Ted, I’ve used those Gambler bullets since the 80’s and I have dozens that I bought when they were super cheap. 😜🤷🏻♂️ I still use them and they are so simple and effective.
Dude your video KICKS A**!!!! I am right this moment struggling with fishing effectively in thick weeds and lilly pad growths that will only get thicker. And no surprise that's were all the bassand especially the ONLY quality bass (for these lakes) of over 4lbs accessible for shore angler's like myself Well done
I’m going to have to give this a try since a lot of the ponds I fish are snotted up with filamentous algae that globs on any knots or protrusions. Thanks for sharing!
Hey man, some of the criticism here in the comments was a bit harsh, but there is some truth to it regarding being more concise and editing out parts that aren't essential. I hope you don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, because you do have some golden nuggets of info here. All that being said, kudos for making videos to help people learn new techniques. And nice catches! I subbed and hope to see more from you! Fish on, friend. 🎣
Thanks just trying to share what works for me that not everyone seem to know about. Also this was one of my 1st technique videos and I was still figuring things out. More videos are in the works 🎣
Just seen your video. If you haven't discovered a better way to "thread the bullet" yet do what I do. I use straight braid also. Trying to put it through a small hole, like the eye of a drop shot hook, is impossible. Take a small piece of mono, thread one end through the bullet then the other end of mono through the same end so you have a loop. Put your braid through the loop and pull the mono through the bullet. It pulls the braid right through. Hope this helps. I live in Florida. My favorite lake is loaded with Hydrilla so I know how frustrating it can be. I'm going to buy some bullets.
florida rig! neat, thats three states got thei own style and i know how to do them all!! now we just gotta figure a way to diythese lil screwbullet weights.....weightless ones look like a pen tip with half of the pen's spring, and ima see if i cant diy that up tonight before i go out tomorrow.
Yeah... I’m not a fan. I don’t even punching/flip with them. I just don’t hook up as well with straight shank hook for some reason. I’m not the only one (even matt from tacticalbassin doesn’t use them). The key is the “right” ewg for each job. For me at least.
@@tedlincolnsfishinglife I've bent my hooks out just a tad and my hook up ratio improved a lot. I never flipped with an ewg before. I'll have to try it and see what happens. I'm from Tampa and miss the fishing there. I'm in Texas now.
4/0 is fine but I don’t like any other hook other than one mustad big mouth tube in the video. Any hook with a kick back to the offset bend can catch “grass/weeds” the gamsktsu monster is better than most but still get hung up.
It was off another reel. I was working as a repair guy at the local tackle shop for a few years so had some extra handles. I do really like the gomexus handles and have put both their 100mm and 110mm on a few of reals since I made this video.
@jamessipes122 definitely! Just make sure to get the 4mm (the opening). Most other brands use a 5mm, but there are also spacers you can buy to fit a 5mm on a shimano reel.
Jacob Davis both Gary’s Tacklebox and bass pro shops have them. Their hard to find (physically hard to find) because their in a small package and are clear. I also put a tackle warehouse link in the video’s description.
You haven’t fished my waters 😂 The blunt end of the stiko catches weeds. Also the screw in plastic bullet stops the bait from pulling down. I don’t fish a skickbait any other way… also caught my PB 12lb 8ozs on that exact setup.
@tedlincolnsfishinglife Excellent point.. I'm a central Floridian in my 60's, fishing Florida starting at 5 years old. It's the best hobby one can have. What you mentioned does remind me of Carolina Floaters for top water worms, snake imitation...
@@jdock32778 I’m 50 and in Gainesville and got lakes like watermelon pond were the grass/coontail/pads/hydrila and worst floating chopped up eelgrass can ruin every cast on a bad day 🤦🏻😂🎣
Not a bad idea... but I don’t seem to own many pens anymore. I’ll have to let my eyes open. I did once fix an expensive mountain bike wheel in the middle of the mountains of NC with the spring from a mechanical pencil (from a friends engineering job).
Well sometime in the 80s the bullet weight brand weights called the screw in version the Florida Rig so get that’s when I started calling it that. So I didn’t come with the rig but have fished version of since the 80s 😂.
sounds find on my end.. but i did get a mic after i made this video. i don't like short videos. hope to start make hour long videos soon, but with time codes.
Awesome video thanks for your knowledge and good explanation of your rig I don't have much luck fishing worms but I'll give it a shot
Thanks! Definitely good for those heavy weeded spots 🤫🎣
I know this is 3 yrs old but still an awesome informative video man !! 👍👍
I have it tied on today 🤫

