, 2 wonderful human beings ☺️
As much as I have seen they have never mocked any performer on this show. Except Kostya Kimlat which just proves how good he is. Even if they know the trick inside-out they always appreciate crafts- and showmanship which goes to their act. Just being on this show is boost to many magician's career. Just being there performing means they deserve larger expose and promotion from Penn & Teller.
WOW! How bad are they these days! Forgotten sleight of hand! 🤦♂️🤷♂️ which is often quite visible in the video....
@@danquaylesitsspeltpotatoe8307 because human eyes are not video lmao
Love that they have the humility to realize their mistake, and go out of their way to correct it
Wasn’t their mistake though. He mistook what they said. It was his mistake for not clarifying what they said 🤷🏽♂️
Really love it. I love the concept that they were able to retroactively give the man a trophy. One of the previous commenters pointed out something I didn't notice, which is that it was always the red chip.
first time: she says thanks for a nice evening
second time: wanna come back to my place?
Penn and teller pretend that they hate getting fooled. But after watching the show for a long time I’ve concluded that they actually enjoy getting fooled and enjoy giving up the trophy. They’re actually rooting for the magicians
Everybody likes magic.
Except Kostya Kimlat and that is because it was pointless for them to even try to figure out how he did it and maybe with Mahdi (handless magician) because he just did something unseen. Even in those cases it is admission of skill way above their own.
They love getting fooled because it’s a sign of An amazing trick
One thing I noticed on this trick originally and just noticed again is that it's always the red chip that moved
Which honestly makes the whole thing more brilliant to me. It means he does the whole thing with 4 chips. And between each transfer, he moves a chip across at the same moment that he's hiding the left hand red and revealing the hidden red in his right. Crazy good.
Ah, that explains the only question I had, which was how he could palm 3 in his hand without us noticing; I did see the slip up where he had 3 visible in his right hand for just a moment when he theoretically had passed one to his left already.
his trick is actually stupid simple
That explains both how he fooled P&T and why he didn't think he would.
It's astounding they fell for such a simple trick, but it's so well executed
Thats a high level of slide of hands
@@spaceshido6124 "sleight of hand" is the term.
They make an allowance for that. There are things they know are 100% "just" sleight of hand, but if they can't see the seams so to speak, they agree that they were fooled. Kostya Kimlat doing a version of a trick they themselves did on TV, with them sitting point-blank at the table on stage, is a good example.
They know what he did.
They have no idea how he did it so cleanly.
@@serioushex3893 no it's slice of hands
@@flumfabliau No, it's "Slice of hams".
I saw that he always switched back to the red chip. makes me think he had 4 chips - 2 red
2:06 that “oh!” Has me crying
It takes a man to admit when he is wrong and only to ask for forgiveness in return… cheers
Couldn’t agree with more!
this was weird, i thought tricks like this are usually done with sleight of hand, not gimmicks
That is why we divide magicians into magicians and jugglers or shellfishers. Magicians actually use a smart hand, while jugglers use a quick hand. Jugglers are mostly Asians who are really good at it and can sell their style of "magic", but it's not the classic magic we prefer for the cleverness of the execution over the speed.
there are multiple gimmicked coin tricks, for example 2 coins were one is hollow on one side and the other fits inside of it. Both look the same size but once you hide them in your hand, one of them can easily disappear (being inside the other).
@@DL-kc8fc What are you talking about? Sleight of hand or "quick hand" is as much a part of "classical" magic as any other. Card magic is heavily built upon quick hands as much as smart hands. I've never even heard those terms before; no one in the magic community calls it "quick hands", it's called sleight of hand. Stop spreading falsehoods, especially to vilify Asian magic, when European magic uses similar or the same techniques.
People who use sleight of hand primarily or exclusively are as much magicians as anyone else.
@@DL-kc8fc I’m not Asian, but your comment is really insensitive and ignorant.
@@DOC_951 Keep calm. I praise Asian magic for its originality (I have it written above) and these fast jugglers can sell their magic well to the audience, but they really differ from classic European magic. European magic is not so fast (it is not juggling) and black theater has ceased to be used in the last century. European magic relies heavily on fake switches and offers a lot of speculation. Asian magic is about a very fast hand or a black scene, so it offers nothing to speculate. That's just a fact. If this has affected you, for example, European (stage) magic is quite conservative and lacks a variety of performances. Card tricks or pulling pigeons out of their jackets are no longer attractive and therefore focus more on clever old tricks, but with a new wow effect. Asian "magic" is traditional and is rather perceived as a cultural and artistic performance that is born of more dexterity and long training.
