She also would not allow the defense to play a short clip of a dash cam video a third time despite being difficult to hear and the witness saying he couldn't hear it. She needs to be more professional and compose herself. She is a judge for Christ's sake.
Can you link a time stamp in the above video of her doing that? I never noticed. I did noticed that on cross by the defense loud sirens were interrupting him and she said zero. Then the same thing happens like 30 min later to the Prosecution and she interrupts to stop the trail until the loud sirens stopped. So is that bias?

Judge Bev seems very annoyed to be there! You can sense her attitude with the defense. She definitely favors the prosecution as there is no sighing or attitude. I've never seen a courtroom set up like this. Good grief. The judge is biased and her ego got too involved where integrity should have taken precedence. Crazy that she's on this case. Batshi* crazy. If anyone in that courtroom thus far, including John's family, still believes Karen is guilty, they are either not paying attention or are too stubborn to accept that they have been wrong about this from the beginning. This PD is as corrupt as they come. She dated one of the guys in that house during a break with John. That alone is off. She didn't want to go. Someone or multiple people in that house went into a drunken rage and beat him to death. The dog became protective and attacked him too. That's a lot of drunk cops with big egos under one roof. It could have been the simplest dumb thing said that wasn't meant to offend anyone, a brawl happened and now he's dead. This was a beating. End of story. Karen is innocent and has been framed. This is real life and sadly it could happen to anyone when corruption is afoot.

I am watching from Michigan. I regularly watch court hearings and research cases as a hobby. I have read about and watched hundreds of cases. I have never in my life experienced opening statements like attorney Yanetti's. I came into this trial unbiased and open minded, but by the end of opening statements I could not help but agree with the defense. I cant wait to see what these two high level attorneys can do. On the other hand, I have never in my life, experienced such a clearly biased judge who is having a tantrum via the countless number of manufactured sighs as well as sustaining every objection that the prosecution raises. My understanding is that the defense filed for this judge to remove herself from the case and she refused. At the conclusion of this trial, she should grab a box, pack up and never be part of deciding the outcome of anyones life. She falls right in line with the corruption discussion in this area of MA. The prosecution is clearly in over his head and is scrambling. He is dull. boring and confusing. I don't believe I have taken one point away from two days. He seems to be asking an excessive amount of irrelevant questions. I understand that attorneys need to ask simple questions at times to attempt to construct the bigger picture and wrap it all together but I will admit that I don't believe this prosecutor has anything in his pocket. If he is able to come around and put it all together I will be astounded. This case/trial should have never happened. I think that is why we are witness to the court room version of a "mercy rule". I agree with the defense and I hope the jurors are all level headed individuals who are able to see that this entire case is built off of deceit.

My perceptions might be different than some others. The Judge is fair and accommodating to the defense so far. They received a change of courtrooms and last-minute AV accommodations as recent examples. The defense's opening statement was crisp and easy to understand. The prosecution seemed dry and could have summarized better the basic synopsis of the case at opening. Day 2 while some are screaming "cover-up" and saying the defense is wiping the floor with prosecution I'm not so sure. The prosecution appears to be "keeping their powder dry" and letting the video evidence and witnesses speak to the merits of the case. The O'Keefe brother and sister-in-law testimony goes to Karen Read's character. She got her stuff outta that house and was gone and made sure the O'Keefe's knew it....The video of the first police response cruiser in the snow shows how poor visibility was to blunt the "Snow plow driver did not see a body" narrative. The defense was not able to refute the Firefighter/Lead Paramedic testimony IMO. I agree he was solid and seems he heard her screaming things and "I did it" was one of them. Can't wait for Trooper Proctor testimony in this case. Sorry for the long post.
Hmmm, no offense intended but your perception seems to assume too much and ignore even more. I've been watching this trial on channels that belong to current lawyers and the objections the judge sustains didn't make sense to them. That alone is enough to indicate bias. You assume that the snow plower couldn't see clearly out the window because the police windows were blurry. However, you're not factoring in that the police have moments where they're just sitting still. You don't know if they're using their defrost at that time. Also, I think a plower has to have clear defrosted windows that aren't going to get chilled because it's sitting still. The plower is driving down streets and has to keep an eye out for cars parked on the road, people that might be walking, etc. You're assuming that his siblings are unbiased, can read minds, and haven't made a decision about what happened to their brother... Instead of the fact that even that night, they felt like she was probably the one that hit him. Maybe she was in a hurry to leave because she felt completely uncomfortable being around people that were blaming her. You're ignoring the terrible job the police did. You're ignoring that they say he was there since midnight, while also ignoring that multiple people left the party after 2, and no one saw him. You're ignoring how the person that came back to the house after 2, not only didn't see him, but also googled how long does it take to freeze to death. A dog they had for 7 years was suddenly rehomed. The victim was missing a show but the police didn't look for it. There were not bruises in his torso or thigh area where they're saying she hit him, and the gouges on his arm, wouldn't come from being hit. Also he had bruising in his hand as if he fought back, and bruising to his face that indicates he was beaten. I think you've made up your mind, which is a bad thing because legally, she's Innocent, unless and until she's found guilty.