hope it helps! it ended up how I caught my PB.
Thanks for the step by step instructions.
Shhhhhhhh 🤫, you're givin away the Fl juice! Lol, just kiddin, great vid! Fishin Fl there no where else like it! 👍👊🎣
😂🤫🎣

that kinda algae can be hard to keep off your bait... the flordia rig will help (but nothing in 100% weedless)

New sub! Keep it up!

Cool! Chopped up eelgrass is also a pain and it helps a lot with that!
Is there a link to Tim Littles Florida rig video?
Don’t think tactical bassin has actually done a Florida rig video but I’ll ask them.
When all fails, bust out the senko. I also use the BPS Stick-O because when you get a lot in one pack. 👍🏻🍺
Caught me my PB! The 7” stik-o got a 12lb 8oz Florida tanks!
Just use a red 8 or 10 millimeter bead and a bobber stop works like a charm
The screw in is key in really thick stuff (as far saving $ on baits)
Great video thank you!
Kevin Grace Thanks! More tackle hit and hacks are coming!

I’ve messed around with a few versions on my own but those gambler’s are cheap and work great so just end using them.
Ever try using a straight shank hook like a flipping hook? It'll slide through and still get hook ups

😁👍Awesome tricks! If you see what i fish in I think your tips will help!
Fishing With PH thanks man.. good luck out there!!
They should call this rig the Bruno
😂
Just had to order me some of the hollow points. Am I fine with a gamaktsu 4/0 ewg superline hook or do I need to upsize?
4/0 is fine but I don’t like any other hook other than one mustad big mouth tube in the video. Any hook with a kick back to the offset bend can catch “grass/weeds” the gamsktsu monster is better than most but still get hung up.
Where did you get the 100mm handle?

Thank you. I have two Castaic with 74mm handles. Do you know if the Gomes handles will fit these reels?
@jamessipes122 definitely! Just make sure to get the 4mm (the opening). Most other brands use a 5mm, but there are also spacers you can buy to fit a 5mm on a shimano reel.
Really liked your video and hook suggestions. I live in Sebring and fish many area lakes. If in the area, contact me for a possible trip.
@@jamessipes122 awesome! Wanted you to fish down there since watching those mikeyballzz videos 😂
Where do you get your gambler hollow points from. I also live in the Gainesville area
Jacob Davis both Gary’s Tacklebox and bass pro shops have them. Their hard to find (physically hard to find) because their in a small package and are clear. I also put a tackle warehouse link in the video’s description.
There's no need for that extra plastic on the front. The Kreh Loop, with the tag end facing back towards the worm, will not pick up weeds.

Started when I was 5 as well
To save some money I save the ends of my empty ink pens and the springs to make my own rigs.
Not a bad idea... but I don’t seem to own many pens anymore. I’ll have to let my eyes open.
I did once fix an expensive mountain bike wheel in the middle of the mountains of NC with the spring from a mechanical pencil (from a friends engineering job).
So a Texas Rig with a screw bullet weight without the weight, I'd still consider it a Texas Rig.
Well sometime in the 80s the bullet weight brand weights called the screw in version the Florida Rig so get that’s when I started calling it that. So I didn’t come with the rig but have fished version of since the 80s 😂.
Regional variations
we’re all partial to local tips of the hat. Either way I dig the set up. Cheers from Baltimore 🥃
Was interested...but sound was terrible. and dragged out. Do some editing

Just get to the point brother, this is painful to watch! This should have been a 10 minute video!