I wouldn't have thought the chips were gimmicked. Just that he was holding the chips he needed in the receiving hand, and was ditching the ones he didn't need anymore into his sleeve or something.
Awe he actually fooled them. With the beginning it seemed more like it was obvious that the red chip somehow became the green chip and that he did a good job at hiding the chips in his hands. Great sleight of hand.
🖐🤚
Amazing trick. Wish I had those sleight of hand skills. Congrats.
Real class act, these two. Much respect.
There's 4 chips. He's hiding a chip in his "empty" hand.
I'm actually surprised they were fooled by this. I guess the short amount of time they had to figure it out and them thinking you were doing something you weren't is why. I suspect after watching it again they realized what you did.
This is an amazing performance. Yes, I know how it's done (let's just say there are not 3 chips), but his skill is amazing. Also he bluffs how he does it so elegantly, I'm blown away.
why
I thought he had three chips in each hand. He just hid one and revealed the other at the same time, simultaneous slight of hand
4 chips, 2 red ones. As for the last move, the only thing that is possible, in my mind, is that when he moved his hand to his armpit, he delivered the red chip in a pocket, and then it was just theatrics until the end when he just do his normal trick of making the other red chip rolls behind the others in his left hand.
Now, what I think he tried to do was to make 2 fake movements to lead them astray. First he suggests he could be pressing the chip in his armpit, but he reveals it cannot be it when he releases it. In addition, he makes some hand movements that could suggest he hid the chip in the middle of the index and middle fingers. Then he showed the palm, and he moved it again to the palm and showed the back of the hand, and then moved the chip inside his suit.
Now, I'm betting on a pocket because the hiding behind fingers stuff seems ridiculously hard for me (a layman). And I could not grasp how could he transfer from the back of the hands to the palm again even at 0.25 speed. If that's how he did it, wow. Amazing hands.
Exactly. The 2 red chips set the whole thing up. Funny how the first chip he “teleported” was red but then it’s green. That’s because he had to switch the colors so that he could hide the second red behind the green. His sleight of hand is good but I’m still surprised that this “fooled” penn and teller.
but there is only 3 chips at the end that Teller is allowed to examine... So if there is more than 3 chips that is cheating. Same as if the magician said the cards are examinable, but shows them a real deck and keeps secret a second cheat cards...
simple sleight of hand........ but.....................done so dog dam well even at .25 speed you can barely see it unless you know what to look for. like so smooth you need frame by frame. even .25 speed took 10 times rewatching. dude im so amazed. i was so impressed and entertained watching 1st time. i hit rewind like 50 times. you fooled me and my slo-mo replay even. dam you good!
saying god is not damning... you have to have and instabce before it like damn (name) even Jesus christ is accepted because your not doing anything but mentioning a name..
lol every time I hear it I say huh? god damn what? what do you want him to damn..... an they look at me like I dont use proper ENGLISH lol ENGLIASH first... religion 2nd lol
Nice one chap, good work.
replay it you can see he was pinching the chips... he acted like he stuck the last chip in his armpit then showed he didnt cause it didnt fall.. there is a pocket in his suit jacket hidden so it would not fall
Trick is simple, but the timing and speed is very high skill.
Got to love obnoxiously loud intros followed by a quieter video.
This felt like they were gonna punk him again as they say its on April 1st.. I thought it was gonna be a trophy saying F*** U or something and tell him of course he didnt fool us!
How did they NOT see the extra chip palmed in his left hand!?
Because they are sitting far away and don't have the zoom in effect you get when watching it on video..
Wonderful honesty
Also means the backstage judges got it wrong. Which is weird, because they know how the trick is done. I'm genuinely confused how this slipped through.
1:58 the second red chip is clearly visible between his index and middle fingers of his left hand when he crosses his arms
That doesn't look like the chip, but light reflecting off his finger...when he lowers his hand a second later, you don't see anything.
I don't think that's where the chip is though so I think pursuit is right, its probably just light or maybe his shirt color showing through. The chip is almost assuredly behind the green and blue chip at this point because just moments later he thumbs it up in the fan making it seem like the chip just traveled there, when in actuality, he's always had a red chip in that hand throughout the entirety of the trick.