The responding Canton officers had terrible visibility and multiple witnesses indicated it was pitch black outside. When the McCabes Left at almost 2 am, all four testified they were able to see. When the daughter left after 2 am, not once did she say it was pitch black. The plower HAS to be able to see or he would have plowed people's cars, yards, mailboxes, etc. I came into this trial rolling my eyes at the conspiracy theory and thinking she probably did hit him - just not on purpose. But the fact that you're not only fabricating details, you're ignoring a lot of important information that has given many people reasonable doubt. I hope you're never on a jury with that kind of bias.

Finished day 2 and evidence is still against the defendant. The defense attorney is aggressive and is doing a very good job but so far has not presented anything to change my mind. At least not yet!

Everything the defense is claiming about what is being done to Karen is what Karen is doing to others. She is not being framed, she is framing people for what she did. Hmmm, no offense intended but your perception seems to assume too much and ignore even more.
I've been watching this trial on channels that belong to current lawyers and the objections the judge sustains didn't make sense to them. That alone is enough to indicate bias.
You assume that the snow plower couldn't see clearly out the window because the police windows were blurry. However, you're not factoring in that the police have moments where they're just sitting still. You don't know if they're using their defrost at that time. Also, I think a plower has to have clear defrosted windows that aren't going to get chilled because it's sitting still. The plower is driving down streets and has to keep an eye out for cars parked on the road, people that might be walking, etc.
You're assuming that his siblings are unbiased, can read minds, and haven't made a decision about what happened to their brother... Instead of the fact that even that night, they felt like she was probably the one that hit him. Maybe she was in a hurry to leave because she felt completely uncomfortable being around people that were blaming her.
You're ignoring the terrible job the police did. You're ignoring that they say he was there since midnight, while also ignoring that multiple people left the party after 2, and no one saw him. You're ignoring how the person that came back to the house after 2, not only didn't see him, but also googled how long does it take to freeze to death.
A dog they had for 7 years was suddenly rehomed.
The victim was missing a show but the police didn't look for it.
There were not bruises in his torso or thigh area where they're saying she hit him, and the gouges on his arm, wouldn't come from being hit. Also he had bruising in his hand as if he fought back, and bruising to his face that indicates he was beaten.
I think you've made up your mind, which is a bad thing because legally, she's Innocent, unless and until she's found guilty.
@@NottyAries The case has unfiolded as I expected. Defense has failed through three weeks of trial to establish that John O'Keefe was in the house, that a conspiracy occurred and who was in it. Perhaps you see something else through your TB colored glasses.
@@NottyAries Never said I made up my mind just that I don't see the evidence of a vast conspiracy or that the prosecution is flawed at this point. The evidence speaks for itself. The responding Canton officers had terrible visibility and multiple witnesses indicated it was pitch black outside. For a snow plow driver to see a body from well up the street would be dubious at best. It was a blizzard at the time.
@@jimmyo68 I've watched this trial from day one and no, numerous people have NOT Said it was pitch black. When Jenn McCabe was watching Karen's car, she testified visibility was clear and good. When the McCabes Left at almost 2 am, all four testified they were able to see. When the daughter left after 2 am, not once did she say it was pitch black. The plower HAS to be able to see or he would have plowed people's cars, yards, mailboxes, etc.
I came into this trial rolling my eyes at the conspiracy theory and thinking she probably did hit him - just not on purpose. But the fact that you're not only fabricating details, you're ignoring a lot of important information that has given many people reasonable doubt. I hope you're never on a jury with that kind of bias.
Very credible witnesses. Hopefully justice will prevail. Will reserve judgement on my part until all the facts and witnesses are presented.

Finished day 2 and evidence is still against the defendant. The defense attorney is aggressive and is doing a very good job but so far has not presented anything to change my mind. At least not yet!

I noticed the Judge is jumping in when the defense tries to put words in the witnesses mouth. She not wrong but it's not her job.

Everything the defense is claiming about what is being done to Karen is what Karen is doing to others. She is not being framed, she is framing people for what she did. At the very least this was a drunk driving hit and run, possibly worse. No one should have to take the blame for what Karen Read did while drunk.
Just wondering if you still believe what you said in this comment after 16 more days of hearing Albert and friends lying through their teeth and the strange and contagious memory loss they all seem to suffer from?? I'm concerned that the Alberts house had a carbon monoxide leak, and they all have permanent selective memory impairment as a result of lack of oxygen to their evil brains.