The 4th chip of one particular color..good 👍
Now I wanna see them take some trophies back LOL
All I have to say is there is a veerrry good reason the only color chip he sends across is the red one.
Definitely. He has only one addtional (fourth) chip and that one is red. This is why he needs to always "teleport" the red one.
@@BobbyFischer0000 It means he has two red chips, and he's just using sleight of hand, instead of using a gimmicked chip like P&T thought. Doesnt have to be a red chip, hell it would have made it a lot easier if all the chips are the same color, no need to keep switching back.
when he swaps his hands over for the last chip if you slow it down you can see where it hits inside his sleeve
So what mistake was made? They would have said in code how he did it and he happily and willing accepted they had figured it out. Did they say it was coins and it turns out it wasn’t? Have to respect Penn and Teller to admit they were fooled and ensure he got his trophy.
They thought the chips were a gimmick, usually done with coins, but there were real chips. He simply used extra chips in his magic
they did the right thing!!!!
Good on them to give him a trophy
APril fools , u didnt fool us , give us a that trophy back luls
or he walks behim stage and it disapears , and has a letter in the place of it saying , "happy April fools day "
Thought it was pretty obvious there were 4 chips from the first watch. You can see him palming it in his left hand constantly
Shuffling . Not 6 chips ?lol
his trick is actually stupid simple thats why he thought he didnt fool them
I think the guy had 2 red chips one in each hand and he showed one while hiding the other, then he hid the red chip again when he "changed" it for the green chip and showed the other one, still having a red chip in each hand, otherwise, why would he change the chips?
I'm not going to pretend I know how everything was done but (spoiler alert) if you slow the video down for the first chip, you can actually see the 4th chip in his left hand before the chip completely disappears from his right!
that intro kill anyone else's ears? I think they're bleeding
Shouldn't he get two trophies? One for fooling them with the trick and one for fooling them that he didn't fool them!
At 1:04 he sends over the red chip. Then suddenly it’s a green chip.
Then at like 1:30 he sends over the red chip. Then it’s purple
so much more respect
So he didn't use a gimmick coins and is truly just great at slight of hand?
Ahh don't watch where the coin is just ignore everything ,but the hand the "appear" in. Interesting change of finger placement during the switch and am I crazy or at about 1:28 the hand he raises looks white between his fingers before the reveal. I assume it's the light reflecting and he really has 4 coins.
When they come back from the break they are taking their trophy back from Jibrizzy
Lol this is the only trick I managed to solve my own. Like 1:04 he just shoved the red chip under the green and blue one in his right hand and the second red chip he took from the palm of his hand. This trick is pure slight of hand
So was it they simply guessed wrong in code talk, but we're close enough that Simon thought they had right? Then later, how did they understand they were wrong? Was it him talking on RUclips, or did someone point it out later? It's cool they openly stated they were wrong, just wondering what transpired to bring it all up.
Another magician gets to know the secret and acts as a judge. In this case P&T sounded like they knew what was up. Guessing the judge caught the mistake later.
Love it.
Let's act surprised even though we were brought onto the show and wired up for audio with lapel mic! Totally unexpected!
They probably just told him they would have him guest star and talk about his trick and prepared him for that
Interesting that this foold Penn and Teller. This is literally the oldes trick in the book. I just know a few coin tricks and I'm not even a magician but it is the most common coin trick. You can also "see it" in a couple of moves. Still he has awesome skills.
Right? I don't understand how they were fooled.
There are different ways to do a trick like this and P&T only gets one guess. They thought it was gimmicked chips, when in fact the trick was performed only with sleight of hand.
They probably know every single way to do the trick, but since they only could guess once, they guessed the wrong method.
1:04 / 1:05 you can see the chip in both hands at the same time :)
Did he give them 4 chips to inspect?
Ozempic Penn just doesn't look right to me.
There is two red chips. He hides one at a time
class acts.
Zooty zoot zoot!
Now a days, that would never happen, admitting that you were wrong. It takes character and honesty to do that and Penn & Teller just proved themselves to be of high character and honesty, unless they are performing magic themselves. Great job Gentleman.
Okay so I hit the back button a few times. I think that you just moved very very fast. Faster than the eyes can focus. Or you defined gravity.😂
You can see the first two "teleports" pretty easily if you use spacebar to pause and then press comma and period to frame rewind/advance. He does have fast hands...but he's also sneaking in a massive head start if you know where to look.
There is one thing I can't seem to figure out... Who was the surprise guest?

@@nintendonerdsvideos4727 Giblet = Onxy??
This is one of the easiest tricks I haver seen. lol
ok... actually he didn't fool me... always the same red poker chip and the same routine :D
right... and because of that you can now explain the method he used?
@@diemyfriend yeah he’s just concealing the 2nd red chip in his appearing hand then sliding one down while sliding the other one out, at least thats what i assumed he was doing when i first watched it, didnt even think about using gimmicked chips
Freeze at 1:10. Tell me I'm seeing things.
good guys
Pause at :51 ... Two red chips. One hidden the other shown.
the earrape at start...why???
GREAT showman, but such a simple sleight; I think Penn n Teller phoned it in, like when kids are on; They weren't fooled. If you watch this full-screen, and in RUclips change the * cog Settings >> Playback speed to -> 0.25, you can easily see what he's doing at least with the first two coins. Yes. Count em up and you seem to go ahem, past 3 coins total. A coin held sideways is not a coin at all. When the coin leaves one side, the magician doesn't rotate the remaining poker chips to show them from their sides. Hmm. Why is that? ;)
You can probably figure out most tricks if you watch them in slow motion
@@fritos1445 yup, Penn & Teller doesnt have Slow mo eyes LOL, Honesty above all...
@@riskyvangke6287 Nor do they have zoom eyes
Watch on slow motion. U can see it. Follow the red coin. Kinda dumb actually.
huh? Why are the vids clipped.. not even expanation on why they were fooled.
into way too loud
oh wow, that intro is soooooooooo loud.
Maybe I’ve watched too many of these but it was super obvious to me how this was done. Surprised it fooled Penn & Teller 🤔
They also consider beeing fooled when they know how it is done but didnt see when. Because here it is just sleight of hand (very good one) and this isnt hard do know. But they never saw it so they give trophy to him
gotta remember the distance they r watching from too? idk
Basically there are two methods to do this trick. They can only pick one. They guessed the wrong one.
Watch video at .25 speed
Unnecessarily loud intro music is unnecessarily loud.
lol. cool. 😎
Wow! I have no idea how he does that.
Check out my Comment for clues ;)
nope
intro is slightly too loud not hating just saying
Now they need to give Jay Sankey a trophy too! He fooled them and humbly left the stage with Penn and Teller thinking they hadn't been.
ruclips.net/video/AbDgK0VbDsY/видео.html This is penns response to that trick. Doing a well known trick with a slightly different and worse method that ends up being identical to the original in every way just to say "gotcha" shouldn't be rewarded.
This isn't your video. Let the original magicians upload their own stuff.
Nobody has stopped the original magician uploading it. I wouldn't have seen this great clip otherwise and many others wouldn't have either. If you had even a few working brain cells then maybe you would figure out that after seeing this video, people are gonna check out his channel, just like I did.
Your intro is horribly loud.
Oh come on even I figured out how he did it, he had extra chips in his palms, especially at the first move you see him hiding red one behind other two and bringing same ones that he kept behind fingers, sleigh of hand mastery definitely, but a fooler, not..
actually, yes a fooler . the name of the show is " Penn and TEller fool us ". Not " Chris Vaughan : fool me"

intro so loud. didn't watch.
I hate these annoying useless sound intros...
Come on... actually you can see very clear where he switched to his other hand and hiding the chips, can't understand this judge now, when someone has a phenomenal routine then they didn't get fooled bc a big magician does it once in another show, but this b-day trick fool them, feel sorry for those who does deserved it more than this lame act, even he feels so surprised about it so dunno pfff..
you're missing the point
Wow look at this snobby elitist who thinks he knows everything
You are perfect example of a person who does not know enough to know what they do not know. Penn explained it very well here, this effect can be achieved in multiple ways and they picked the wrong one. And on top of that this magician is more skilled as he is using arguably the more difficult method.
The show obviously is not (just) about the trophy, the trophy is just a crutch to keep audience more engaged and to give magicians some bragging rights, but the truth is that every one who successfully auditions for the show is already a winner and very talented magician.

@@stevenospam4216 Very fitting 😂
He had other coins palmed the entire time...Just watch one hand or even at the very beginning. His fingers are open for a few frames and you can see the extra coins. So although this is "noble" I'm pretty sure there was more to it lol there is no way they were actually fooled. They've been in the game a very long time to fall for this.
